Jews in Israel do NOT have permission to have defensive assault rifles. Forget having one that is automatic. They can't even have the semi-automatic civilian version of a M-16, M4 or Tavor. 6% have a "permit" to have a pistol and 50 rounds of ammo. Think a Glock 9mm.

So no weapons of consequence or no weapons at all when the next invasion comes.

The murders, rapes and hostage taking are just waiting to happen in Ayosh (Shomron and Yehuda.)

The solution is Armed Civilian Militia. For all those who are of sound mind. Training and organised as Militia, and staffed by both women and men, when they are not serving in the IDF.

John Galt III's avatar

and that was exactly what Colonel Orde Wingate of the British Army taught in The Palestine Mandate in the 1930's when he trained Jewish men to become his "Night Fighters" and to take the fight to the Arabs. Moshe Dayan said Wingate taught them everything they knew as to how to fight. Wingate was the real deal. There is a street named after him in Jerusalem. His higher ups in the British Army didn't appreciate him much.

You can read his biography called Fire in The Night.

You would think the modern state of Israel would pay attention to what he did and therefore form Armed Civilian Militias because just about everyone in Israel has been in the IDF at one time or another.

The Left won't like it because going all the way back to Ben Gurion, the Left has not liked armed Israelis not in an official army like the Haganah or IDF. Ben Gurion didn't like The Irgun or Stern Gang, hence the "Altalena Affair"

Too bad - Israel is way past that point now.

It's been done before with great success - do it again.

There's the Orde Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports just south of Netanya, named after him.

Yes, there is a bit of a love/hate relationship by the British towards Jews and Israel right now, but these things pass. Much respect to British fighters and fighting power which built the Western Empire which is still going strong. Best wishes.

One of the Gaza envelope kibbutzim that was attacked on October 7 had weapons, but the police convinced them to keep them secured in an armory. That building was taken over by Hamas and most of the residents left undefended as a result.

Quit referring to Judea Samaria as the West Bank! It is Israel.

During Israel’s war of independence, Jordanian forces moved into Judea and Samaria and remained there after the war had ended, when they drew up armistice lines with Israel. Several years later Jordan annexed Judea and Samaria, illegally, as the land had been designated by the international community for the Jewish State. Jordan renamed Judea and Samaria the “West Bank” since it sat on the west bank of the Jordan River. The term is still propagated today by those who reject and wish to end Israel’s rightful control of the land.the Palestinian Authority (PA), a corrupt government presided over by a leader who has not held elections for his office in the 14 years he has held it. The PA incites its people to violence against Jews, pays salaries to terrorists in Israeli prisons, and educates its children to hate Israel. The United Nations and countless other organizations call Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria illegal, despite the fact that the land was mandated for a Jewish State by the League of Nations, and no other nation has exercised legitimate sovereignty over it.

Y. Andropov's avatar

That is very disingenuous. It's not Israel if the inhabitants aren't Israeli. It is and must remain occupied territory, which is legitimate under international law if anyone cares about what international law permits.

and you shouldn't comment about something you obviously know nothing about.

LEGITIMATE INTERNATIONAL LAW-Balfour Declaration & Mandate: The Mandate incorporated the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which supported a Jewish national home in Palestine, and was formally approved by the League of Nations Council in 1922.

Y. Andropov's avatar

So the inhabitants of the West Bank are Israelis?

Michal Martin's avatar

FYI, Judea and Shomron are not "occupied" per any international laws but rather considered disputed territories captured after a war of aggression started by the occupiers of the territory at the time. It's Israel's land actually.

Y. Andropov's avatar

If they are now Israeli so are the inhabitants.

Michal Martin's avatar

I don't abide the term "Arab Israeli". I prefer we call them what they are, "Arabs". As they are predominantly an extremely hostile group, the overtly terrorist element should be deported to Jordan so they can live with their brethren. Any future terrorist criminal would either be deported or receive the death penalty if a murder or devastating injury was committed. The remainder could be permanent residents for the time being.

Y. Andropov's avatar

So you would allow them to vote in Israeli elections or would you prefer Bantustans?

Michal Martin's avatar

We need to undo the Oslo debacle first, since it has been violated by the Arabs many times over. We are accused of apartheid no matter what the truth is or what we do, so no, I would not want the enemy to be allowed to vote in our elections. Much has to change before that could be allowed. We need to start a de-Jihadism program of the Arabs in Yuda and Shomron, starting with school curriculums and textbooks. Hopefully we will see a huge Aliyah of our people in the near future. We should accelerate the destruction of illegal Arab building and begin building Israeli communities to house the new immigrants.

