Not the Palestinians and their various leadership groups, not the Israelis, not the Middle East and North Africa, not the United Nations, not even the U.S. and the European Union. No one.
Liars will nod and say ok, we accept your terms, then pick up where they left off. I say believe their actions not their ability to play the game of politics. When someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt. There is nothing to doubt. It is all clear as daylight. Israel is surrounded by bloodthirsty hounds, sharks, hyenas, vultures all just hungry and conscienceless. Treat them as such. They don't see the humanity in Israel, and provoke hatred all over the world. It's time for a clean break from this on-going toxic relationship.
At this point in time I will never believe there can be a "Palestinian" state, nor will I trust Abbas whose doctoral thesis was about the denial of the Holocaust, or anyone associated with a so called "peace deal," ever. All I can envision is a deal that will benefit Palestinians and not Israelis. Does the deal elaborate on how to cleanse the Palestinians of generations of Jew hating indoctrination? That will not disappear with a deal, not for many, many years, if at all. The UN was mentioned, but what about UNRWA and the Jew hating curriculum they teach. Will that be disbanded, too? I just heard some of the lessons taught to 1st and 4th graders. As an educator, hearing these "lessons" was beyond my comprehension and imagination. The UNRWA school cannot continue as a vessel for hate. It seems to me creating a Palestinian state is only a small step, the organizations such as the World Court, EU, Humanitarian organizations, universities. etc. need a reprogramming for their antisemitic thinking. Now that Biden and other leaders feel good about their plan, Israel must also deal with Hezbollah and Iran. Have these leaders considered this; that Hezbollah has over 120,000 rockets ready to be fired into Israel, or is that just a blip in their planning? If they think their plan is too good to be true, then it probably is.
The West’s mistake, oddly enough, could be called “Orientalism.” We are looking at the problem through Western lenses rather than accept the framing the Arabs continue to use - and they are not shy about telling everyone about.
First, to pretend that the Palestinian “cause” is a national liberation one is to fall for the rebranding performed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War that was expressly meant to appeal to the vocabulary of the West. The argument is not over borders or civil rights. It is entirely a religious issue that stems from Mohammed’s final direction to his followers: Islam is destined to conquer the world and they are to implement that goal by conquest. As a result, one doctrine holds that any conquered lands remain part of the “waqf” (Islamic trust) even if lost as in, for instance, the Iberian Peninsula and, since 1917 what is today Israel.
This doctrine converges with the one that holds the Jews to be the “greatest enemy” of Islam and who will be annihilated in the Muslim version of the End Times. So the very existence and success of Israel is a theological affront of the first magnitude that, if allowed to stand, could undermine the edifice of a certain interpretation of Islam.
To the Western mind as a general matter, this religious framing appears quaint and unserious, and therefore can be safely ignored and replaced with our more considered judgment of the issue. This is, as it might be called, a category mistake. We need to attend to what the Arabs say among themselves or we are addressing the wrong problem. At least we should take their religiosity seriously under the “know your enemy” principle.
The other Western imposition is the idea of the “nation state” as the way Arabs conceive their governmental unit. For better or worse, the customary mode of governing is clandestine based with the sheik as the headman (to use an old term). In the words attributed to the Egyptian diplomat Tahseen Bashir, “Egypt is the only state in the Arab world; the rest are just tribes with flags.” So the vision might better be a grouping of emirates that cobbled together constitute what we could still call “Palestine.”
As to the topic at issue, the Palestinians will continue to reject any formulation of their state that requires recognizing Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people with a right to exist in peace. It seems that the fixation on creating a State of Palestine is being pushed by the West rather than the Arabs who now see their national interest tied to a strong and stable Israel that they need for their defense against Iran. They won’t openly oppose the West on the point, but once Palestinian intransigence rears its inevitable head, the betting is that the Abraham Accord expands on the basis of some vague “vision” of a political timeline for the Palestinians and an anti-Iran coalition coalesces around Israel and Saudi Arabia. Changing Palestinian minds, warped by generations of indoctrination, will require generations to undo. Until then, the conflict will need to be managed.
