Every year, the world mourns the Holocaust, only to turn around and justify new forms of antisemitism. If we can’t recognise its latest disguise, what exactly are we remembering?
Excellent post, I hope young JEWs bombarded with anti Zionist propaganda from academia(the university Mid East and in some case "Jewish" studies dept.) journalism, social media, street protests....from every quarter there is Jewish history erasure, Jewish identity erasure, Palestinian superscessionism, progressive church Jew replacement theology.... I hope they will heed your message.
I, too, wonder who you are, Lucy Tobrizi, because as steeped in writing and Jewish activism as I am, and a writer and poet myself, I find your piece on antisemitism enthralling, spot-on - even wryly humorous in part in just the right places. I want everyone to read it, most especially those ignorant of Jewish history and Jews themselves. Bravo.

A few points ofmintrest:
"Stalin, by the way, was preparing his own purge of Soviet Jewry in the 1950s"
One version of the story runs that Stalin already had the lists drawn up and the trains assembled in the yards, but the day before the plan could be executed, he suffered a massive stroke.
"Critiquing Israel’s policies is as valid as critiquing those of any country"
The distinction not only many opponents of Israel fail to make, but many Jews do too, is that critiquing a country's policies is not the same thing as criticizing the country itself. The former focuses on a government's platform; the latter attacks the core legitimacy of the state's right to exist.
"[Israel] exists because the world completely failed the Jewish People."
That may be the modern interpretation of Zionism; however, Israel's existence began some 3,500 years ago when the 12 tribes of Israel migrated to Canaan.
"the freshly minted United Nations knew that the moment Israel declared independence, it would face a war of annihilation from the surrounding Arab armies."
An even cursory examination of the UN partition plan reveals that the narrowest section of the proposed Jewish homeland was from a military point of view an indefensible choke point. Had the Arab armies focused on it, they could have divided they new Jewish homeland into two and then just conducted a mopping up exercise.
Antisemitism is the original STD (Socially Transmitted Disease). But seriously, fighting back can be dangerous. It may get you hurt or even killed. Here in the U.S., the political opponents of Pres. Trump have no constructive ideas. Their solution is a call to action to "take it to the streets". Meaning that I foresee their shock troops of Antifa and BLM rioting and burning as in 2020 (sounds like Hamas to me). While the theme of 2020 was hatred of the police and the" white oppressors", this new go-round will feature hatred of the Jews. Last time around, many Jews stood in solidarity with these groups, hoping that the violence would pass and leave them unharmed. What about this time? Fools again or will Jews fight back? Are you ready? We may soon find out.
Qatar & the Saudis have given giant endowments to all of the American universities, colleges and some high schools - in exchange the school agrees to hire professors that teach their antiIsrael rewriting of history to our youth. The schools also enroll Arab students without merit (just like wealthy Americans do!) The destruction of Western Civilization is being chipped away. If you're future oriented, better come up with a plan of action!
Apart from 19 countries, where even asking questions comes with prison sentences, what can be said about legitimate questions? As the editor in a Jewish community paper said it in his editorial around 1990 in Massachusetts, "if you give power to anyone to stifle people's voices, the same power, sooner or later, will be used against you."
As someone with Jewish heritage, of which I'm proud, I hope, I'm not labeled "anti-semitic."
In fact, I am concerned that the whole setup is hurting Jews...
Right now in Australia we have a wave of Gaza-related anti-Semitism. The habitual response is to clamp down on eg hate-speech, but this is precisely the wrong solution - by limiting speech you are denying your own ability to speak in your own defense when the time comes!
Feminists have learned this lesson with the trans ideology that took away their ability to defend women's rights. Limitations on speech, even well-intentioned are actually against Jewish self-interest. Imagine leftist locations making displaying the Israeli flag "hate speech" using this legislation.
Right now in Australia we have a wave of Gaza-related anti-Semitism
This is gonna be a semantic argument, but I think you, and we here is the US, have standard antisemitism with Gaza as today's excuse. Gaza could of course be solved tomorrow and the antisemites would of course find another excuse.
I don't doubt that the driver of Arab & Muslim anti-Zionism have intrinsic anti-Semitic roots, and Gaza/insert-any-other-issue is just their excuse to engage in anti Israel rhetoric.
But the vast majority of the left wing ratbags out on the streets and campuses are lilywhite Anglo/Celtic Australians. They have been infected by the leftist/academic "colonial" ideology toward Israel and this drives them - in other words I think their anti-Semitism is the *outcome* rather than the original prime mover cause.
Excellent, but I would point out that there is just no evidence that every year the world mourns the Holocaust. As you said, there are statements. No mourning. Not even really any regrets except from the Germans.
Time to stop trying to explain or understand Jew hate. Put on the blinders and full speed ahead. If it’s ethnic cleansing or whatever the antisemites want to call it, who cares. Gaza will be for those who want to live in peace. That excludes hamas and those who support it.
Who are you, Lucy? This was fabulous. Spot on. Bravo!👏

Brillant essay.......thank you so much......Everyone should read it.......Enough with the lies and the distortion of history !!!....
A perfect summary of today’s dangers. Thank you.
Outstanding article.
I am overwhelmed with emotion at how brilliant this article is. Thank you for writing it, publishing it and stating what are cold hard facts!
Thank you so much. As an amateur writer who wants to write more, comments like this are so encouraging.
I would never have guessed you were an amateur writer!

Anti Semitism as Chief Rabbi Sacks of blessed memory wrote is the world’s oldest social disease and knows no boundaries
To get an historical view of the the progress of antisemitism, I recommend reading
“Anti-Judaism - The Western Tradition”,
by David Nirenberg.

Probably the most intellectually rewarding book that I have ever read.
What is antisemitism?

There are many types of "Jews." Most of them are my friends...
Nobody wants to be ruled by Islam (and not all Palestinians are Muslims):

Still, someone else will ALWAYS be there to rule...
Lots of countries are now scheduled to be destroyed by Muslims:

Here in the US, for some miraculous reason, even the "Jewish" media is manipulative:
https://rayhorvaththesource.substack.com/p/the-jewish-media-and-dhimmihood
In my understanding, when it comes to "antisemitism," it's mostly a psyop, especially when it comes to Gaza:

Oh, and in the globalist game (most Jews are written of as "collateral damage"), there is no right and left.

Not as long as the terror tunnels remain.
In my experience, only a few morons fall for "hating" "the Jews." :) They are inconsequential.
