David, thank you so much for your support of the Jewish people and your support of Israel. Unfortunately, too few non Jews as well as many Jews themselves do not speak out and are not active.
Frankly, I have always disliked the term antisemitism because its literal translation includes people who speak Arabic and Aramaic. IMHO, it's another blemish in our PR war against the enemy. The fact that it is working and has made progress does not mean that another word might have been better and perhaps made more progress.
In fact I would have preferred Jew Hatred to be the action and anti=Jewish to be the gasoline.
In closing, I want to thank you again and I want to wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
When thinking about what to write each day, if the world news does not provide any thoughts, I look at other articles and people’s thoughts for inspiration. Today I have read an essay from David Swindle, a non- Jewish Zionist activist who was involved in the IHRA definition of antisemitism. This is the definition widely adopted and one used by our group in our deputation to Leeds City Council.
The article discusses the difference in the terms antisemitism and Jew-hate. For many including me, the word antisemitism has lost some power. Many do not know what it is and many dispute there is any such thing. Fascists on both left and right are antisemitic whilst saying they are not racist. It has, as many words have in this last 15 months, been politicised and desensitised,
David argues that whilst Jew- hate is a feeling whilst antisemitism is an ideology. It is an interesting distinction.
Many people have feelings toward Jews. I saw a video of Norwegians being asked what they thought of when they heard the word Jew. It seems that amongst younger people it is an all encompassing word for all things bad. So is that a feeling and will it turn into an ideology. It was fairly bone- chilling.
When people think of Jews they may think the Nazis had a point, that’s a feeling. When they draw swastikas on Jewish homes it is an ideology.
When they think of Jews as killing Jesus it’s a feeling, when they scream it in the street it’s antisemitism . When they accuse Israel of genocide and apartheid because of their negative feelings towards Jews it is an ideology.
The IHRA definition of antisemitism is clear that holding Israel to a different standard that other countries is antisemitism. We have seen that antisemitism as an ideology has become rife again. We know the saying that it is a light sleeper. Is it a light sleeper because hatred of Jews is deeply woven into societies or is it because over that last 40 years there has been insidious demonisation of Israel, the Jewish nation state. Is it both?
I, along with David Swindle , use both terms on here depending on what I am saying. Antisemitism as a term dispensed with its hyphen as we were told that all Arabs are semites. So how could they be antisemitic. It was always a term for hatred of Jews not only Arab Jews. Gaslighting our experience is part of the antisemites job. We have all been told what is and is not antisemitic. In fact using the term Zionist instead of Jew is the definitive form of gaslighting.
But an interesting distinction and thought- proving ideas. A feeling versus an ideology.
It highlights how we must continue to challenge the feelings. How we must not let them turn from a feeling into an ideology. Challenge the prejudice. Hitler worked on the psyche of the German nation to turn a respected group into one that could be murdered with impunity. In many parts of Europe it needed very little to turn the feeling of Jew hate into a killing spree. Islamists are doing the same today, aided by the useful idiots running the west and their institutions. How many times have the police told us in Britain that things are not hate crimes as they scream for our death in front of the police. When the police fail to act, the feeling becomes the ideology.
So for never again to be true, we must challenge the feeling of Jew hate least it be allowed to morph into what we know it can .
Hit their bottom line, then? It is probably more effective than trying to argue using reason and logic, because they are hardly interested in rational argumentation. Emotional always wins over rational.
Personally, I stopped listening to Kanye West after he made his despicable comments. Which is a shame, I loved his earlier albums. BUt I find comfort in not contributinga tenth of a penny to his Spotify check.
We do this by de-bunking them by argument, line by line, word for word. We then expose them and the Nazis behind them who use Anti-Semitic Liberals as the useful idiots for the Nazis they are. We have been doing this for years, and it has worked completely. Am Israel Chai.
We have heard all the Hatred, all the arguments, and all the bogus sources. And de-bunked every one, Ilana, with Logic and Reason. The way it should be done.