What’s motivating Biden? Winning the election – or at least keeping the good graces of anti-Israel players who are very likely padding his Swiss bank account from the “sunny skies of Qatar” and elsewhere. Biden needs to make real gestures they will appreciate. And he wants to reverse his lack of popularity among his anti-Israel Dem party base: younger Democrats, black and Latino Americans and, increasingly, Muslim Americans. Biden has clearly gone over to the dark side. No Democrat or Republican has ever sunk so low. We must accept that the Islamo/Leftist Alliance now controls the West. Woke dogma embraced the so-called Palestinian cause decades ago and applies the same irrationality to them as it does to other minorities it deems “the privileged oppressed”. The evidence is in every call by a Western country for Israel to cease fire; by the huge on-going anti-Israel violence in Britain, Ireland, Canada, Australia, France and more. Protests these governments allow because they have embraced wokism and are scared to offend their large Muslim populations, not to mention the Muslim states they are dependent upon for fossil fuel. Russia and China are laughing at all this, of course. The Islamo/Leftist alliance helps them, indirectly, in countless ways. What can we Jews – in Israel and the Diaspora do?
1) Support Israel. Support our local Jewish communities. Spread our messages far and wide. Stop supporting leftist causes even if Jews run them.
2) Tell Bibi to stay tough (his office accepts emails) and that whoever replaces him stays tough, too. NO COMPROMISES. It's total war until Hamas is gone. Police Gaza for the foreseeable future. No carving up Israel. Jerusalem and Judea/Samaria are part of Israel. No Palestinian state for the foreseeable future.
3) Focus on making strategic alliances to defend Israel and help fund Israel’s own capacity to develop and manufacture new defense systems. Impossible you say? The evil we are experiencing now has the air of the “metaphysical” about it. So trash your doubts and embrace G-d. It’s a miracle we are still here. In Israel and elsewhere. More miracles will happen. I have no doubt.
Great response Susan! Though I am not sure I agree that Biden has gone over to the 'dark side.' Many of us are terrified of another Trump presidency which was absolute chaos here in the U.S. Biden is trying to get the vote to appease the left wing woke voters. It's possible that if he is re-elected, he may then have more freedom to be more supportive of Israel. But I really appreciate everything else you say- especially your clarity and strength when it comes to what Israel needs to do. Thank you for this. I agree with your expression in a previous post- Israel needs to become a BADASS!
No Democrat or Republican would be doing what Biden is doing now. He is evil. Trump certainly is problematic but his policies were good for the US and Israel. Yes, Trump provokes the left into violence but so does everything the left doesn't agree with. The US must decide what kind of country it wants to be and go with the candidate who's policies and actions reflect this. Biden is a puppet of the Islamo/Leftist alliance. Trump is not and has suffered for it, personally and financially. I can tell you one thing: if Biden wins you can kiss the USA goodbye. It will become no better than Britain and every other defeated country. Russia and China, together with a fundamentalist Islamic bloc will rule the world.
Here is where I disagree Susan. Trump was a disaster on so many levels. And I trust him as far as I can throw him on Israel. The man has some serious narcissistic psychopathology.
Trump completely abused his presidential power for personal and political gain.
His most severe abuse of power was his relentless effort to undermine the 2020 election and overturn the legitimate results. It was a form of a political coup d’état against our Constitution.
Throughout the 2020 campaign, he spread provably false disinformation about the voting process.
After Trump lost, he falsely claimed victory and pressured election officials in battleground states to fraudulently throw out millions of votes for Biden. He called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to harangue the GOP official to “find” just enough votes to nullify Biden’s narrow victory in that state.
Trump’s legal team filed dozens of meritless lawsuits alleging fraud, which were rejected by a bipartisan array of federal and state judges, and even the conservative Supreme Court. When these efforts failed, Trump unsuccessfully tried to coerce then-Vice President Mike Pence to unlawfully override the Electoral College process and block Biden’s victory in Congress.
His actions threatened the very existence of our constitutional democracy.
Trump’s attempts to cling to power reached a horrifying crescendo on January 6, when he incited a large gathering of supporters in Washington to attack the US Capitol while the electoral votes were being counted.
The protests quickly transformed into a violent mob, which stormed the building, leading to five deaths.
The incident led to Trump’s second impeachment by the House.
The above is just one of MANY offenses he committed in office. He was so incompetent that our government lost many exceptionally experienced individuals who just could not work under his chaotic and divisive presidency.
He also expressed admiration for dictators and 'strongmen' like Putin who would EASILY take advantage of him and manipulate him. AND he would completely isolate NATO - he just threatened to sacrifice NATO allies for Russia!
