What is most interesting in this article is that it is mainly young people who are turning to G-d. The same thing is happening in Christianity but in the UK as Connor Thomlinson has reported it is mainly young males.
Yes, what I didn’t include in my article is that Professor Efrat has mentioned that youngsters in the West are also turning to religion, and the studies show that it is mainly due to their search for identity.
Isn't it wonderful that our God is so faithful? He doesn't turn His back on us in the hard times. I'm so glad that I came to know Him through Jesus Christ more than 60 years ago, and He has never once let me down. And I'm so glad to see people turning back to Him now.
With all due respect; although it’s great you all found G-d, and to a good extent it will help, but you still need a mental health therapist. What you’re doing is spiritual bipassing and not only is that going to catch up with you and hit you hard, it’s also disrespectful to G-d, because you’re using G-d as an excuse to not have to look at the painful stuff, your intentions are not pure with that. Not to mention G-d is also the one who has given us the art of psychology and therapy. You need both to heal trauma.
It´s hard to understand how the same people who have suffered and continue to suffer infinitely and terribly under the massacres of "true believers" and an "omniscient God" like "Allaaaaaaah", now draw the conclusion that they themselves should "return" to exactly such a "God".
„G*d“ is surely not there for providing „miracles“. Were have the „miracles“ been while the Bibas kids and mother were brutally murdered ?
Were have they been for all the hostages encarcerated and killed ? For all the innocent people killed, raped, slaughtered by laughing hyenas called „Hamas“ ? For six million Jews in gas chambers and camps ? For all the Jews expelled, murdered, prosecuted over thousands of years ?
„G*d" was also not and is not conceived or viewed everywhere and throughout all world history as a „punishing", power-wielding One.
Too many of „new“ self-proclaimed "orthodox“ believer figures such as „Vance“, „CK†" or Islamic protagonists speaking "about God" has apparently nothing to do with „G*d," but is a mere reflection of themselves, of their own failing existence and mind-/soul-bending.
And this applies not only to „right-believers“ but to everyone.
NO ONE will ever „know G*d“ or „know“ if it exists at all. And He can be misused, of course.
If someone thinks/feels (they „know“) „G*d“, they can do it but can also be judged or perceived with it like any other be they „atheist“, „sceptical“, „Believer“ or whatever.
Believing does not take away any of the whole self-responsibility any human has. And this can - or must sometimes ! - include saying „NO“ to a „G*d“ that is claimed to force you to disrespect, torment or kill someone - or saying „YES“ to killing if it appears inevitable.
Christianity, in particular, has not conceived a „punishing", „omnipotent", "dominant“ G*d, but rather an „admonishing" one who formulates commandments that are more or less comprehensible to all. The „punishing“ G*d is a mere invention of those who want to misuse power.
Thus, „G*d“ - even more in „Mother Mary“ - remains here as the "complainer" who sees humanity's limitations and biases „in sorrow and grief", but therefore does not seek to "accuse" or "punish“ them, or to „intervene“ with „miracles“.
A "punishing" "omnipotent“ G*d has only been invented by those who (mis)use it to "make politics" and want to gloss over or whitewash their own ridiculousness and turn civilians into obeying sheep —which is particularly evident in Trump's case, one of the most ridiculous and (self-)contradictious figure for decades who obviously can´t get along with himself but demands „authority“ from others.
But „G*d“, if He exists, loves him just the same as all others.
Trump can be met with compassion, too, or the results of his efforts may be appreciated insofar as they can bear good fruit, for they are as laborious and limited as those of any other - and sadly, „Leftists“ or „atheists" don´t differ much or at all from that authoritarian attitude.
If you really want to, you can supposedly "honor G*d" by "covering up“ in clothing, „respect holidays," and so on—but it's truly absurd to assume G*d cares about that.
He looks into the HEART.
The ONLY real "sin" is the arrogance of considering yourself "better" than others just because you have, do, or observe certain things. Arrogance of any kind leads to all kind of violence, disrespect, war etc.
The only real sin is a lack of humility.
Apart from that, you can enjoy life, have ten or no children at all, love a man or a woman or several, dance scantily clad to rousing music, gasp for joy, sink into tears for a reason, or listen to or perform strictly formal string quartets or motets.
It just has got to be REAL according to what you ARE.
Everything has its meaning, its price, its limits, its value. But if you "don't have the love“, a.o. also to appreciate "others," too, it loses its value.
Furthermore, "contradiction" against „G*d," "disobedience," is also a component of not only the "Christian" religion, but especially of the Jewish religion.