One cannot understand the meaning of what is happening in Israel today if one does not understand that Zionism constitutes a double negation of the historical reality of Judaism. Not only does Zionism represent the culmination of that process of assimilation which, starting from the end of the 18th century, has progressively erased Jewish identity, in fact, in that it transfers the Christian nation-state to the Jews. What is decisive is that, as Amnon Raz-Krakotzkin has shown in an exemplary study, the foundation of Zionist consciousness is another negation, the negation of Galut, that is, of exile as a principle common to all the historical forms of Judaism as we know it. The premises of the concept of exile are prior to the destruction of the Second Temple and are already present in biblical literature. Exile is the very form of the existence of the Jews on earth and the entire Jewish tradition, from the Mishnah to the Talmud, from the architecture of the synagogue to the memory of biblical events, was conceived and lived in the perspective of exile. For an Orthodox Jew, even the Jews who live in the state of Israel are in exile. And the State according to the Torah, which the Jews await with the coming of the Messiah, has nothing to do with a modern national state, so much so that at its center are precisely the reconstruction of the Temple and the restoration of the sacrifices, which the state of Israel does not even want to hear about. And it is good not to forget that exile according to Judaism is not only the condition of the Jews, but concerns the defective condition of the world in its integrity. According to some Kabbalists, including Luria, exile defines the very situation of the divinity, which created the world by exiling itself from itself and this exile will last until the advent of the Tiqqun, that is, the restoration of the original order.
It is precisely this unreserved acceptance of exile, with the rejection it entails of every present form of statehood, that establishes the superiority of the Jews over the religions and peoples that have compromised themselves with the State. The Jews are, together with the Gypsies, the only people who have rejected the state form, have not waged wars and have never stained themselves with the blood of other peoples.
By denying exile and diaspora at their roots in the name of a national state, Zionism has therefore betrayed the very essence of Judaism. We should not be surprised then if this removal has produced another exile, that of the Palestinians and has led the state of Israel to identify itself with the most extreme and ruthless forms of the modern nation-state. The tenacious claim of history, from which the diaspora according to the Zionists would have excluded the Jews, goes in the same direction. But this could mean that Judaism, which did not die in Auschwitz, perhaps knows its end today.

Sorry. Old World maybe. Not UK. Not Ireland. Fo’ sure not USA, Mexico, or Latin America, not Asia. Only as a settler colonialist ideology is Judaism opposed.
After the Holocaust it became impolite to talk about hating Jews. “Settler colonialist” and “Zionist” (believing in the right of Israel and its people to exist) used pejoratively are simply today’s more genteel way to express Jew hate.
One clue? It’s impossible, btw, to be a “settler colonialist” in a land where one is unquestionably indigenous. Duh. 🙄
The original “Zionist” document is the old testament. Practicing Judaism in ”Eretz Israel” is the ultimate fulfillment for Jews. The existence of the State (of Israel) is a necessary condition to ensure this continues. You can take your conceptual thoughts with you should you choose to live somewhere else. Those Jews who want to fully practice their Judaism in Israel should carry on. If/when non— Israeli Palestinians are willing to coexist in peace with Jews, and respect Jewish sovereignty, they will have their own place alongside Israel.
If you want to know what State-backed Anti-Semitic Nazism looks like, The Guardian Newspaper in London is a front for Nazis in MI6 and has been for years. We proved this too, as the battle raged in 2013 to take over MI6, and thereby The British State, when the Guardian backed the Neo-Nazis, allowing them to Edit the paper every Tuesday of that year.
In an interview given after the war, former head of the Zionist Federation of Germany Hans Friedenthal said: "The Gestapo did everything in those days to ensure emigration, especially to Palestine. We often received their help when we needed something from other authorities connected with emigration."
Joseph Burg in The Toronto Star (March 31, 1988) wrote: "Zionism wanted to sacrifice all of European Jewry to the Zionist state. Everything was done to create the state of Israel, and this was made possible only by a world war. Wall Street and the big Jewish bankers helped the war effort on both sides."
