Shapiro will have to decide whether he will keep to his views and denounce left based anti Semitism or become the next Schumer who never fulfilled his self proclaimed status as the so called Shomer of Israel

I don't know much about him, but the little I do know is that Shapiro's too far left for me. If he can show the courage to separate himself from the absolutely malignant Democrat party members, and their disastrous policies I could consider it.

Yes. This is what primaries are for. Thanks for reading, Pam!

I’ve agreed with nearly every Future of Jewish post til this one. For those of us living in PA, Josh Shapiro has been a bitter disappointment. As antisemitism and antizionism have surged across our schools, campuses, workplaces, and streets, he has done virtually nothing to protect or even acknowledge the Jewish community. I can only hope this disappointment of a governor stays well away from the White House. He is far too beholden to the Islamists/far left to represent us.

More on Henry Morgenthau Jr. (1891–1967):

The only Jew in FDR’s cabinet, the influential politician was in a position to stand up for being a Jew and help save Jewish lives during the Holocaust.

It would be a disaster for the USA -- and Israel -- for the USA to elect another Democrat, given the Left's hatred for both countries. Meanwhile, Trump has been the best president for Israel, perhaps ever. Let's hope JD Vance, if elected, will keep up that momentum. I asked AI who would be a possible Jewish Republican candidate, and it gave me this:

In recent years, Jewish Republican politicians who have been active in national politics or have been mentioned as potential presidential candidates include:

Lee Zeldin: The former U.S. Representative from New York and 2022 New York gubernatorial candidate is a prominent figure in the Republican party. During his time in Congress, he co-chaired the House Republican Israel Caucus. In November 2024, President-elect Donald Trump nominated Zeldin to become the Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, but the nomination was withdrawn in March 2025.

Randy Fine: Elected as a U.S. Representative for Florida's 6th congressional district in a special election in April 2025, Fine has been described as a rising figure in Republican Jewish politics.

Previously, he served in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.

Max Miller: As a U.S. Representative for Ohio's 7th Congressional District, Miller is one of two Jewish Republicans in the 119th Congress. He was previously discussed as a potential candidate, and in March 2024, he endorsed Donald Trump for president.

While not typically discussed as potential presidential candidates, other influential Jewish Republicans could emerge on the national stage:

Michael Glassner: An American political strategist, Glassner worked on President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign as deputy campaign manager.

Lewis Eisenberg: Former chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Eisenberg was a major fundraiser for the Trump campaign.

Steven Mnuchin: The former Secretary of the Treasury under President Trump is a prominent figure in Republican circles

I agree he would be good. I like him a lot, though I doubt it will ever happen -- but you never know. It's the supreme irony that the hosts of a pro-MAGA YouTube show called Fleccas Talks always appeal to Steven Miller directly to do this or that policy that they want (they think he watches their show), but at the same time, they regularly scapegoat Jews and diss Israel, as though Miller is not Jewish.

Given Shapiro’s plan to share Thanksgiving with AntiZionist imam, Basheer Bilaal, I wonder how exactly his being president would help Jewish Americans. He appears to be choosing to pass the litmus test and show that he’s a “good Jew” after all.

If one is a supporter of israel I am afraid the absolute worst thing that could happen is a jewish dem gets elected...one who has to prove himself not controlled" by israel etc...Trump can be the biggest supporter of israel but Shapiro cannot and sadly Shapiro's comments regarding israel reflect nothing but the dem party attitude regarding israel...somebody like Rubio,Desantis or Cruz would be infinitely better...no thanks

I would be thrilled with him or Josh Stein or Rahm. Bigger picture. History. And an America where the rule of law and First Amendment are restored. “Future…”

The First Amendment is doing just fine. And in what alternate reality will the "defund the police" Democrats restore the rule of law? In fact, the Democrats are the reason for the lawlessness of our society.

The Democrats are the most anti-Semitic party since the Nazis. They will never nominate a Jew.

Yes, and I have bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. The Democratic Party has become a bastion of Jew hatred like the Labour Party in the UK. In order for Shapiro to become President he will have to denounce Israel. What planet are you living on, post 7/10 when Jew hatred is at an all time high😼. It will never happen and frankly I don’t want a court Jew as President.

There is no chance the Democratic party will nominate a Jewish Zionist or frankly a non Jewish Zionist. Its incredibly sad but this is where that party is at. Shapiro won't get near the nomination.

Primary voters decide this. There is no “party” that nominates. Just people. Four examples in the article of longshot candidates who EARNED voters’ support through the primaries. “No chance” belies history. NO ONE knows. That’s the whole point.

Primary voters decide the nominee only if a single candidate gets an absolute majority of pledged delegates on the first vote. Failing that, the horse trading starts, the superdelegates get to vote, and the party machine will pick whoever it pleases.

Yes I know that. Which is why the party will never nominate a Zionist.