There lies one „reason why“ especially right-wing/ left-wing extremists with a strong „collective“ ‚belief‘/attitude with no sense for anyone „talking back“, often reject especially Judaism, the „cheeky Jews“.
Anyone who has a heart and free mind, must love them.
So-called "Christianity" was introduced by Jesus from Betlehem/Judaea, later in Galilee, a Jew, who never distanced himself from Judaism, but rather stood within its tradition and engaged in intra-Jewish disputes, especially against the "Orthodox" and "scribes" whose a.o. lack of mercy he rejected without abandoning the foundations of Judaism.
Rather he saw that mercy at the core of Judaism.
Such a merciful G*d, one who is not brimming with punishment, anger, and self-righteousness, is unfortunately sought in vain in „Islam", even though there are "interpretations" that seek to read something different into or out of the "Quran" which, however, seems considerably more difficult in "Islam" than in Judaism or „Christianity".
I allow myself to advert that no one must go "against G*d“ and reject „G*d“ totally but against what those who call themselves "(true) believers" have made and keep on making of it.
Every one of us is guilty of committing treason against a holy, righteous God. Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eve deliberately decided to disobey God's specific instruction, because their reason told them that eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be good for them, and not lead to death as God had told them. Every single person since Adam has made the same decision: I will decide for myself what is right or wrong, what is good for me, and I will ignore or set aside what God has said about it. In fact, I don't even want to know what He has said about it, and if anyone tries to tell me, I will get rid of him one way or the other. That is how we all are. So all of us are justly condemned to death, and death has many forms. Adam and Eve did not realize, when they decided to disobey God, that one day the Bibas children and their mother would be brutally murdered as a result. God is perfectly justified in sending every one of us to hell for all eternity. His love and grace is shown in that He sent His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to take our punishment on Him so that we could be set free from the punishment due to us. That is the message of Christianity, coming out of Judaism, in fulfillment of Jewish prophecy (see Isaiah 53). It's no use pointing at the trouble in the world and blaming God for it - that is all our collective fault. He has done what He can to make a way out for us. If we refuse it, we have to accept our just punishment. Every person who lands up in hell goes there pushing and shoving past the grace of God, in rebellious refusal to accept His Lordship over our lives, and His right to tell us what is right and wrong.
Do you know that for certain? Jesus Christ certainly believed that there was. If there is no hell, it means that there is no ultimate justice. There has to be a hell, or God is not a just and righteous God. Sorry, but you need to provide absolute proof that there is no hell - not just your opinion.
No, I'm going on the authority of the Word of the Living God. You're the one who stated categorically, "There is no Hell." I just asked you if you had absolute proof of that. If not, it's your unsupported opinion. I don't trust my opinions, which are so often wrong. Thankfully, there is an absolute standard we can trust - the Bible, given to us by a loving God Who wants us to know the truth.
If you "don´t trust opinions" why do you want to discuss "opinions" ? As soon as we die, everything we did or thought on earth more or less will lose (any) importance, because the World and human beings are too unimportant. Of that I´m sure, and "judging" will have no importance anymore, but rather "universal Love" and forgiveness, something Humans can´t give as they´re too tangled within the world and can´t let their soul free.
If you want to believe sth. else, you´re free to do so.
"The Bible" includes a lot of valid sermons but also a lot of trash.
"Holy Books" are not only containing truth, and should be received with "historical-critical" attitude, something more or less unexisting in Islam, that´s why it is a slavery religion as of yet..
I just learned about some of the horrors inflicted by the Muslim Arabs and Egyptians from Gaza upon the Jewish women at the Nova Music Festival, and also the abuses they inflicted on the women hostages, and I ask God to redirect my life. This is a failure of every good person to love Jerusalem. Wise men have failed to move the needle—to hasten the second advent of G-D in this prophetic time of Yom Kipper.
It's not just Jews. It seems there is a significant return to religion and God. Thank God (!) in these godless times.
What is most interesting in this article is that it is mainly young people who are turning to G-d. The same thing is happening in Christianity but in the UK as Connor Thomlinson has reported it is mainly young males.

I think it's more than their search for identity. I think that it's a search for meaning. But we can leave it at that.
Identify meaning connection

This is what the Talmud calls Hirhurei Teshuvah or awakening to the possibility of change in a very significant way

Beautiful and moving essay, Florit Shoihet!