In February 1950, Robert Williams published an article in Williams Intelligence Summary about “Jace Warburg’s Plot Against Christendom.” It said that General Ludendorff’s widow had revealed why her husband had broken away from Hitler. It was because James Warburg had made an agreement in the early summer of 1929 with American financial interests who wished to establish sole control over Germany by instigating a national revolution there. Warburg’s job was to find the right man in Germany, and he contacted Adolf Hitler, who subsequently received from him, up to January 30, 1932, sums amounting to $27 million, and then another $7 million, which enabled him to finance his movement.”
In the book George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography by Webster Tarpley and Anton Chaitkin , the second chapter is called "Project Hitler." It says that Jewish banker Max Warburg wrote to his American sponsors on March 27, 1933, that "a Hitler government is good for Germany . "
Thus, he, in particular, reports: “ In the last few months, things have been going much better than we had expected… But we are really suffering from active propaganda against Germany, caused by some unpleasant circumstances. These incidents are a natural consequence of the great tension of the election campaign, which has been greatly exaggerated in the foreign press. The government is firmly committed to ensuring public peace and order in Germany, and I am absolutely sure in this regard that there is no cause for concern.” This was Hitler’s seal of approval, given by the most famous Jew . ”
On March 29, 1933, two days after this letter, Max Warburg's son, Erich, sent a telegram to his cousin Frederick Warburg, who was the director of the Harriman railway system. He asked Frederick to "use all his influence" to stop anti-Nazi activities in America , including " terrible news and hostile propaganda in the foreign press, mass meetings, etc." Frederick was quick to respond, telegramming Erich: "No responsible groups here are demanding a boycott of German goods, only exalted individuals."
Two days later, on March 31, 1933, the American Jewish Committee, controlled by the Warburgs, and the Masonic lodge B'nai B'rith, heavily influenced by the Salzbergers (New York Times), published an official joint statement by the two organizations, recommending that " no boycott against Germany be encouraged " and also advising "no more mass meetings or other similar forms of agitation."
You quote the Lies of Nazis. Williams was a known Anti-Semite and Nazi sympathiser. You quote those forced to collaborate at the point of the gun, like Friedenthal. And you show your hand by spouting filth like, 'Gosh I thought only the Zionists were pro-Nazi'. Scumbag. Well, you lost, matey. Fifty Million of the best Whites DEAD in WWII at the hands of Hitler. You Nazis lost, because the best are dead.
'The book was originally published in 1933 under the title THE FINANCIAL SOURCES OF NATIONAL SOCIALISM. It's author, "Sidney Warburg" is believed to be a pseudonym for James Warburg, an American banker and son of Paul Warburg, Secretary of State under Wilson. The book remained on the shelf for a very short time and was declared a forgery by the Warburg family. Others believe it to be a true and tragic tale of a man caught up in a world whose treachery he despised. Indeed, he introduces himself as being a "cowardly instrument" of American banking colleagues.'
No. Impartial in the sense that Zionism to me is insane loyalty to not even a noble lie but a pernicious European myth of Blood and Soil and nation state. I think Agamben has it right. The wrong goal is State. The right goal religous observation and deepening even in exile. Exactly where you sit is the Promised Land. God permits you to serve in any circumstance from your abilites and this in turn meets the human need of meaning. Worship rightly understood is the deepest reverence offered to the Divine. Not ideological militant power projection like a European state.
I am happy to look into the book. My thesis is not reliant upon it. National Socialism as Sutton points to is Wall Street. Zionism is …well unique but stamped by totalitarian minds and street fighting youth. Ze’ev Jabotinskyism then. I have read a few books on Zionism through time. I have read books on how the Jewish state was born from both Balfour and the cost of colonization after WW1. I personally chose to not convert to Judaism after the coursework on conversion with a Reform Congregation I attended until Pandemic.
What a twisted, convoluted, wordy and warped way to justify death and destruction to the Jewish state and its people. Way to go saying you’re no expert on the Jewish people without having to say it! Any other minority groups you’re an expert on? Just the Jews?
This is a really poor argument. I can't tell if this is your writing or if you are quoting someone else - but reposting without context is also just poor form. What a disgrace to a) suggest that the trauma of exile is the defining characteristic of the Jews and what makes us superior - you are fetishising statelessness and I expect you are doing that from a very comfortable armchair , and b) you then go on to repeat the libel by describing Israel as "extreme and ruthless forms of the modern nation-state" when I expect you are fully aware that Israel has spent the last 80 years offering land for peace, and trying to find moderate ways of living alongside it's neighbours.
