Established in 2022, JOOL’s FUTURE OF JEWISH 25 outlines the organizations paving a promising path for Judaism, Jewish life and culture, Jewish Peoplehood, and Israel. The organizations are listed in alphabetical order.
1. ANU - Museum of the Jewish People
Celebrating the multiculturalism of Jewish diversity, the museum recently completed a 10-year, $100-million renovation that positions it as a relevant, cutting-edge cultural center on the campus of Tel Aviv University.
2. BimBam
BimBam demystifies Judaism with fresh and inspirational videos accessible to learners of all ages.
3. Brightcode
Powered by Taglit-Birthright Israel, this program offers eligible Jewish adults aged 18-32 a free six-month boot camp, which will train them to work as Full Stack developers. Students begin studying virtually for a five-month session, followed by an additional month of in-person study and scheduled social activities in Tel Aviv. Upon completing training, students receive personalized job placement assistance, culminating in a guaranteed two-year job at a hi-tech company in Israel.
4. Center for Rabbinic Innovation
Led by Rabbi Shira Koch Epstein, the Center for Rabbinic Innovation is transforming and elevating the quality, impact, and reach of rabbinic leadership through pluralistic, cohort-based training and support for contemporary Jewish spiritual leaders as they serve in the field.
5. Chabad
Founded in 1775, Chabad is an Orthodox Jewish Hasidic dynasty. Chabad is one of the world’s best-known Hasidic movements and Jewish religious organizations. Unlike most ultra-Orthodox groups, which are self-segregating, Chabad operates mainly in the wider world and caters to secularized Jews. The word chabad is a Hebrew acronym formed by three words: wisdom (chochmah), understanding (binah), and knowledge (da’at).
6. Fuente Latina
Founded in 2012 by Leah Soibel, Fuente Latina breaks down geographical, cultural, and linguistic barriers for Spanish-speaking media covering Israel, the Jewish world, and the Middle East — to address the more than half a billion people around the world consuming news in Spanish today.
7. The Genesis Prize
The prize fosters Jewish identity, inspire Jewish pride, and strengthen the bond between Israel and the Diaspora by celebrating Jewish talent and achievement, honoring individuals for their accomplishments and commitment to Jewish values, and inspiring Jews to connect to their heritage and to Israel.
8. Honeymoon Israel
Honeymoon Israel provides immersive trips to Israel for couples that have at least one Jewish partner, early in their committed relationship, with the goal of making young couples of all backgrounds feel welcome in the Jewish community, and inspiring them to incorporate Jewish values and traditions into their lives in their own way.
9. Humans of Judaism
Following her father’s sudden passing in 2013, Nikki Schreiber launched Humans of Judaism to create a positive environment on social media that highlights the good in our community and the humanity of each Jew.
10. iCenter
The iCenter strives to transform the professional field of Israel education by focusing on the learners, helping them develop their identities and build relationships with Israel and Israelis, and creating a dynamic ecosystem of passionate and knowledgeable educators, rich and nuanced content, and institutions centered around their learners.
11. Inside the Middle East
Founded by Avi Melamed, a former Israeli Intelligence Official and Senior Official on Arab Affairs, ITME is an organization that helps people understand the current Middle East reality. In 2022, Melamed published his second book under the same name as his organization.
12. IsraAID
IsraAID is an international non-governmental humanitarian aid organization based in Israel. Since 2001, their teams have worked in emergency and long-term development settings in more than 50 countries around the world, including most recently in Ukraine.
13. IZZY – Stream Israel
IZZY is a global streaming platform that features unlimited Israeli movies, TV shows, and documentaries — available anytime, anywhere, on-demand, and with English subtitles.
14. JewBelong
JewBelong helps you find the joy, meaning, relevance, and connection that Judaism has to offer — with a focus on Jewish holidays and fighting antisemitism.
15. Jewish Insider
Jewish Insider covers U.S. politics, business, and philanthropy with a Jewish angle, from Capitol Hill to the campaign trail and the conference circuit.
16. JOOL Trivia
JOOL Trivia is the first weekly Jewish trivia game, available worldwide, that rewards winners with cash prizes. Players can participate in weekly, two-minute Jewish trivia games featuring multiple choice questions, available worldwide via any web browser.
17. Judaism Unbound
Founded by Daniel Libenson, Judaism Unbound is a digitally driven, radically open center for education serving as a catalyst “for an entirely new era of Judaism.” The Judaism Unbound podcast is a favorite in the Jewish world, and the organization recently launched The UnYeshiva, a new center for Jewish learning and unlearning.
18. Lost Tribe eSports
Lost Tribe strengthens the Jewish identity of teens and young adults by building friendships, increasing engagement, and encouraging participation in Jewish life — via the wide world of gaming.
19. Momentum
Momentum seeks to inspire women to transform themselves, transform their families, their communities, and the world. Their flagship program, the MOMentum Year-Long Journey, empowers women to connect to Jewish values, engage with Israel, take action, and foster unity, without uniformity.
20. OneTable
Inspired by ancient Jewish wisdom, OneTable empowers folks (21-39ish) to find, share, and enjoy Shabbat dinners, making the most of their Friday nights. Their social dining platform makes it easy for you to become the producer of your own experiences, and for Shabbat dinner to become a platform for community building.
21. OpenDor Media
OpenDor Media — and their brand Unpacked — educates, entertains, and engages audiences by bringing to life big ideas and authentic stories, and by celebrating all things Jewish.
22. Rabbi Sacks Legacy Trust
Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, of blessed memory, was a unique leader in the Jewish world, whose core philosophy was a Judaism engaged with the world. In the aftermath of Rabbi Sacks’ tragic and untimely passing in 2020, the Rabbi Sacks Legacy Trust was established with a mission to promote the timeless and universal wisdom of Rabbi Sacks as a teacher of Torah, a moral voice, and a leader of leaders.
23. Shalom Hartman Institute
The Shalom Hartman Institute is a center of Jewish thought and education, serving Israel and North America, with a mission to strengthen Jewish peoplehood, identity, and pluralism; to enhance the Jewish and democratic character of Israel; and to ensure that Judaism is a compelling force for good in the 21st century.
24. Vibe Israel
Vibe Israel is shaping and promoting Israel’s global image, by strengthening the connection between the next-gen Jewish Diaspora and Israel.
25. World Zionist Village
An initiative of Jewish National Fund, the World Zionist Village is a world-class campus being built in Be’er Sheva, Israel that will offer global Jewry of all ages a place to convene and access programming, shared spaces, and accommodations — ultimately harnessing the power of positive Israel-Jewish conversation.
