One of my favorite charities is Beit Halochem Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel. It is committed to rehabilitating, rebuilding, and enhancing the lives of over 50,000 Israelis who have become disabled in the line of duty or as victims of terror. Beit Halochem Centres across Israel provide specialized sports, recreational, and therapeutic programs. Beit Halochem is a place where our injured Heroes can regain dignity and quality of life.

Thank you for this heartfelt article today Joshua. Since October 7th I cannot stop thinking about the difference between how Israeli young people have been brought up to love their country and serve in the military that protects all citizens of Israel

Continued: I think about the young people I know in the US and others in college and on social media. I only wish we would have brought them up with the love of our country, with its faults and the obligation to protect us.

You are so right Robbin, the youth of America could learn a lot from the youth of Israel…but sadly they won’t and it’s killing America

It is very complicated now with the political differences and ways of life. The media is at fault for sensationalizing everything. We have to hunt for the truth. I read the Future of Jewish first everyday and the Free Press. The WSJ has excellent editorials.

Our children have been pampered too much and have not been taught to be strong and resilient. Thanks for your comments.

Totally agree. Our American youth need two years of either military or community service before they start college or enter the workforce. They would develop some toughness and a love of country. They have neither at the moment.

As always, the strength of the Israeli soldier is amazing. Equally impressive is the empathy, compassion, and willingness to help that is displayed by so many in Israel today. Thank you for continuing to give us insight to this horrific situation.
