"There can be no peace while the Palestinian leadership educates its children to hate Jews, glorifies terrorism, and funds murderers with international aid money (i.e. their official “pay-to-slay” policies)."
The problem isn't Hamas, it's "Palestinianism". The whole identity is an artificial construct maintained for the purpose of destroying Israel. As long as people who identity as "Palestinians" exist, the war will continue.
Great article, Joshua. I feel personally that unless we adopt the same restraints we put on Germany post WW2 - banning of Nazism which in the case of Gaza and West Bank equates to banning of Islamic extremism - then there can be no peace. Both Hamas and Fatah need to be dismantled and more moderate leaders step up to the plate. Anyone espousing extremism or hate for Jews/Israelis would immediately be disqualified from electoral selection. This is what happened in Germany, and in 1949 there were only three very moderate parties standing for election - not a Nazi in sight - and they rebuilt Germany. The same moderates need to come forwards in the Palestinian territories, and all extremists shoved out into the cold. The only way forward!
Question: how can a people be refugees on their own land? If Gaza belongs to the Palestinians, how can they have refugee status and be accorded, for free, all of life’s necessities and claim victim hood regardless of their hostilities to Jews.
Also great and obvious questions to which we know the answers. Why are all of the world’s refugees (except the one "special" group) under one UN org whose charge is to resettle refugees? Why does one "special" group have its own UN org whose goal is to keep this "special" population *and their descendants* in refugee status indefinitely? Absurd and anti-Israel/Jew to the core! Many questions with obvious answers. All one has to do is look at the Temple Mount—the answer is loud and clear. It tells the story.
Why does no one ever ask why... of all the conflict zones... only the Fakestinians are denied the ability to leave it and resettle elsewhere... but are forced to remain... by the UN and the terror enablers ... as cannon fodder for future complaints against Israel
Exactly! We know the answer, but why isn’t it discussed openly? This is a huge part of the larger problem of making the Pal. Arabs ‘special.’ We know why they’re treated that way.
Egypt and Jordan are the ones who put them in camps in '48 to wait for Israel's defeat... and the UN included the so called "right of return" into the UNWRA charter... to keep them there... and paid them to live there or the last 75 years... time for the Egyptians and Jordanians to give them citizenship and use the monies to help them resettle there...
I agree with every point in here, but sadly, the world will never accept Israel. Ever. That is why a horrifying pogrom such as October 7th was greeted within HOURS by anti-Israel protests across the West and demands for "an immediate ceasefire" (in other words, Israel should do nothing). In fact, the world can barely stand the existence of Jews in general, which is why alone among religious institutions, synagogues and Jewish institutions have to have armed guards and/or police stationed in front. We rarely talk about that because, sadly, we are so used to it by this point.
So, coming full circle, Israel should unfortunately accept that the world will never accept it. There might be occasional exceptions but to the point of that old saying, better to be hated and alive than loved and dead.
True, but that’s how it’s always been, and we survive, flourish, progress, and triumph. And we do have real friends, obviously. I have hope. Hope is key, also obviously.
A few months ago I said to my husband, "If the world really wanted to get rid of us, they maybe should have been nice to us and over time we would have assimilated. This way, we'll never go away." As Joshua says, "we won't forget and we won't forgive." Amen.
Bravo, Joshua. This really hits the mark. Well done. Many may think they can appease evil, but all they are doing is feeding and seeding it. Teaching hate to the young and innocent is the worst betrayal by a parent and dooms any society.
With the pronouncements last night from Pres. Trump after his meeting with PM Netanyahu, we may have taken the first steps towards this reality. The supporters of Hamas and the Palestinians are already apoplectic. Let them platz. And in case anyone misunderstands the motives, it is not necessarily because of love for Israel. It is because some of us U.S. taxpayers are tired of pissing away our tax dollars on policies that continue to fail yet seem to enrich folks who have no interest in really solving the conflict. I am enjoying watching my tax money finally used wisely (at least a little bit). Justice, in the form of the new sheriff in town, marches on.
Trump announced he USA) is buying Gaza. Removing the people, razing the remains, rebuilding. “We will own Gaza.” He said all of that publicly. You are right Joshua, we can never forgive. Blessings and protection to Trump and Netanyahu. Bibi had that face splitting grin we know. Trump was serious until he mentioned Gazan coast will be a “Riviera” and somehow his face turned golden. If the Bibas babies are not returned alive, it will be swift. Hold on my people, real help is on its way. “For Gaza will be abandoned and Ashkelon a desolation, Ashdod driven out at noon (Trump took office at noon)…woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast…the word of the Lord is against you, land of the Philistines and I will destroy you so there will be no inhabitant…and the coast will be for the…House of Judah…for the Lord their God will care for them and restore their fortune.” Zephaniah 2. One of our fathers wrote that around 645 BCE.

