On that note, part of what helps progressives stay wilfully ignorant is a language barrier. I'm surprised I don't see more coverage of the discrepancies between, say, Al Jazeera English vs. Al Jazeera Arabic.
I can't completely blame Anglosphere progressives when Hamas does a press conference in English saying "we just want our own state where we can live in peace" and then does another press conference in Arabic saying "we won't rest until we kill every last Jew in the Holy Land".
For example, is it true that the chant "from the river to the sea Palestine will be *free*" is a whitewashed English translation of an Arabic chant "from the river to the sea Palestine will be *Arab*"? I've heard that claim floating around but don't myself speak Arabic to verify.
