Another idea would be to realize Islam wants all Jews, Christians and everyone else dead or enslaved.

Once you understand that, don't let Muslims into your country - they have 56 of their own they have already ruined.

Don't vote for Democrats or any other political party that wants Muslims in your country assuming you want to stay alive and you cherish your national heritage.

"Globalize the Intifada" they tell us: OK, seems totally fair to me; it means we can shoot them too.

Sam's avatar

when will the world press clearly and loudly acknowledge this and what we all know-these are Muslims perpetrating, instigating, funding this violence and hatred of all Jews.

Where is Muslim leadership admonishment of this? Tacit approval.

God bless the Muslim man who stopped the killer in Australia.

He was not a slime bag muslim, stop crediting these vile morally bankrupt demons with anything other than what they are, their passion is to hate and kill Jews and they need to be stopped no matter the cost, it is us or them and I strongly believe it is their time to be removed from this planet for good.

I believe we saw, once again, what “globalize the Intifada” looks like in Sydney.

100%. I don't want any of them here; don't trust them.

I have read the Koran, Sira and 10,000 pages about Islam in other books, articles and scholarly papers.

Islam is not "complex."

It's Holy Books are full of "absolutes."

"I think real security comes from understanding differences clearly."

The differences are Muslims are instructed to kill you, convert you, undermine you or make you a slave. That is a huge difference vs. The Tanach (Old Testament) and (The New Testament).

Outside of the Canaanites and the Amalekites, JHWJ does not Instruct his Chosen People to murder or enslave everyone who is not a Jew. Similarly, Jesus does not instruct anyone at any time to murder, commit crimes or force conversions in His Name. What individual Jews or Christians do by committing grievous sins does not change the spiritual teachings of their religions whatsoever.

As a Christian or a Jew walking down a street and seeing 4 Muslim men on one side of the street or 4 Christian or Jewish men on the other, all of military age, I know without hesitating which side of the street to walk on. I am purposefully generalizing and being discriminatory. It's called being wise and surviving.

Islam on the one hand and Judaism and Christianity on the other are utterly different. One is evil in its very constructions and the other two are designed to make human beings act in good faith to each other.

Do you see that?

What are the diaspora Jewish Charities, ADL, AJC, Federations doing to create and promote Vigilant Judaism? Sitting on billions. How many more hob knob cocktail party social climbing events and letters will be written to protect us and teach us how to defend ourselves?

Krav Maga is a practical, aggressive Israeli self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), focusing on real-world situations using natural instincts for fast, effective self-protection, emphasizing simultaneous defense and counterattack, aggression, and situational awareness AND MUST BE TAUGHT AT EVERY JCC IN THE WORLD.

Bonnie Geller's avatar

The biggest weakness is the often very weak and incompetent, unelected Jewish leadership chosen for knowing the “ right” people, not for ability to deal with the very serious problems in today’s reality in the Diaspora. The so-called leadership love to travel to capitals and to Israel on our money, smile, have fund raisers, meet the media, and stoke their own egos but act as if Jews are still living as ghetto Jews in the 19th century. Their idea of leadership is to grovel to the Jew hating heads of governments, and to the Jew hating police, to protect us, as if we are helpless victims from a fourth world country. They believe they are doing all they can by writing opinion pieces, debating and teach ing about the Holocaust, which has proven to be a complete failure. They tell the Jews in their communities to shush and not rock the boat or “they” will hate us. They already hate us so why be subservient to those who treat dogs better than us?

Robin Alexander's avatar

This is a very important point: "they already hate us." Therefore, under such circumstances, we should not give even a small damn what "they" think going forward, whether in Israel or in the Diaspora.

Marc Nodell's avatar

They have no interest in 'Vigilant Judaism'. They still hang on to the myth that we need to rely on the kindness of strangers.

Robin Alexander's avatar

Love your reference (spoken by a wounded passive southern belle as she is led out of the apartment to a mental institution).

Robin Alexander's avatar

Sounds good to me. I'm 70 and I would consider taking such a course.

Richard Baker's avatar

If Jewish folks "emphasize comfort and passivity" instead of preparing for any contingency then the most recent killings are a harbinger of the worst to come. If Jews don't defend themselves wherever they are then who will?

Steve S's avatar

In the USA we are lucky to have the 2nd Amendment. Every Jewish household should have at least one firearm for each adult, with visits to the range to learn accuracy and safe handling of the firearm. Obtain carry permits and carry to synagogue and to Jewish themed events. When every second counts, as in the most recent shooting of Jews in Australia, the police are only minutes away. And every second counts.

Bobby's avatar

Statistically, having a gun in the home almost always results in not being able to retrieve it in time when it’s needed, or having it mistakenly used against a friend or family member, or shooting and missing, or having it taken from you and used against you. That’s what happens. You seldom hear of some Rambo who successfully neutralized an attacker with his piece.

Instead, I have a nice light weight aluminum baseball bat at my bedside and another one near me downstairs in my home (and I can bat right or left-handed), along with a can of long throw RAID wasp killer, which is pretty easy to douse a face with at 15 to 20 feet. In case.

