How has Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu come to be seen as the embodiment of evil? Is he really the monster that the media often portrays him to be?
For quite a while now, I have been convinced that the demonising of Netanyahu is nothing but Jew-hatred. The horrifying cartoons of him as a cannibal or a vampire, with blood dripping from his fangs. make this perfectly clear. As you say, there is no comparable demonising of mass murderers, past or present, such as Idi Amin, Khameini, Assad, or even Stalin or Pol Pot.
I agree! These idiotic states are condemning Netanyahu as the devil in this. He has handled Gaza in the only way he could. He is being used as a target by these useless politicians because it is convenient. How dare they! They have single handedly made the plight of the hostages worse! Hamas will want to keep them until the bitter end. It makes my blood boil!!!
Have any of these self hating Jews read the Quran and maybe Hamas and the PA’s charters. They hide nothing they want us dead. All 15 million of us DED dead. They are very clear about it. Am Yisroel chai, Kahane chai.
It has been painful to hear so many American (and Israeli) Jews—Leftys of course—vent their hatred towards Netanyahu. It is well-beyond rational criticism, much like TDS, and they are blind to the hypocrisy and self-destructiveness of their obsessive loathing.
It is the primordial morality which is the life blood of mainstream western intellectuals that is at root of the hatred for Israel.
Israel is modern, western, secular, productive and proud, and she is surrounded by a sea of mystic savages.
That is why she is hated. Not for her faults, whatever they may be.
Israel is hated for her virtues. That is what the blood drenched mainstream intellectuals cannot abide. They hate Israel and they hate America, for the same reasons.
Their creed, as Rand put it many years ago is; “Hatred of the good for being the good”.
That is the enemy that the west faces, and few, but not all, fail to recognize it for what it is.
As to Israel’s conduct of the war in Gaza, it has been an exercise in self-sacrifice. Oh, they are so careful to minimize casualties of Gazan “civilians”.
Israel would have been justified in wiping Gaza off the map, and should have done so, in a matter of days. There are no “civilians” in the ranks of any aggressor who would dare to attack its peaceful neighbor.
The aggressor is responsible for all casualties, those of its neighbor, and those of its populace.
And, all this blather about Netanyahu is really only a smokescreen for the vicious Antisemitism that has inundated America over the last quarter century.
The NYT has a long and sorry record of reporting and editorials that suit its narrative as opposed to the facts on the ground on such issues as the rise of Communism Nazism the Holocaust and all issues related to the right of Israel to defend itself
For our Western liberal ruling class, everything from Hamas to Islamism to Muslim immigration to Europe are like a Medusa that they cannot bring themselves to face squarely, as facing and accepting what these things actually are would both contradict much of their sacred dogma and also would require them to fight to protect their countries, peoples, and allies, which would be bad for business and for their careers.
Simply listening to Hamas, Abbas and all their backers and allies would reveal: the Palestinians don't want and have never wanted their own state, they want to destroy the Jewish state; the Palestinians already had their own state, as Hamas ruled Gaza alone from 2007-2023 and the result of this was the theft of billions to build a terrorist army and the tunnels to hide them in, all leading to the ultimate expression of their culture and political aspirations: the 10/7 massacre. But really the hardest thing for Western liberals to swallow is: there are no possible concessions, no treaties or ceasefires or donor conferences, that are ever going to transform the Palestinians into placid tolerant liberals. There has never been a Palestinian peace movement, there has never been a Palestinian group or leader committed to peaceful coexistence—and there most likely never will be.
Thus all this anger, frustration and performative compassion need an outlet and Netanyahu is the handy scapegoat. The Western media cannot place any blame on the Palestinians (for the reasons I stated, but also because once a group becomes a sacred victim class under the Social Justice dispensation, they are placed beyond agency and responsibility, can never DO but only be DONE TO), cannot come out and just say they oppose the Jewish state and want to see it humiliated, and are most comfortable fighting and vilifying conservatives, as they are the true liberal enemy and outgroup. Also, Netanyahu serves a valuable purpose for liberal American Jews, who can avoid standing up for the Jewish state (which is dangerous now) by just ranting about Bibi and hoping this gets them off the hook and saves their skin.
Excellent article. Netanyahu, and his record as Prime Minister, is more complicated than either his followers or his critics can admit. The belief that he is the sole cause of the war's continuation and the continued incarceration of the hostages when Hamas keeps refusing ceasefire offers (and broke the ceasefires that Netanyahu agreed to) is simply wrong. Although I can't imagine the Hell that the hostage families are going through, the emphasis on calling on the Israeli government to "bring them home" was a mistake and put blame where it should not be; they should have called on Hamas to "let them go." The repeated presentation of Netanyahu in the Western media as a blood-stained vampire or Nazi is antisemitism, pure and simple.
Hamas’ primary strategy of massacring Jews to wet the appetite of the antisemitic world, then maximizing civilian suffering to embolden the full flowering of millions’ most basest instincts - the hatred for the “collective Jew” - has been triumphantly vindicated beyond their wildest dreams.
Excellent article. Ben Gvir and the other guy serve no purpose but as a bogey man for the Israel haters. For all his faults and he has many Netanyahu has not done a bad job in fighting this six front war. However, once this war is over, he must go and never come back as Prime Minister. He has long outlived his usefulness. It’s funny, but you are right, outside of Trump I think he has the most recognizable name in the world.
That's not a dilemma at all or shouldn't be. That is a very easy choice. Of course, protecting Israeli lives is what matters. What other country on earth would or would be expected to put the lives of enemy populations ahead of its own? That's an insane demand which singularly applies to Israel.
As to the things Bibi is accused of an on trial for, they are extremely trivial.
Many decisions that a wartime leader makes will result in deaths. Netanyahu faces an impossible dilemma: weighing the tragic toll of civilian deaths in Gaza against the imperative to protect future Israeli lives
The NYT is one of the world's premier antisemitic newspapers, up there with the BBC and most western media. At least the Beijing Daily makes no bones about its news being subservient to the Party. I pay no attention to anything the NYT says. I would not even use it for toilet paper. Nor would I spend much time answering any of these charges other than by sending in the troops. I suspect Netanyahu is still worried about pushback from western so-called friendly nations when he ponders what to do next, but then he also does not regard the Palestinians as the perennial existential threat to Israel which they are. Clobbering them would dispel most of the blather that comes out of the assholes of western leaders and their fake news sycophants.
Don’t fret too much about the NYT. Like the Left Liberal papers here in the UK, they were infiltrated years ago by AntiSemitic Elements in The State, who write stuff in these papers using any of their journalists and editors when they want, for senior Arab and Nazi clients.
Shalom shel Malta chaverim sheli. If the world had more Prime Ministers like PM Netanyahu, the world won't be in the chaos it is now. PM Netanyahu is an all rounder - a diplomat without being an appeaser, a military who respects humanity, and a politician who is not afraid to call a spade a spade whatever the cost, and who puts Israel first and foremost...whether other states like it or not. I'd give everything to live in Israel...at least I'll know that I'll have a PM who cares about his people and about the country and I'll be with the large number of friends who by time became mispocha.
You give the NY Times and most mainstream media outlets far too much credit. They dont bend journalistic standards. They have none to bend.

This is how the woke left and supporters of Hamas devour their own for any deviation from the party line

Yes, and morally disgusting.
It’s TDS with even more fake righteousness.
As Michael Oren put it on FDD, it’s solipsism dressed up as altruism.