No matter what you think of Trump, he has drawn attention to points that seem to escape ordinary minds.
For example, that nobody, really nobody, wants the so-called "Palestinians"!
Why is Israel expected to keep these completely undesired?
"From the river to the sea, 'Palestine should be free" ! - from self-acclaimed "Palestinians* !
Until everybody yawns, too many keep till eternity coming back with the "two-state solution", which is at best just as illusionary as Trump's ideas.
Strange that the latter gets mentioned but not the former.
Hardly anyone also keeps saying any word about the fact that the so-called "Palestinians" (=Arab-Muslim colonialists who have invaded the indigenous multi-ethnic, multi-religious indigenous population and want to occupy it) have been offered a "two-state solution" and their own state since 1947, just like the Jews: they preferred and still prefer to hate and destroy all Jews without exception and profoundly, they have lost several wars they started and are whining at the "world community" to "undo" this: so much stupidity - and even "support" for it - can only be found in a.o. that notoriously infamous, destructive, egocentric "Angela Merkel", who is just as mentally ill, arrogant and out of touch with reality as the "Palestinians".
But the „normals" continue to rave that "Israel" should "solve" this "conflict", the causes of which at the same time clearly are not known or get not to be spoken out clearly - if though, you get named a „-phobe“.
According to the UN Charta of 1948, all states that form on the territory of the former British Mandate must fundamentally be liberal constitutional states that recognize universal human rights and have incorporated them into their constitution, with separation of powers, "independent judiciary", prohibition of discrimination "on the basis of" religion, gender, "sexual orientation" etc.
Nowhere do the „mainstream", neither "Israel sympathizers" nor "Israel critics", ever say that there are no such Arab-Muslim states anywhere! On the contrary, Islam strictly and explicitly rejects such universal human rights without "divine reservation" (see, among others, "Cairo Conference and Declaration", 1990).
Why should there suddenly be a state ruled by Arabs/Muslims on (formerly) Israeli soil that does not exist anywhere else in the world?
Such realities do not exist only in the babble of the „mainstream".
One could be branded „—phobic" if one names the reality of "Islam".
Then, if one is too cowardly or narrow-minded to say so, "Israel should resolve the conflict", a conflict that cannot be resolved without absolutely unquestioning support from "the West".
As long as "the West" does not state that "Islam" in all its four (!) main "interpretations" is fundamentally incapable of peace and cooperation, there will be no "solution" anywhere.
Wow! You’ve encapsulated the whole story right here. It remains to be seen how the Abraham accords will play out long term, but I certainly don’t trust Saudi Arabia, and Trump is delusional if he thinks Qatar is “good.” He should not have stated that for all to hear even if he doesn’t really think so. He of all people should know to “follow the money.”
The first step is to close down UNRWA, the corrupt HAMAS riddled agency and move everyone into the UNHCR. Their mission is to move refugees out of the war zone and killing fields and find safe haven for them in other countries. Obviously the issue for Palestinians when they move into the UNHCR is that no country wants them. But then we really will face this total issue, where should they go (a video I saw today of a Palestinian woman who took a DNA test and found out she wasn't Palestinian but was from Lebanese and Jordanian heritage. Shocking that there is no Palestinian heritage in DNA) The obvious answer is Jordan and Lebanon second. A side-note that Turkey is eliminating the Kurds from their land in Syria and moving Palestinians from Judea and Samaria into the Kurds homes. So there is proof that Palestinians can move and become settler colonists .
Unfortunately, there will be no so-called justice unless and until Jews as well as the rest of the world look unflinchingly at the driving forces impelling the problem. Though it totally violates PC, comparing Islamic Judomisia (rabid hatred of Jews) to Nazi antisemitism entirely misses the point. It is not a nationalistic conflict but a religious war.
Nazism is based on über nationalism, the myth of Aryan racial superiority, and millennia old Christian image of The Jew subtly and not so subtly reinforced at all levels of society. Germany could largely be de-Nazified because one could be a patriot without believing it was the country's manifest destiny to rule the world. You could not be a Nazi and still make it through the Pearly Gates.
Judomesia, on the other hand, is a religious phenomenon. It is firmly rooted in the Koran and the Hadiths. When the faithful are told the worst of the worst of the Kufrs (Unbelievers) are Jews and that it is the religious duty of Muslims to slay Jews where they stand, or at the very least treat them as dhimmis, utterly contemptible sub-human creatures, how offensive is it to everything you hold dear and sacred when Jews form their own country?
As if this were not bad enough, adding insult to injury, these "pigs and dogs" are making that country on Arab lands, which, according to Dar al Harb, the Book of War, violates the principle that any land that comes under Moslem rule shall thereafter always belong to Moslems.
You cannot de-Nazify a religion. As just said, you can not be a Nazi and still make it through the Pearly Gates, but you can't be a True Believer and think Allah won't torment you through eternity if you don't hate Jews as his prophet commanded you to do.
You need to prove through the Koran itself that it is by Allah's will Jews have a right to their divinely promised ancestral homeland (Surah 5:20-22), and that it is by Allah's will they are winning war after war. (Surah 2:245, 11:88, et passim) These are the messages that need to be broadcast nonstop to the Arab public and its Western allies, the Street agitprop rioters, the campus gaslighters, Mainstream Media provocateurs, and political fellow travellers. Only then do we stand a chance.
"There can be no peace while the Palestinian leadership educates its children to hate Jews, glorifies terrorism, and funds murderers with international aid money (i.e. their official “pay-to-slay” policies)."

If there are "moderates" in the Palestinian territories. If.

That horrible pseudo history is done.

Yes correct. And fine with me. I approve.
