“Does ridding the world of virulent, violent antisemitism mean battles with death and destruction? Unfortunately, it does at times, not because those who love life want war, but because it is clear that, if there is no battle, then there will be no future for anyone who does love life. And for the battle that is to come we pray everyday for the protection of the innocents, the IDF soldiers (all soldiers of the Western world) and to rid the world of the scourge of Hamas and its ilk.”

Exactly.

Thank you for such a cogent, heart-breaking recitation of how Jews have not been supported by others and far too many other Jews in the past and at this moment. So many Jewish leaders have completely failed living up to the catchy phrase "I've got your back" or the Jewish version of it, which may just be Hillel's, "If I am not for myself, who is for me? When I am for myself, what am I? If not now, when?" (Pirkei 1:14), where "me" is "we." May more "we's" rise up and raise our voices.

I am sitting on the balcony of my hotel, overlooking the beach and the Mediterranean, and pondering this essay. Down below, the city square has been condoned off by police in preparation for the big Purim party. They are testing the sound system which will be used, I'm sure, to drown out the name of Haman. An occasional helicopter gunship flys past over the Sea going south. Any desperado who wishes to harm the Jews will need to first deal with the police (and the rest of us), and I would not want to be on the business end of that gunship. This is how you deal with the Hamans of this world. Kill them and kill them dead. Without apologies and without regrets.

Well put. Charles Schumer has become the pathetic poster child of the kind of American Jew you describe. I am more sickened by him who pretends or claims to stand with the Jew of Israel and America but who betrayed them as soon as it became polticially inconvenient. I don't even care about obviously deranged loons like Peter Beinart. At least he is honest with his hatred.

Rabbi Meir Kahane was right. Man, was he correct! Two-state solution? The IDF and its leadership are warriors, and warriors always win. Israel isn't going anywhere. Certainly not under the thumb of 7th century savages. But every Jewish American must arm themselves. The U.S. Constitution will not protect us. And I, for one, refuse to be part of the Jewish delegation who supports Hamas or any other treacherous terrorist group that wants to eliminate Israel and the Jewish People. I'm gobsmacked by the number of American Jews who embrace the Democratic Party despite the clear and obvious calumnies they support. They're as despicable as the leadership and followers of Black Lives Matter. They can all kiss my Hebrew butt!

Reform Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch has bemoaned the fact that due to the emphasis on Tikun zonal in Reform Judaism far too many graduates of its temples and youth movements are in fact marching for Hamas

I really like Rabbi Hirsch. You can watch his sermons on YouTube. A real rabbi and a mensch.

I think he personally is far more observant and far more pro Israel than many of his colleagues

In other words "Reform Judaism" miseducated its youth to hate its own people in the name of a fake "justice" which is really jihad. Good job.

Look at the public stances of Reform Judaism on all issues including Israel and you will see a religious movement that substituted the Democratic Party platform as a substitute for any particularized Jewish values and still believes in a two state solution which Rabbi Hirsch publicly dissented from recently

this was outstanding. and especially this paragraph:

Above all, I am tired of your hypocrisy. Making pronouncements about the survival of the Jewish People yet blindly following “progressive” politicians whose support for those that celebrate the murder Jewish children is undeniable. I am tired of the Jewish community not seeing the danger that exists in the world, dismissing it as if it’s happening to “those other Jews, the ones who make too much noise.”

Thank you and Shabbat Shalom.

Right on. An esteemed Chabad rabbi of our community stated the same thing to our seniors' group on Wednesday. Purim teaches us to fight back against our enemies, and not expect miracles to save us.

Charles Jacobs and his organization, Americans for Peace and Tolerance, has written for many years now about the failure of Jewish leadership in the “organized” Jewish world to fully recognize and effectively meet the challenges of growing antisemitism in America and the West. We have collectively failed to heed his warnings, and our late-in-the-game efforts, I fear, will fall woefully short.

I especially love the part about NOT supporting politicians or parties -- or the Jewish organizations who support them -- who do not give a darn about Jews, who undoubtedly despise us, although they've accepted our aid and support for years. I will NOT send money to them.

Wonderful essay, I can relate to your feelings of anger totally justified......Now is Purim, and I was thinking we never thank Vashti (the former queen of Persia) after all, if she wouldn't left, we wouldn't have Queen Esther to help the Jews of Persia........chag Purim sameach.....

Bingo! Absolutely correct. Yoram Hazony wrote a wonderful piece about the end of the Purim story, which henceforth made me think the story of the first Court Jew is not as dangerous for Jews as I thought.

Too many people of Jewish background have in fact converted to the Progressive Religion, which condemns all religions and particular traditions in favor of "social justice." They no longer have any loyalty to the Jewish People, but are loyal to the Democrat Party and to "victims" around the world. This means throwing Jews and Israel under the bus in order to demonstrate their "moral virtue."

The too numerous traitors among us like "Jewish" Voices for Peace" and the various "Rabbis" who sign letters calling for a ceasefire and condemning Israel's actions in Gaza think that their lives will be spared. They don't care that their words and actions are used as a shield for antisemites to "prove" their anti-Zionism can't be antisemitism.

Wait, isn’t Ella Emhoff, you know, Kamala’s stepdaughter, a big wig with JVP?

Maybe the author had her in mind as traitor #1 as she could have been the President’s stepdaughter.