There are enough self hating jews out there, but that you obfuscate your insecurity by wrapping it in this pseudo-intellectual guff is particularly nauseating.
I hope Google Translate didn't translate correctly when you say you are one of the non-Jewish members - to tell Jews how they should describe those evil people ........who hate them?
Who lifted you up on that stool? It may be that you don't tolerate their rhetoric about non-Jews, but I wouldn't advise how to talk about anti-Semitism or hatred towards Jews. Hatred can arise from many different reasons, and the target is often open, but anti-Semitism is directed at a specific race or religious-ethnic group, anti-Semitism is not just persecution of Jews. it is also in circulation to other minority communities, which are affected by delusions.
When delusions turn into lies in public or state rhetoric and violence and measures to subjugate communities are directed at them, it turns into anti-Semitism. As has now happened in the West to students in colleges and teachers in schools, to writers, entrepreneurs, merchants, in various forms, this can also include Boycotts against Israel.
A wave of anti-Semitism is raging in Western Europe and the American continent. The one who doesn't see that is blind, of course there is the other option, which is cruel and conscious acceptance, which one does not dare to intervene, is turning one's back on the truth and accepting a conscious lie by keeping silent. This is how Europe worked during Hitler's time. And it seems to be working now.
All those states that now want to divide Jerusalem (Israel) could go back to the founding document of Israel, and preferably to previous promises to the Jews. I deeply regret Europe's actions against the Jews, and my apology will not make the world any better, let alone Europe. In my eyes, Europe is anti-Semitic and perverse, their hatred is as deep as Lucifer's jealousy of the kingdom of יהוה.
Isnt it strange ..... my initial reaction to the author saying he was non-Jewish was a great deal of respect and admiration for his allegiance and support of the Jewish people and to the State of Israel. Too few have come to our assistance and being less than half of a percent of the global population, we would have been extinct were it not for their support throughout history.
In regards to the content of his essay, he has every right to give his opinion as he is an active soldier in the PR war we are fighting. He is like the Arab Israeli soldier in the IDF and he has IMHO plenty of right to voice his opinion. I feel we owe him that much at the very least.
Yes - you mistranslated this and got completely the wrong end of the stick. This author is a non-Jewish supporter of our cause and I am grateful to him for it. He did not deserve your caustic second sentence.
I am not a Jew, but I have no right to advise how Jews should relate to the writings of Gentiles. I have the right to correct Gentiles for spreading lies and forgetting the truth. Forgetting is the same as turning your back. I have tried to correct what happened a few times myself, and quoted excerpts from here, but they do not go through. Not even in Christian circles, the same silence. I am also not a Christian, I rejected the anti-Semitic interpretation when I studied the scriptures.
The essay was good, but I don't like the attitude where others define how Jews should live, how to act when terrorists are wreaking havoc. Even Europe does not accept it towards itself, but it allows anti-Semitism.
Thanks. This is a useful distinction and I agree with your framing of the 'idea' vs the 'manifestation of the idea'. They are two different issues. The latter needs to be dealt with by police and activism, the former by psychologists.
I say this because I am interested in the process of de-radicalisation, or ne-nazification. Why? Because it seems that we have the most enormous post-war de-radicalisation challenge ahead of us if we ever hope for lasting peace in Gaza or the West Bank. Indoctrination of the 'idea' of jew hatred is so deep (largely thanks to UNRWA schools as Einat Wilf points out so eloquently) that we will need deep psychological interventions to re-educate millions of Palestinian people - the children and their teachers. It took years to de-Nazify that Germans after the war through a concerted and thorough process led by the US, UK and Russia from 1945-50. There were many more Germans than Palestinians, but Palestinians are a pre-enlightenment culture, with weak epistemology, and are far less educated than the 1940s Germans... so this is going to be a very heavy lift and will likely take far more effort than the formal 5 year de-nazification process that the allies led, post war, in Germany. My point is, while you say we need to focus on anti-semitism... I agree with you, but I also caution that we are going to have to become expert (post war) on focussing on the cause, as well as the effect.. The cause is the Jew Hatred - the idea. Jew Hatred needs to be addressed - and I expect this will need to be led by moderate Islam. They have to cure their own people and we will have to support them in doing this. We should start preparing for that now by engaging leading Muslim moderates.
