I’m a centrist because I believe that both the right and left have good ideas, values, and contributions, and the combination of them makes for a pretty good way of life, governance, society, et cetera.
This is why I have consistently voted for centrist candidates in six Israeli elections, since moving to Israel and becoming an Israeli citizen in 2013.
In this week’s latest election, I voted for Benny Gantz’s National Unity party, one of the few centrist ones.
And yet, as I stayed awake to watch Bibi’s speech just after 3 a.m. local time two days ago, I wasn’t upset that he won, nor that he is likely to partner with “extreme right-wing fascist” parties.
