I may be a lone voice braying in the wilderness like some lonely jackass, but here is my recent letter to the editor of our local "paper" which was published late last week.

“Amsterdam is burning. After the hunt for the Jews, now the intifada.” So states “Israel Realtime” this morning as it reports (alone) on the continuing rioting and burning of property in that city in the wake of the pogrom against the Jewish soccer fans this last weekend. What does one think that “globalize the intifada” means in the real world. Europe successfully fought back the armies of radical jihadist Islam, from Spain on their western front to Vienna on their eastern front, from the late 8th century through the late 17th century. Yet, in the early 21st century, they have willingly opened their gates to the same philosophy and now the battles for the soul of Europe have begun. And, as usual, it has begun with attacks on the Jews, the world’s historically convenient scapegoat. But as I have said before in these pages, what starts with the Jews does not end with the Jews. We have opened our own southern gates to some of the same people with the same philosophy. We have already desensitized ourselves to attacks against Jews at our universities. We have already looked the other way as “otherwise peaceful protestors” have burned our cities. I foresee an “Antifada” (no, that is not a misspelling) in our own near future especially with the results of the latest election. I read a timely quote this morning from a frequent contributor to one of my favorite sites (Pat Johnson in “Future of Jewish”), “I will stand with the Jews today, not because tomorrow may be too late, but because today is as bad as it should ever get.” As a Christian who would like to get along with his fellow human beings, that is my truth and strength. I am ready to stand today with the Jews.

I would add, no “buts.” No, I support Israel’s right to defend itself, but…. No, I believe Jews have a right to Israel, but…. When I sentence has a “but” in the middle, it means ignore everything that was previously said. No one says, I support civil rights but…, no one says I support freedom, but …. Conditional support is no support at all.

To all the Non-Jews that have been there for us. You have no idea how much your support means to me and all Jews. We are less than half percent of the worlds population and there is no doubt that we would be extinct if we did not have allies like you in our history

I think Paul Simon's words are appropriate here: "When you're weary, feeling small, when tears are in your eys, I'll dry them all, I'm on your side. Oh, when times get rough and friends just can't be found, like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind." In good times and bad, I Stand with Israel and Jewish people worldwide.

Am Yisrael Chai!

Very good article, thank You ! It is very hard way to HASHEM to unite Jews . Only United we are strong. Israel is fighting for its survival and also for whole civilisation. It is important to pray and pray because praying is most powerful way to express our thoughts and feelings to HASHEM. There has been many miracles and many more to come . We can’t be silent among other peoples, we have to support each other in every possible way. Remember HASHEM has the control of everything everywhere all the time. Everything is happening accordingly Torah and Kabbalah. The Third Temple and the Kingdom of Israel ( Davidic Dynasty) are eternal and Sanhedrin will be also in the Third Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem Very Soon Baruch HaShem. The final peace will come soon after Shechinah is dwelling in the Third Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem Very Soon Baruch HaShem.

Terrific article. Thank you. I wish I could say that my grief was historic and resolving, but I feel gutted every day reading about the fallen soldiers in Gaza and Lebanon and Israelis killed by terrorist attacks. Their deaths are never acknowledged in our Western media.

And thank you for welcoming allies. Thank you for not getting mad when we mispronounce things or say something not quite right. I’ve never felt so welcomed than by the worldwide very diverse Jewish community I’ve met since I started writing in support of Israel and against antisemitism. My friend in Jerusalem is praying for my dad who is dying as we have prayed for his combat solder daughter every day. Other communities seem to tear down their allies - why I have no idea. I’ve been greeted with so much love. When I published my first piece in national media after October 7 I thought my Jewish friends might find it a comfort and was shocked when it was shared around the world. There should be more of us speaking out. I’ve had so called friends cut me off but I don’t need friends who actively wish death on my true friends. For every so called friend I’ve lost I’ve gained ten more. And more every day. We all love your blog btw. I was chatting with one of my American Jewish friends this morning and we were saying this is one of our favorites. You tell it like it is.

'What do you say to someone whose community has been targeted with such brutality'. Start by saying, Hamas started this War with the 07/10 massacre. Israel then levelled Gaza to prevent Gaza's buildings being used as vantage points and cover for Hamas snipers. In both of these facts the Laws of War are with Israel.