I don’t think psychologists are really capable of treating Jew-hate as though it was some mental health problem. Jew-haters don’t go to psychologists to get cured of their hate and psychologists aren’t trained in how to do so.
The role of a psychologist goes beyond treating mental health conditions. Psychologists are in the business of unravelling and at times intervening to stop or reverse dangerous subconscious or conscious ideas. I don’t expect radical Islamists to volunteer for therapy sessions or for that matter, a de-radicalisation process. But if we are to force de-radicalisation on the brainwashed Palestinians (like we did to the Germans) then psychologists will need to be deeply involved in the process. Otherwise we will only ever deal with the symptom (antisemitism) and not the cause of the problem - the idea (Jew hatred). Does that make my point more clear?
I’m sorry, but I’ve been treated by psychologists all my life and was even raised by one. I have no faith that they are capable of making any impact on reducing Jew-hate.
Sorry you've had such bad experience with psychologists. For clarity, I am not one of them. Which experts would you bring into a room to design a de-radicalization programme for the vast number of children that need to have their heads screwed back on.
Rabbis, priests, pastors, imams, and mystics from all faiths working together to promote interfaith dialogue and friendship. Sort of what they're doing in the UAE with the Abraham House which includes a church, synagogue, and mosque in one building.
OK.... well I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I would take psychologists, educators, political philosophers and legal experts to re-write text books, plan interventions, workshop with children and mothers, and extract and separate out dangerous dissidents and irredeemables. I think these kids have had more than enough mystical and magical thinking and I doubt you'll be able to convince the authorities to allow mass ketamine infusions - which seems to be your tipple. Time for a bit of evidence based, rational structured thought in my view. And I'm fine for a bit of basketball on the side.. yes. ☺️
Thank you for writing this. And thank you for supporting the Jews and the battle against antisemitism.

Zionism in the Age of Dictatorships was written by Mr. Brenner. Two flagsin the Reich were flown. The Zionist and the Nazi.
Indeed we know German Jews worked without dismay for the Reich. https://warfarehistorynetwork.com/article/hitlers-jewish-soldiers/
You quote those forced to collaborate at the point of the gun, like Friedenthal.
What a bunch of Shite.
What a twisted, convoluted, wordy and warped way to justify death and destruction to the Jewish state and its people. Way to go saying you’re no expert on the Jewish people without having to say it! Any other minority groups you’re an expert on? Just the Jews?
Take a pause to learn some history.
Thanks for your thoughtful musings.
My distinction is a lot simpler. I use "Jew Hater" for the simple reason that Arabs are also Semites. People hate Jews. Period.
The vast majority of those people are losers looking to blame their failed lives on someone else they perceive as successful.
A story of someone who turned their life around. https://jewdicious.substack.com/p/how-a-one-time-neo-nazi-flipped-off
I hope Google Translate didn't translate correctly when you say you are one of the non-Jewish members - to tell Jews how they should describe those evil people ........who hate them?
Happy New Year

Yes, it is deeply appreciated that the writer identified as a non Jewish Zionist.
Yes - you mistranslated this and got completely the wrong end of the stick. This author is a non-Jewish supporter of our cause and I am grateful to him for it. He did not deserve your caustic second sentence.
I could not agree with you more PM!
Happy New Year. papa j
Google translated it wrong, not me!
I see this more as a spiritual problem rather than a psychological one. https://www.godofthedesert.org/p/how-multi-faith-mysticism-and-maimonides
I also think that people like Enes Kanter Freedom bringing kids from different religions to basketball camps together would be effective - https://www.jns.org/enes-freedom-announces-plans-for-worlds-biggest-basketball-school-to-bring-abrahamic-faiths-together/
OK.... well I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. And I'm fine for a bit of basketball on the side.. yes. ☺️
I think it's the same thing.