While I would have loved another much stronger candidate (like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr who is brilliant and a real supporter of Israel), I fear what would happen to our country under another Trump presidency. Netanyahu reminds me of Trump and I have no doubt that his own divisiveness weakened Israel and they took their eyes off the ball on Oct. 7th. ALL of this happened under Netanyahu's watch. He should have resigned by now. Although I appreciate his hard line against the global community, there are others that can do that job now without his history which is causing so much dissension within Israel now. Israel needs to be UNITED right now to fight a common enemy. They all need to stand behind someone the majority can support for their own survival.
I would appreciate if Joshua can write something about Netanyahu. I would love to learn more about why so many Israelis dislike him, besides what I read in the press and from some Israelis I know.
Some of my other comments to you addressed the election business. But I still maintain that despite Trump's irritating personality and communication style (yes, I do have problems with it) many of his policies put the US on the right track. 1) His efforts to stop illegal immigration and limit immigration from radical Islamist countries was absolutely right. Too bad other Western countries didn't follow suit. BTW: I don't blame the Dems alone for America's horrendous immigration policies. Republican presidents were also to blame. The Dems did it to grow their voters. The GOP to benefit from cheap labor. Either way, they sold their country out. All Trump did was try to reverse that. 2) Trump's enabling the US fossil fuel industry to sell abroad freely kept other oil producing countries (like Russia and the Arabs) from getting too powerful. Biden reversed this and look where we are now. 3) Trump's focus on getting big companies back to the US (and hiring Americans) was right, too. 4) Trump removed excess regulations in many areas which incentivized American business. That's a good thing unless you're a socialist/communist. And I don't know of any country that went communist or socialist that is doing well. Finally - Trump made some good moves for Israel. Not funding the Pallies and Iran. Promoting peace through commerce with the Abraham Accords. Not to mention moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, Israel's one and only capital which some countries fail to acknowledge. So if I was a Jewish American, I'd wince at some of Trump's comments and vote for him. BTW: I'm not interested in his past business dealings, his taxes and so forth. I only care about what he does that directly affects the US, Israel and the world. So sue me!
I do not watch TV. I get my news from my own research and experience as an American who lived under his disastrous presidency. Stop with the name calling and assumptions.
You have clearly researched the side you wanted to research. Essentially you came at the issue with an anti-Trump bias and built your case to support it. Still, that is worth something. Were I to take this topic on I would research both sides. There was plenty of stuff in the conservative US media to start with, including Dem efforts at election fraud with mail-in ballots; lost ballots, etc. This time around I hope Americans of all political persuasions have the brains and the grit to insist upon measures to prevent election fraud - including the use of photo ID. I'm Canadian and not too happy with this country at the moment but at least we have the common sense to require photo ID to register for voting and we still use paper ballots.
People who resolutely refuse to acknowledge the Luciferian nature of China Joe and the Democrats generally are the despair of the board at World Israel News.
They ask " What is WRONG with Jews who support Demonrats and those that remain in France and Germany instead of getting out while they can"?
It is the fault of the Democratic party for not providing a viable candidate for election. All this name calling has been normalized by Trump and needs to stop. Calling Biden evil is kindergarten behavior.
The Democrat party has not come up with another candidate because it doesn't have one that its moderates and extremists will agree upon. As for your labeling my use of the word evil as "kindergarten behavior", I would expect nothing less from someone with a closed mind. BTW: My original comment never mentioned Trump once. What I mentioned in my reply to DocSue about him is true. Your mentioning him as you did smacks of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Biden is doing everything he can to destroy this country.
He has intentionally depleted our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to disastrously low levels, he has depleted our weaponry and ammunition and neither can be replenished on an emergency basis.
If we were to acquire the fuel tomorrow, it would take years to refill the reserve.
If we start building ammunition and armament factories now it will be 3 years before they come online.
Our main enemies have hypersonic missile capability, we do not.
Biden is trying to keep the war the CIA started in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Nazis going, even though they have no chance whatsoever of prevailing long enough to get a World War started so we will certainly lose and China Joe will please his Luciferian masters with the bang up job he is doing of destroying our nation.
His government issues nonsense for financial reports, deliberately manipulating data to produce fraudulent reports.
We don't have a nickel to give anyone. Every penny is borrowed and China Joe can't waste it fast enough.
He is a Demon and supporting him is something to be deeply ashamed of.
Another extremist. You cannot just make absurd statements like this and expect me to believe them just because you said them. And name calling and accusations undermine whatever you say. I stand by everything I said about Trump. And the majority of Americans know it.
