I have always been immensely proud of my Judaism and have never hidden it. I have been equally proud to be British and I adore London. Now, it seems dangerous.
I agree with everything you have said, except for one thing - the truly ignorant or, perhaps more correctly, uneducated, among those marching in support of Hamas and, by default, against the Jews and Israel are a miniscule minority. Those who chose to side with the Palestinians/Hamas know full well what they are doing and what they are espousing. They do so willingly and unreservedly. I am neither Jewish nor Israeli, in fact I am British-Irish and embarrassed by the level of pro-Palestinian support in Ireland. Those who allege these barbaric terrorists are "freedom-fighters", claim their similarity with the IRA terrorists as justification for their position. Not many in Ireland call the savages of Sinn Fein/IRA "terrorists" so this type of hypocrisy is nothing new. Nor is their willful blindness to the real world consequences of their actions. I stand with Jews and Israel, and have made their fight for humanity my fight too.
Check out Ireland Israel Alliance on YouTube. Maybe even join, and fight for truth.
Jew Hate is only the tip of the iceberg.
Ireland us the most Socially Programmed society in the Western World.
This is the result of over 800 years of deliberately done major trauma including major starvations throughout, not limited to the " Potato Famine" Genocide in which Ireland lost a
bigger part of population than was lost in the Shoah.
These repeated starvations have been shown to have generational effects on DNA and especially that relating to emotional health.
The Irish have been programmed to identify with the Pals and see Israel in the role of England. That's the root of it all.
These same people reject their own Diaspora in favor of their British Oppressors, whom they insist are Irish for having been born on the estates their conquering ancestors stole from them.
I live in Australia and antisemitism has reared its ignorant head here.
I was ashamed that our Prime Minister didn’t put a stop to the wild, rioting pro Palestinian marches.
Our Jewish protesters were law abiding and well behaved and as you say brave.
My relatives are from Lithuania where they were shamed, beaten and murdered by the Cossacks (Russians and their western neighbours eg Ukrainians) so we fled to Southern Africa were we survived and made good.
I am ashamed that Australia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Penny Wong, went to Gaza and Israel with her mind made up to add an extra $21m aid to Palestine.
She did not even bother to visit the relatives of the hostages.
All aid monies are going straight into the hands of Hamas.
Why is the world so ignorant?
We will survive this. Get the hostages back alive or dead but never allow Hamas to share a border with Israel again.
The jihadis have made themselves very clear; they love death more than we love life. Therefore, no one is safe living alongside them. By eliminating HAMAS Israel does a service for the entire civilized world, including Palestinian Arabs who would live in peace with their neighbors.
Fear, the recurring Jewish emotion, knows no geographic boundaries . As a proud American Jew, born in Brooklyn, I know the feeling expressed here. We need to hold fast, and not give up our homes to these barbaric usurpers!! Am Israel chai!!
I agree with the author with one exception. I do not pray for Palestinian civilians since they are mostly indistinguishable from the Hamas monsters who commit the murder and atrocities. Oct 7 happened with the help of Palestinian civilian spies posing as friends to Israelis - or workers. There are photos of civilians celebrating acts of violence against Israeli hostages and their Jew-hating rhetoric has not abated. Within Judea and Samaria, polls say that most Palestinians still support Hamas. As always, Israel should try to minimize collateral damage to civilians but not to the extent that the world seems to be demanding; which is tantamount to Israeli surrender. No. I pray for Israel's victory, for the return of the hostages (although I doubt most of them are still alive). For Jewish/Israeli unity, instead of the socio-political chaos preceding Oct 7 in Israel which contributed to our leaders and military taking their eyes off the ball. I also pray that Western countries start pushing back against the evil woke dogma that is inextricably linked to the Jew-hating Palestinian cause. It's such dogma that prevents us from ever winning the propaganda war and pressures us to go along with insane demands. It's such dogma that is allowing evil to flourish.
You are so right. The succinct answer that you expressed is that you cannot make peace with people who do not value life . That is the essence of this conflict.
I agree with everything you're saying. However, I remember the first post that attracted me to this particular site. It reminded us to look at the positive sides of what Judaism offers. And I would say, focusing not on what Judaism offers to the world, but what it offers to us. Theodor Adorno argued that writing poetry after Auschwitz is inconceivable. Or as he said, barbaric. I would argue that at any juncture of our history, writing poetry (or anything else of this nature) is a must. Isn't it what they want – to drive us into hiding? To make us constantly scared and worried?
My heart is with you. I am not Jewish but I will support the Jewish people through everything. I myself, am frightened by what is happening here in Britain. It is truly shocking and I can imagine that Jewish people here must be terrified. It is beyond shameful that this is happening in our Country. We must stick together in order to deal with this filth on our streets. Please be assured that many people support you.

I believe you are mistaking unbridled evil for ignorance.
It is total evil.

The Jews of South Africa sound like they are in a bad place too.
I don't mean to make a habit of posting off-topic.
But I did want to note that the Good Citizen, an excellent example of good reporting on everything but Israel, has a big problem.
In today's post, he is mourning the loss of 20 percent of his readership here on Substack, resulting from his " criticism of Zionism".
It would appear not all of Substack is okay with ignorant Jew Hate masquerading as truth.
