We need a book very soon that covers the entire war and explains in detail every IDF policy and major action - why they did it and what were the results.

We’re in an information war combating an endless stream of lies and slanders against Israel, and the MSM has given up on being fair minded journalists who actually investigate anymore.

A waste of time…. History is made second-by-second and this conflict is 2000 years old.

I completely disagree! This is the longest war in Israel’s history and it needs to be thoroughly studied and explained. Are you aware of just how much misinformation is out there? Israel did a phenomenal job prosecuting this war, but a terrible job fighting the information war.

It doesn't say very much for the Pentagon, or CIA for that matter, that they were so awfully wrong about what would happen in Gaza. Its a wonder that the US is still in one piece.

Yes. It's important to spread these stats. But one should be more careful with the numbers. For instance:

--Civilian to Combatant death ratio: Impossible so far to know for a fact, but most pro-Israel, not-unhinged assessments I've come across suggest a ratio of 1:2 to 1:3, which is still way way below the 1:9 "accepted" ratio.

--Released Hostages: There were 168 live hostages released in total. Out of the 251 taken to Gaza on 10/7/23 about 30 to 35 had been already killed on that day. About 3 to 6 were killed during IDF operations. About 42 to 50 were killed by Hamas & Co in captivity. We will know more in time.

-- IDF casualties: Yes, 916 killed since 10/7/23, but nearly half of them were on that day. The subsequent war offensive caused 468 IDF casualties. This last number is what should be measured against the dire and vastly mistaken predictions before the war.

I thought about 1/2 of the IDF deaths happened on 10/7 and that IDF deaths in the invasion of Gaza were just 450.

I thought I was pretty well-informed and well-read about the October 7 debacle and the ensuing tragedies of the ongoing war in Gaza (and in Israel)...but I was still rattled to realize, from your reporting of "stats", that on October 7, 5500 Gazans invaded Israel. This was no scantily gathered gang of marauding terrorists. It is so important that this be understood. Some people continue to be under the impression that this tragedy and its aftermath was the result of massive mischief gone unchecked. Future of Jewish does a fabulous job of laying out information with logic and clarity. It is not enough, however, for people who already know, understand, and agree with one another to bind each other's wounds and soothe each other's bruises through the medium of excellent journalism that reaches a select audience. Its journalists must seek a much wider stage that does not escape the attention of a broad and diverse populace. Rochelle Ginsburg

I’m told anecdotally that the UN may need to cut 60% of its staff due to the U.S. withholding its contributions to the organization. Apparently for the U.N. to obtain U.S. funding, it must show how it has spent funds at a degree of granularity that is impossible to report on.

Thank you for this superb, measured analysis. It is with facts and reason that ordinary people will fight the Islamist fanatics. And let's hope it stays at that level, although the signs are not looking good in the UK.

We need to hear from gazens who suffered under the Hamas regime and are honest and brave enough to tell the world the truth. Anything coming from Israel or its supporters will be labeled as Zionist lies and propaganda. When the hostilities finally end, hopefully the truth will emerge.

I believe the number of IDF soldiers killed in Gaza since the start of the ground offensive is 468, less than 1 fatality per day vs the 20 predicted by Biden officials.

The unexpected invasion of the 7th of October 2023, shocked the Israeli community, leading to widespread disbelief and concern. Across the affected territories, the sudden onset of violence triggered an immediate response from various individuals, who took up arms and rushed to the battlefront to save our population. Despite the chaos and the fact that they were vastly outnumbered, many individuals fought like lions and demonstrated remarkable courage and resilience in the face of adversity. This surge of civilian involvement highlighted the deep-seated commitment to defending their communities. The collective actions demonstrated the strength of unity of the Israeli people during a crisis.