Raphael's avatar

Doesn't the U.N. surpercede the League of Nations?

John Galt III's avatar

Yes and in November 1947 the UN agreed in a vote to a partition The Palestine Mandate into a permanent Jewish part later to become in 1948 the modern state of Israel.

Steve S's avatar

Israel needs to change its laws on firearms possession to allow citizens to possess handguns, shotguns, and rifles, with authority to possess up to 300 rounds of ammunition. Most citizens know gun safety and handling from their military experience, but classes should be held to emphasize firearms safe handling and storage.

John Galt III's avatar

Exactly - great idea

Stephen Schecter's avatar

This is why Israel, after taking over Gaza, has to send the army into Judea and Samaria, dismantle the PA, kill all the PLO leadership and members, then lock-down the Muslims who remain and do not want to leave once Israel extends sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria. For those who do not understand how a modern democracy like Israel can do such a thing, they have to learn to think outside the box. A new political vocabulary is need beyond that of modern democracy, which has proven incapable of preserving decency, offering safe civil life while the benefits of modernity proceed apace, and protecting Jews. The West is collapsing. Jewish Israel should not follow suit. Do not wait until the Palestinian gangsters in Judea and Samaria have launched an all-out attack. Do not rely on America, for it will not provide you with salvation, not even normalization, which is another word for perennial insecurity.

People have lived in the Gaza Strip for thousands of years. Hamas needs to be erased; but those people themselves have every right to continue to live where they've lived for millenia.

Stephen Schecter's avatar

Actually, not too many people have lived in Gaza, and the current population has not lived there for thousands of years. Most of them are descendants of Arabs who moved there once Zionists returned to their homeland and started developing the country. When Muslims under the British Mandate carried out pogroms against Jews who lived in Gaza, the British forcibly evacuated the Jews from there. After the 1948 war the UN extended refugee status to all Gazans who had been there for as little as two years prior to the outbreak of war and then, contrary to international refugee law, extended the same status to all children and grandchildren and great grandchildren of said Gazans, such that today they number around 1.8 million people, none of whom are descendants of people who have lived there for thousands of years. On top of which, when you start a vicious war against another people and lose, you also lose the right to the land where you resided from which you launched that war. If Israel conquered Gaza entirely and locked down the Muslims who wish to remain there, the latter should consider themselves lucky to be alive and be able to work for a living.

Cici Peacock's avatar

Gazans didn't start the bullshit; Hamas did and the PLO before that. These 1.8 million people aren't members of Hamas or Palestine Jihad, and weren't members of Arafat's PLO. Theyre just a bunch of poor people living in tent camps in an open air prison and under the control of Hamas and IDF.

Cici Peacock's avatar

Im a Jew and Ill be the first to say you're lying. Thutmose III talked about Gaza and its population by name in the 15th century BC. In the 1500s the Ottoman Empire scribes wrote about the Semitic people's living there. The Egyptions owned Gaza after the Ottomans and until they lost it in 1967. If you want to rewrite history; do that with some idiot who'll believe you. Don't try that with me.

Stephen Schecter's avatar

The Egyptians did not own Gaza after the Ottomans. Gaza was part of British Mandate Palestine. Egypt conquered it in 1948 after joining the Arab Muslim war against Israel. The Gazans are not just a bunch of poor people living in tents in an open air prison. The Gazans are people who voted for Hamas and endorsed their policies and even today a majority of them approved the attack for October 7, in which many of these so-called poor people participated with glee and sexual depravity. Furthermore, they were not living in tents before October 7, but perhaps you did not see the luxury villas on the beachfront and the shopping malls and the well-fed rounded people who live off international charity while harbouring resentment over a nakba that did not happen except in their self-inflicted murderous designs on the nascent Jewish state. By the way, some of those people living in Gaza for thousands of years were Jews!

Laura's avatar

Not if the Gazans refuse to live in peace with Jews. And since they won't, they need to be expelled and Israel needs to exercise sovereignty from the river to the sea.

Stay Strong Israel! You are not alone. We are the Bulwark against Islam, Nazism and the totalitarianism that History teaches us attempt to destroy Civilisation wherever those three try to take root. The Guardians of The West know this too. Thus we have many friends, Israel! So be of strong heart and stay strong. Israel you have many friends.

