There are so many perfect phrases in this power packed essay. They would make for the ultimate yard sign next to the typical virtue signaling signs that are designed to show the home owner's ... empathy!
For me the salient line in this entire article is "it’s easy to preach peace when no one is trying to kill you." The pro-terrorist crowd would sing a different tune if they were being rocketed, blown up by endless explosive devices, and having to regularly go out to defend themselves. It reminds me of the number in the US decrying capitalism while driving modern cars, eating well, and NOT being physically attacked daily. Mental illness, perhaps, but maybe it's actually mental disorder.
Well said and with moral clarity. Empathy and its “selective outrage”. Mention any other area of the world that is suffering and the focus always comes back to Gaza. Yes, the Islamists have a great propaganda machine and understands the algorithms of social media better than all of the western movements.
And, they truly understand how easy the west is manipulated by their propagation of Jew Hatred.
Performative leftist compassion is easy when it’s someone else who pays the price. And that defines the Hamas loving western socialists - whether it’s innocent Israelis who get blown to smithereens in suicide bombings or the free loaders enamoured of Mamdani.
An educational system designed to keep people ignorant and compliant with liberal theology has been enormously successful at crushing critical thought in this country.
Thank you so much for your wonderful essay......You're so absolutely right, even " empathy " have it's DOBLE STANDARDS only for our beloved Israel!!!!!!
A very good essay, but only one line is important and not enough emphasis is made of the inherently antisemitic world which produces the blame. I wrote to a knighted British journalist and author of several books about WWII in the early weeks of the war with Hamas and he admonished Israel for fighting back and suggested that we should have taken the moral high ground.
Look closely at the face of the girl in the picture.. She's not looking at the camera but off to our right as if someone is helping her pose.
We need to start a propaganda war of our own. Not against Hamas or Iran or our own suffering. The propaganda should be about the atrocities in Sudan, Yemen, China, etc. Flood the airwaves, newsprint, billboards with current photos of those atrocities until people can't ignore them anymore. Be relentless. Sear it into their brains. The hypocrisy will be laid bare.
"For when they shall say Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as trivial upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape" (1Thessalonians 5:3).

That ship has sailed with a co-opted agenda and a one way journey. The western mindset is fused with the imagery and sense of victimization.
Debate becomes senseless and facts irrelevant. The polarization has been completed and the outcome will burden us all for decades.
Not a good place to be for the survival of western values.
A congratulatory article!
Exceptionally insightful and wise article, intelligently written. This writer is gifted with the ability to present deep thought in a readable manner.

Easy equation: No Jews, No News.

Shameful response of the knighted journalist.
Should we start referring to them as psychempaths?
