Sadly, my next thought was of the new mayor of NYC who is Antisemitic with a capital "A". Canceling protections for Jews on his first day in office. Canceling a required buffer around synagogue entrances. Huge red flags. British Jews considering emigrating from the UK would not necessarily choose NYC as a residence. But they might wonder when antisemitic actions such as that mayor's were going to spread across America.

The dividing line in the modern West is no longer liberal/conservative (left/right), European/American, rich/poor or workers/bosses—it is now globalists v nationalists and the globalists, who are represented by the Dems in America and Labour in Britain, have turned against Jews and the Jewish state and have adopted Muslims as allies and partners, members of a protected victim class and also as shock troops, as they're much more willing to commit violence than just about any Westerner.
The globalists have to oppose Israel for various reasons. Their ideology stands in opposition to the idea of a nation-state founded for the protection of a single people, not an open market society where contribution to GDP matters more than tribe, history, religion. Simply, any ties that precede the market state and the free movement of capital, labor and peoples has to be opposed and defeated as a threat to the globalist project. (That Arab societies are closed, insular and religious is irrelevant here, as no one looks to them as a serious alternative to modernity and for Westerners they are either a single group of marginalized POCs victimized by colonialism and/or as billions of people with cash and assets to acquire.)
Also, choosing to support Jews and Israel would put our globalist progressive class at odds with their own children, who have been taught that Israel is a baby-killing machine that commits "genocide" daily. They'd have to fight their own kids, the enraged professoriate, and also oppose progressive morality, which demands Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill of the Marginalized—as well as stick their fingers in the meat grinder called Palestine, where the "2-state solution" survives as a zombie idea, as no one has any clue how to deal with the Palestinian people and their feral culture.
It's much easier to sacrifice the Jews and their safety, as there's many fewer of them and Israel is already considered evil in polite Western society, as it's faced total vilification for at least 30 years. This would be far from the first time that Westerners have decided that Jews will need to go if they are to flourish and live in safety. I think this also explains why the NYT, BBC, CBC, NPR etc became conduits for Hamas propaganda and why it might be safer now for Jews to head down South to red states.
