I’m American and I am constantly shocked by how people here are totally ignorant about Islam, jihad, etc. and what their world plans are. They have a knee-jerk reaction to cry “racism” or “Islamophobia” if anyone even brings it up, which our enemies are taking full advantage of. They understand this Western weakness and the Western mind far better than most of us seem to understand them, even in the government where they should know better. Of course, it just came out that a Cuban spy has been working in our top ranks since the 1970s and spreading every secret to Cuba and Russia. It’s looking bleak and it’s a terrifying time for the future of free countries everywhere.
Josh, I totally agree that Israel must become less dependent on the US for all of the reasons you cited. Which means she needs to make the development of futuristic defense and weapon systems her number one priority to ensure that no country has the power to dictate Israeli foreign policy and military strategy. In the meantime, she must work with whatever military aid she can get from the US and NON-GOVERNMENT ACTORS. It is unlikely that any country – even China – would sell arms to Israel openly. (China is dependent on Iranian oil and I can’t see her jeopardizing that supply any time soon for the pleasure of giving the “middle finger” to the US).
America needs to honor the commitment to stand by Israel it expressed following the horrors of October 7. It needs to stop meddling and second guessing, and start leading from the front instead of playing to voices from the rear.