Steve S's avatar

You are sadly mistaken. I suggest you do further research and don't listen to the anti gun rhetoric. A good source is the Crime Prevention Research Center, a non-profit that advocates for 2nd Amendment rights. As for having bats and wasp killer nearby, better than nothing, but I'll take a Glock, Ruger, Beretta, or S&W over a bat anyday. Wasp killer is great...for killing wasps.

Bobby's avatar

I am even handed when reading research and I am not anti-gun. Fortunately, I have never had to swing my weapon of choice yet, though a few years ago, I did approach a person, bat by my side, and a peaceful outcome was achieved wordlessly.

Also, being very much a “hands-on” type of guy, I like the idea of a direct hit with a bat in my hands. Much more tactically satisfying than a discharged bullet, which my body would have no intimate connection to, though you might find otherwise if you end up shooting yourself in the foot.

Steve S's avatar

Going hands on with bat in hand showed the other person you were potentially dangerous, not a patsy, and willing to fight. A bat is close up, face to face, shows a warrior mentality. This often will avoid conflict as most criminals don't want a fight and hope to get what they want through intimidation and threats. This doesn't work so well when an older person is confronted by a younger person, a smaller person by one much larger, or a woman being stalked and otherwise abused by a man. In those instances, the person is better off with a firearm than a bat.

Bobby's avatar

I agree, Steve. But gun ownership requires a lot of responsibility: a gun owner must have a very personal relationship with his weapon. He or she must know everything about that weapon; how to take it apart, put it back together, keep it clean and operational, and be experienced using it with regular range and target practice. If I had a gun by my bedside, I would design various scenarios along with a partner or partners and practice my responses. I would make damn sure my gun was free of ammunition when doing this of course. That last statement is unfortunately necessary,. “ I didn’t think it was loaded” being the worst thing I think I could ever hear or say. Agreed, my friend?

Rabbi Meir Kahane HY”D was right about everything. If only we had listened to him all those years ago. He dedicated his life to Jewish empowerment and security. He wrote many books, and I'd suggest every Jew read them.

I attended a lecture that the Rabbi gave at my college in the early 70s. This was a time of Jews being attacked in Brooklyn by groups like the Black Panthers. The auditorium was overflowing and I happened to be sitting next to two Black guys wearing their Black Panther berets. I thought this was going to be trouble. At the end of the Rabbi's speech I heard one of them say to the other..."This guy gets it. If you don't stand up for yourselves no one else will", and they actually applauded his remarks.

I’ve been writing and preaching this for years. Learn lawful, self-defense , those willing and able arm themselves, Learn situational , active shooter training, stop the bleed. Look at Legionalpha.com. If there’s no chapter near you, start one! . We need to be self-reliant for those moments before help arrives (where it still does) and stop being considered soft targets.

A timely and insightful article, Joshua! I am a Lutheran ally of the Jewish community, and I agree with every word Joshua wrote here! I like to start off by saying RIP to the 12 innocent souls who were murdered at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia by two Islamist lunatics! Among the dead are a rabbi who was a father of five, a Holocaust survivor and a precious 12-year-old girl. The response of the Australian government...was less than inspiring. This is why the Diaspora can no longer depend on western governments to protect them. They've shown their woefully inadequate to do so. This is why I believe Jewish communities should form neighborhood watches and armed self-defense militias. These organizations need to be formed in the spirit of the Maccabees and the Hagenah.

Bulk ammunition (ie., 500-1,000 rounds), especially in 9mm and .223/5.56 NATO, is the cheapest that I have seen in almost 5 years. I recommend resupplying your stock and then practice, practice, practice.

Try this again.

Buy a gun. Learn how to use it. As one of Chaim Potok's characters in the book: In The Beginning says: When the goyim come to kill you, kill the goyim first.

The crimes here were instigated by Anthony Albanese and his vile labour cabinet, they are guilty of the murder of the 12 Jews who died at the hands of their muslim voters in Australia today, they live in perpetual denial of what happened and lack the moral compass to call out islam for its crimes against humanity and blame Jews and Israel for the evils of islam, he is a phuken coward and deserves to be taken out by Mossad, he and his cabinet are lower than the maggots that feed off of shark s#!t at the bottom of the ocean, may Hashem send him to hell sooner than later!

1. Weapons, absolutely. Yes, it's a PITA to train, but you gotta do what you gotta do. And once you get over scare of the boom, it's a lot of fun. Go to a safe range!! 2. We have to make sure they don't try to take our guns. When I see photos or videos of Israelis walking around town with big guns strapped to their backs, I think YES! Of course they're Israelis, so there's that. But if Islamists get more power, our weapons will be the first to go. 3. Self-defense!!!! A must for every Jew. A good SD class is not just physical self-defense; it's also transformative. When someone who's been told they're weak and cannot depend on themselves physically seriously take SD, they learn that's all BS, and they can do things they never thought. It's a huge mental boost.

Of course it has to be instruction that's reasonable - it's important that new students get trained on what they're realistically capable of. 4. Another site to check out is https://jewscanshoot.org/.

Excellent essay as always Mr. Hoffman!!!

Yes indeed, Josh. Organised networks attached to The State here in Europe… Hamas was and is supported by these highly placed Antisemitic Elements. We have monitored this from 2014 onwards, absolutely spoken from these Elements themselves, here in London. As the Anti-Nazis, from all the backgrounds which we come from, say: ‘The Price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance’.