My heart goes out to these people, I can’t imagine how terrible it must be to live in fear everyday. 🙏

"Tulkarem, a Palestinian city with a refugee camp from Israel’s 1948 War of Independence" is an amazing statement to me because the Gazaniacs build nothing and destroy whatever exists while they play their Islamic games and instead of going where they CAN thrive they purposely remain in these camps. Ridiculous. Also, "because we have to let them earn a living" is absurd. Let their moneyed supporters around the world pay them because they are a physical cancer on Éretz Yisra'él when they're in the country and don't use the "they do jobs Israelis won't do" excuse. Look what the gastarbeiter have done TO Germany, as an example.

Cici Peacock's avatar

Israel absolutely needs an act that roughly clones US militia act of 1792. Every able bodied Israel needs to possess arms and ammo and be able to muster into a militia to defend from invasion. Every Israeli should have two Galils, two Jerichos, and 1K rounds of 223 and 9mm. It's absurd that Israeli citizens are basically sitting ducks.

Y. Andropov's avatar

That's on Aman (military intelligence). The unfathomable intelligence fail on Oct 7 won't be repeated on the West Bank because of Oct 7. It's like 9/11--you learn. And, of course, the West Bank is occupied and the IDF can arrest terror suspects with ease.

John Galt III's avatar

Judea and Samaria are Israel.

In the 1948 war Jordan took Judea and Samara. In the 1967 War, Israel too their own land back.

You can't "occupy" your own land. You just live there.

Y. Andropov's avatar

Then the inhabitants are Israelis and should be issued Israeli passports and identity cards, and be allowed to move freely into Israel like other Israelis? Take down the barrier wall?

ymg's avatar

Oslo Accords @Y. Andrapov. Oslo Accords. And perhaps you can remind the class when the barrier wall went up and why.

Y. Andropov's avatar

Because the inhabitants of the West Bank are Palestinian citizens and are not Israelis, unless they are Jewish settlers with Israeli passports.

ymg's avatar

Hilarious. Looks like Y. Andropov is another ignoramus. Not a surprise. Pro-Hamas anti-Palestinian Western poseur morons like you run from facts like vampires run from sunlight. It's hilarious.

One more chance to answer true: when did the barrier wall go up and why? Bet that your twee attempt to avoid answering true will be hilarious.

Y. Andropov's avatar

I am a very devout Zionist who knows that the inhabitants of the West Bank are Arabs who tend to hate Israelis and are not Israelis. The West Bank is occupied by Israel, legally, under international law. if Israel were to annex the West Bank and give Israeli citizenship to Abbas & Co. it would create an insuperable demographic problem if Israel desires to remain a Jewish state.

It's my understanding that Mossad knew about 9-11 well before it happened and kept quiet because they wanted it to happen so USA would destroy Iraq and Afghanistan. Mossad spies were dancing when it happened. I wouldn't be at all shocked if Mossad and CIA already knew before Oct 7th but wanted it to happen so they could roll into Gaza and crush Hamas. You'd be surprised how much money the military made on 9-11. It was in the trillions. And by the time Gaza ia over that will be in the trillions too. Folks dont give the business oligarchs that own the military industrial complex enough credit for being sneaky and evil.

Y. Andropov's avatar

Your understanding is devoid of evidence.

Cici Peacock's avatar

No it isnt. Famous Ex CIA do videos on YouTube. You're just devoid.

Laura's avatar

They don't have to do shit. It is not incumbent upon Israelis to provide them with a living, especially since it is a hostile population dangerous to the lives of Jews.

What Israel should do but won't is expel the Arabs squatting in Judea-Samaria. Force them back into Jordan. Force Jordan to absorb them, they are THEIR people.

Also, the Jewish people living adjacent to those Arab communities need to be armed to the teeth. Unfortunately, the Kibbutz communities near Gaza were not armed.

......................................................................................................................................................................................................

Tirza noted that thousands of Palestinians enter Israel illegally to work each day and not much has been done to stop it, “because we have to let them earn a living.”

The Israeli defense establishment still does not understand the mindset of our neighbors.

After the 7th of October 2023, you would expect a different attitude towards those who are hell bent on destroying you.

After what has happened on 7th October 23, do not wait for anyone to come to save you in case of a similar situation. Be ready, be vigilant, every town must have their own fully armed and trained teams ready to protect their town, village or city until the cavalry arrives. Alarm systems and surveillance cameras watched 24/7. Never lay down your guard. We have no choice but to live on our swords in this jungle forever.