There has been no journey to the Dark Side for China Joe.
He is a lifelong Luciferian, and as a group, they run the world and have done for a very long time.
Though it is debated as to what is the controlling power it's a pretty silly debate.
Following the ever popular money trail leads inevitably to The Crown, as does honest history.
The conservative estimate of those killed in British Genocides around the planet is 25 million dead, often through starvation " Scorched Earth Warfare" since at least the 12th century, in Ireland.
If you look at a list of nations and territories controlled through history, you will be astounded.
The list goes on for pages and pages, in tiny type.
And no country has made a clean break, including the USA.
Like most evil institutions, their public face is far contrary to reality.
Ridiculously low figures for the wealth of the monarchy are published in the mid hundreds of millions.
The Crown Lands alone are valued at $80 billion.
Also, none of the other contenders have M-15, M-16, the SAS, Royal Army, Navy, Air force and the government's and military of the former Commonwealth Countries at their disposal.
The perfidy of the British Monarchy is well documented, including their support of Hitler.
Even the sixties drug culture is credibly traced to The Crown though their Tavistock Institute.
No one could be more aware of Tavistock than the Rolling Stones, hence their album "Her Satanic Majesties Request".
I stress all this because it seems the essential nature of the conflict gets overlooked with all the different angles being continually debated.
The essential conflict is Good vs Evil and the angle deserving the most focus is Prophesy.
This will not likely resolve until "Armegeddon", and it is important to realize that "Armegeddon" is specifically God's Vengeance on Jew Haters.
That last sentence is why I can not see any talk of a two state solution as anything but insane as defined by expecting a new result from the same endlessly failed plan.
Wonderful post Joshua, filled with clarity and courage, like Susan Hirshhorn's comment below. I do hope that more Israelis read these posts. I find them truly inspiring and energizing. We've got to spread these positive, realistic, strong and clear words to more people - it's all about energy! The less victimization energy the better. Israel needs all of our support- I like some of Susan's suggestions below.
Bravo, Joshua! Everything is presented correctly, consistently, logically. If politicians around the world also adhered to logic, consistency and rationality, it would be good.
I thought I wouldn't be able to add anything, but I still have something.
I would like to ask those who support the idea of a Palestinian state:
Is it moral to give a state to people who do not agree to live in peace with the Jewish state, who not only declare their readiness to destroy Israel, but also prove it with many years of terror and shamelessly do not stop, even when you try to give them this gift?
Is it moral to give state awards for murder, war, bullying, torture and terror? After all, this is how they perceive your actions. Terror is rewarded, but brutal terror is rewarded tenfold?
Do you act morally to motivate murderers and rapists, sadists and psychopaths?
You are creating a state in which normal people will not have the opportunity to exist normally. They too will have to become terrorists and murderers.
Is it moral to create a society of murderers that, even before its creation, declares that it will kill?
This is what I would like to ask those who want a Palestinian state.
I’ll tell you a secret, I’ve already asked these questions to supporters of this idea.
The Palestinians will never agree to a two state solution, no matter the terms. Why doesn’t Biden present a proposal and get Palestinians to sign off on it before he bothers Israelis with hostages missing, grieving their dead and trying to stop terrorists?
It would be very wrong to reward Hamas with a two state solution after the barbaric attacks of October 7.
But it would also take Palestinians who have a possible answer to any sort of peace process besides ‘no.’ Sci-fi Palestinians.
Just such an accurate telling of events! The entire situation is unreal. This so called ‘two state solution’ can never take place. The situation would be a constant reliving of the October 7 massacre. These people know that! Biden is facilitating his own vote. These people are liars and appeasers they are cowardly and they know the truth.
Liars will nod and say ok, we accept your terms, then pick up where they left off. I say believe their actions not their ability to play the game of politics. When someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt. There is nothing to doubt. It is all clear as daylight. Kol hakavod. You have addressed all of the salient points in your analysis.

Absolute drivel. I hope you have someone looking after you.
That last sentence is why I can not see any talk of a two state solution as anything but insane as defined by expecting a new result from the same endlessly failed plan.
Insanity.
Great piece.
🙏
Do you know how I felt after I asked them?
What am I talking to the wall.
I agree with every word of this! Never give in. The horror of October 7 will continue to haunt you. This useless solution is Joe Bidens appeasement
