Israel, with the aid of its regional allies, must start taking a way more aggressive posture against the Iranian regime — on Iranian soil — to create a safer, more stable, less war-torn Middle East.
If I may be so bold, perhaps it's time for a history lesson. Not just an American history lesson; but, a world history lesson. I am old enough (that is scary in and of itself) to remember what has been called the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. If you are unfamiliar with the event, please feel free to Google the background. To summarize, the Soviet Union (Russia at that time) thought that it was a good idea to place offensive nuclear missiles in Cuba, 90 miles from the tip of Florida, to intimidate the U.S. into withdrawing their nuclear missiles from Europe. The Kennedy Administration, at a time when America displayed some backbone, stated that these missiles in Cuba were unacceptable. They furthermore stated that an attack from Cuba on the U.S., or any other nation in the Western hemisphere, would be interpreted as a direct attack on the U.S. by the Soviet Union and there would be retaliation not only on Cuba, but on the Soviet Union itself. For a week in October of 1962, the world came close to all out nuclear war. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed and the missiles were removed. Unfortunately in the case of Iran, there are no cooler heads. If they develop a nuclear weapon, the same calculus that worked with the Soviet Union will not work here. Iran does not yet have a nuclear weapon (I hope), their proxies continue to attack, they themselves have attacked Israel, now is the time.
The reasons the Mullahs will not back down on a nuclear confrontation is that according to their religious belief, a nuclear war will hasten the arrival of the Mahdi, their version of the Christian idea of the Second Coming, aka "parousia".
Every time Jews, especially influential Jews including those who work in media, use the term "Palestinian Territories" and "East Jerusalem", and "The (Occupied) West Bank" they are legitimating their enemies claims while simultaneously reinforcing in non-Jewish people's minds worldwide that Israel is the aggressor, colonial, baby-killing, settler, apartheid, occupier of "indigenous" so-called Palestinian lands. So-called Palestinian because that label is a national one, and they never were a national entity.
Collective identities are built on race, religion, ethnicity, and nationality (Cf. UN Genocide Convention definition of protected peoples). Race is based on shared morphological features, like melanin or carotin, bone structre, facial features, etc.; religion is based on sacred texts encoding a collective history, enshrined beliefs, and rituals. Nationality describes a politico-territorial entity that either exists now or at one time existed. According to these criteria, "Palestinians" are not a race as they share the same biological morphology (body configuration) with all other Middle Eastern peoples. Religiously, they are Muslim. Ethnically, they are Arabs, part of the Umma. And as already said, they do not fulfill the defining criteria of a nationality. A proto-nationalist movement they may be, but the more accurate descriptors would be Judean-Samrian and Gazan Arabs.
Please, let us not aid and abet the propaganda mill of those who would exterminate us.
Thank you Joshua. Outstanding. When I read your articles, I think "how does this guy read my mind." you have a way with words. If your house has fleas, go and find out where they are coming from and WHY they are around. Find the source, the root cause and destroy it. It could be rats from a rubbish dump, uncollected garbage, or a neighbor with poor hygiene who has been feeding or encouraging rats. WIPE OUT all the rats and their habitat, clear the area and make sure it stays clear and clean. Have a serious "educational" chat with your neighbor. If he has been bringing in and FEEDING the rats to drive you out - well then "rise up and kill him first" Take steps to ensure "never again" - You can post guards, put up CCTV and do regular burning of undergrowth and weeds. Get you neighbour's to help, and always be alert, be aware and at the first sign of filth or rats take them out. Everyone in the neighbourhood must know that you DO "go to any lengths" to keep your family safe and healthy.
The problem with that would be the massive civilian casualties - and most of those people hate the regime and actually love Israel.
Israel is probably the world’s best at surgical strikes, so I think getting rid of the leadership and nuclear sites that way would probably make more sense.
Appeasement does not work. Israel is being condemned by African nations? China? Being played by America…? Israel has to appease every nation on earth? What business of theirs how Israel reacts to their enemies who attack? Bibi, I’m proud of you, following a red neck truism: shoot, shovel and shut up. No one need know when or how you take out the leaders of enemies. Resident Bidiot says you bullshit him? Precisely.
Churchill's Definition: Feeding the crocodiles hoping you will be eaten last.
A more accurate one: Some wolves invite a sheep to lunch. The sheep goes expecting to discuss what will be on the menu. The wolves go to discuss when is lunch.
Joshua, I agree 1,000 percent. It's time for the game playing to end. How you described attacking Iran is exactly what I have believed these past few weeks. Israel needs to destroy all of it. Last year, the US stood by and released their money, dropped sanctions, emboldened them to plan attacks on Israel through its proxies. The Arabs can smell weakness a mile away, and now with Biden MIA, who knows what they are planning next, but we do know they are planning something, and if anyone will be ready, Israel will be prepared.
I think this is dead right. Iran is the problem and they are sitting there complacently on the assumption that Israel wouldn't dare to attack them. Perhaps a bit like Putin assumed that Ukraine would never proactively invade Russia. But in doing so they have fundamentally changed the whole dynamic of the war.
Wise words! Take the stand, go for it!

What Israel needs to do is bomb Tehran off the friggon globe.

Yes, I am aware of that.
They would have been far more selective in Gaza if it had been physically possible with all the tunnels.

This is gold.

That chief Israel hater is followed closely by Obama the architect of much of this.
It's time.
