They don’t value human life. There are things that are ok sometimes-like killing someone in self defense, and things that are never ok- indiscriminate murder, kidnapping, looting. Hamas did not engage in acts of war. Hamas acted like bloodthirsty barbaric savages. There is no situation, no enemy, where murdering babies in a bloodthirsty frenzy while stealing is an appropriate response. Raping women to death is not how humans advocate for political independence. Even if their entire narrative of 1948, etc, were true, which it isn’t, they would still be evil in perpetrating October 7, tearing down pictures of hostages and physically intimidating Jewish students on American university campuses. No act of theirs is legitimate. History aside.

Paul Kessler should not be dead.

Even if the fanciful history of ancient Palestinians were true. They would still be evil.

You didn’t comment on the irony of white American students accusing Israelis, more than half of whom are “brown”, of living on stolen land.

A major cause this time is post-Marxism; check out Chris Rufo’s “America’s Cultural Revolution.”

Cultural Marxism's "long march through Western institutions" has reached its peak in academia. But the new Marxists have had important allies: the Islamists. This unholy alliance, often referred to as the Red/Green Alliance, has an incredibly long history; going back to the Russian Revolution! Suggest you read historian Mark Cote's article: https://providencemag.com/2023/11/the-new-red-green-alliance-1/

1. Even following the logic presented here, IF 1948 was unjust, what international law makes targeting civilians, not to mention torture and rape and killing babies, okay (for these campus kids who love to cite war crimes). 2. If the Israelis deserved it for partying on stolen land, then all the students at M.I.T deserve to die for studying / partying/ living on stolen land. 3. How much more just can it be when the U.N. Itself created the state — along with so many others after WW2. No other displaced groups (including the Jews thrown out of every Arab country) are still kvetching about this land this house blah b Lola’s 75 years later.

These creatures are depraved psychopaths and should be forced into exile in Gaza or Iran or any other barbaric society under sharia law. "Progressivism" i.e. Marxism is a depraved inhuman, murderous ideology. I recall someone saying that under the surface of a Marxist lies a nazi.

 ....................................................................................................................................................................................................................

"Many campuses exploded in outright celebration of the barbaric violence, the enthusiasts typically invoking, by way of justification, the massacre’s “context” or “root causes” (in Israel’s “occupation,” “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” et cetera) and the legitimacy of “resistance” to those evils “by any means necessary.”

Daily I am incredibly disappointed and appalled by the media, who consistently quote Hamas Health Ministry’s highly improbable (some say statistically impossible) numbers, HHM’s lies about conditions in Gaza (which must be horrific, but which are not famine with mass starvation as described over and over in mainstream media,) who write lies about Israeli “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” and “genocide,” and indiscriminate murder of “innocent civilians, the majority of whom are women and children,” repeatedly, and never explain that when they are “1 day away from running out of fuel to keep a hospital functioning,” as we read weekly, that Hamas has thousands of gallons of fuel available for killing and war but zero for life, who never explain that Egypt maintained a blockade and today could deliver food and supplies if they desired but strategically demand that only Israel can/should provide aid while they prevent Gazans from leaving into the Sinai, and never detail how Hamas is preventing Gazans from fleeing, and never connect the dots as this author has done to the long history of Jew-hatred of Islam. An important detail that I have not seen anywhere pre-dates 1948: the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem collaborated with the NAZIs and offered to wipe out all Jews in the Middle East along with the NAZIs. Before 1948 the local Arabs/Muslims wanted to destroy Jewry. Had the NAZIs won WWII it seems unlikely to me that they would not have next turned their murderous rage against these very same Muslims, but thankfully we can never know.

Actually, the percentage of muslims in Sweden is 8,1,

Norway: 5,7, Finland: 2,7. The majority is well assimilated to Western civilization.

You might argue that Russia is a muslim country: 11, 7 %.

It doesn't take a high percentage of muslims in a population to islamize that society. We are seeing how mobs of muslims are intimidating and terrifying European authorities to cave to their demands. They appear to be more than they are because they behave as an aggressive mob. At the very least their concentrated bloc of voters causes left wing politicians in Europe to do their bidding. It's begun to happen here as we see with Biden's treatment of Israel in response to the muslim concentration of voters in Dearborn, Michigan.

Bernard Lewis wrote extensively on the Middle East and quite accurately as well. Perhaps more attention should have been paid.

Obviously, Laura is not very well informed about European politics.

No way the small muslim community is a monolithic bloc - it is even more diverse than the Jewish community.

And no way the proud nations of Europe are under threat of islamization .

Indeed, there are dangers: there are islamists, the authoritarian left and right - aided by Iranian and Russian agitators - active in students protest but nothing the moderate social -democrat, conservative and liberal authorities can't handle.
