The nanny ended up marrying the rich, posh, English aristocrat who loved her warmth, kindness and street smarts. Rachel Berry became a star. Ross Geller ended up with Jennifer Aniston. Sorry but 1980s Jewish stereotypes were fighting against the JAP phenomena and won. Today you have beautiful Gal Gadot, Natalie Portman and Mila kunis held up as archetypal females.

I won’t say that antisemitism isnt systemic as we have seen but I think you miss the cultural mark. The issue today isn’t that Jews are seen as kvetchy and tacky, they are portrayed as child killers. We noticed that years ago when every monster was protected by former Mossad agents and all the human traffickers had Israeli counterparts. For Hollywood the only good Jew is one who walked into gas chambers not one that even fought back. It’s softening up the culture for Jew hatred and Hollywood is responsible

I'm confused by this comment. It doesn't seem to me that he couldn't figure out what white supremacists would have against Jews, but just the opposite. It's precisely because they hate Jews made him wonder why white supremacists would have a memoir from a holocaust survivor.

"The Auschwitz comment was devastating. Here was someone I knew and respected, despite his Marxist view, someone I considered well-read and high educated, who could not figure out what White Supremacists might have against Jews. But, his view is to be expected. America is awash in antisemitic tropes, so deeply rooted we don’t even notice them. And our universities are the epicenter of the fight".

What's happening at Columbia is a pin prick. In my in box are emails from Academia .edu with one phd screed after another. Example one Noam Leshem at U of Durhuam, the UK. I googled this bloke....VIRULENT hatred of Israel in all his course offerings and "academic" research on "settler colonialism...all couched in the jargon of far left anti Zionism..."spatial reorganization of emptiness..." as in how Zionism uses emptiness for colonialism? No , I will not waste time trying to read this. So Columbia's professors no less than professors at a thousand universities of Mid East Studies is thoroughly anti Zionism/ anti semitism....and if the professors are Jews or bingo...Israeli Jews then you've got your "education" indoctrination wrapped up in a bow. And check out "Jewish Studies" too for indoctrination.

I was born in Ukraine during the collapse of the Soviet Union and experienced severe anti-Semitism in first grade. My parents immigrated to Israel, where we lived for three years before our final move to the United States.

As a naturalized Jewish American with two master’s degrees—an MBA and an MS in behavioral science—here is my take:

What’s happening on college campuses and in liberal school settings that perpetuate hate is an indoctrination of the victim mentality. If you’re familiar with Hitler’s upbringing and young adulthood, you’ll know he blamed the Jews for everything he believed was wrong with Germany, especially after WWI. He played the victim card—and now it’s back again.

Blaming the Jews means you don’t have to take accountability for your own sins and lack of direction. These generations of kids are being raised by parents who are afraid of their children’s emotions, making them prime targets for manipulation and the degradation of others. It’s e new approach to us, it’s emotional terrorism and it may start with us but if it doesn’t stop the rest of the world is already bleeding from this cult.

I used to live in NY, I live in the south now, it’s safe here.

Tommy Lehren from Fox News (not that she’s a genius) told the audience to have their kids go to college in the South! No wokeism bs etc!

If this fifth column of imported professors and students is a result of planning to support a goal of these universities, perhaps it is a fet acompli.

If that is what they want to do with their university, it does not seem likely that fewer than ten percent of graduate-supporters can effect a reversal or a change of perspective.

It sounds as though they have already thrown their school down the chute toward the trash.

Too bad—

Excellent. Great writing by the way. I myself got a BA in English Lit from University of Texas, Austin in 1977 (excellent), and an MA I Comparative Literature from Rutgers in 1982 (more than excellent). I didn't experience any anti-semitism OR far-left Marxist wokeness for that matater. The head of my department was old school. We worked hard and we learned. What the hell happened in the last forty years?

Exactly I’m OAF (old as f-word). I was totally blindsided by the outburst of worldwide Jew hatred. I thought I left it all in the past. I grew up with hearing things like “let’s go fly a kike and it’s you”. Before October 7, 2023 I actually thought that Jew hatred was diminishing I was way wrong.

Strange and scary times. And now I'm worried about Social Security and Medicare as well!

We may not really need to worry about Social Security in the strictest sense of the program. But there is a fair amount of evidence that fraud is taking a bite out of the trusted money. And hopefully the fraud can be eliminated without the legitimate beneficiaries suffering at all. Usually DJT says he will not touch Social Security when I hear him say otherwise then I’ll worry. I’ve noticed a tendency from msm sources to distort and misrepresent facts.

I hope you are right. I truly do. Seems like it would be sooooo unpopular and seniors have lots of time on their hands to protest. lol. (I haven't seen evidence of fraud though; do you have sources -- would love to see. I'm sure there's some measure of fraud everywhere.)

Looks like computer glitches are a bigger concern but still if the payments are presented to be cashed and are paid out then in fact it is fraud and the msm is just painting DJT in a bad light. A lot of unknowns.

Glanced through the second one. Lots of the same info. But they didn't spend $9 million to update the system, in order to save $70+ billion? (again, my pet peeve). And the COBOL issue. So stupid. Why are we so stupid? In regard to the two trusts that are running dry of funds, I've read more than once that all they have to do is slightly increase the salary cut-off. In other words, we only pay Social Security taxes from our payroll up to a certain salary . All money earned after that is not taxed for Social Security. If they raised the cut-off level it would replenish instantly and no one would be hurt.

Read the first one so far. $70+Billion is way too much in overpayments. It's absurd how the government is so behind in technology. It seems like we (the U.S.) never do anything until there's a crisis. We should be on top of technology, maintenance, infrastructure. I don't live my life waiting for a cris is to happen before taking care of things. My rant for today.

The Jewish card is often played by people who are not Jewish, either to take advantage of the status or to incriminate “the Jews.” That’s an excellent example of a red herring that occupies people’s attention and convinces them that they have found a scapegoat...

The irony in all this is that Jews may have made Columbia, not the other way around. Many amazing Jews attended the school from Milton Friedman to Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In literature there was another Ginsberg, with an e, Allen, not to mention J. D. Salinger, Herman Wouk, Isaac Asimov... the list goes on and on. Nobelists in the sciences as well. I almost attended Columbia myself way back when but opted for Dartmouth because Columbia was less than a mile from my father's medical office. Time to grow up. The truth is by now the whole Ivy League is useless. Don't go, even to Harvard where they are now giving free tuition to families under $150K. Their endowment is so large they could have done it years ago but didn't Why not? Screw them all the horses they came in on. Go to trade to school.

Glenn Reynolds had written over a year ago that Jews should look to schools in the South (Red States) where they do not tolerate antisemitism such as the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where they will get a good education and not have to live in fear.
