Excellent post. I am not Jewish, either, but wish to stand in support. Thus, I appreciate every piece of insight I can gain. We need to stand up for Israel and the Jewish people.
I cannot speak for other Jews but the most painful part for me is the silence of my friends and the silence of what I hope is the silent majority. I am an old person and in my past, I marched for Civil Rights, Gay Rights, Women Liberation etc. and I expected to see them marching and advocating for me and for all Jews but unfortunately it has been relatively quiet. Even when there are messages they tend to be weak and generic and inclusive of other groups.
Bottom line ..... When people like you do speak up ... it means more than you might imagien.
I am also not a Jew. I just had the good fortune to have married a Jew and my children and grandchildren are Jewish. I will continue to unhappily listen to the b.s. from the Jew haters that passes for informed thinking. But let them know this. I will willingly "keep my shield bright and my intentions true" in defense of my family. And, I practice every week.
The only comments with which I disagree are those which reference how all Jews view Israel. Sadly and tragically, there are many Jews in the Diaspora who care nothing about Israel, or worse, have antipathy towards Israel. They are typically Uber-Progressive individuals, who would rather be “accepted” by their fellow Leftists than support the Jewish State.
You may be correct, but these are a very small (but VERY loud) minority. Keep in mind, though, that almost NO Jews have no opinion about Israel. Most love it, some hate it, but very few have no opinion. The opposite of love is not hate, said Elie Wiesel. It is indifference. And that is an important nuance.
You are correct that the Jewish Israel-Haters are relatively few (and vocal). But having engaged for many years in Israel advocacy, I know that the number of Jews apathetic regarding Israel is substantial. I wish it weren’t so, and I do what I can to change that dynamic.
Please note that most of the respondents do not know the Tanak (bible) writings. And not the identity of what it says. Almost everyone repeats the Christian misinterpretation of Israel and the Jews, including those Jews whose interpretations of the Tanakh writings are defined by Christian interpretations.
Without taking a further stand on the anti-Semitism of the New Testament, which shines through the entire New Testament, it has created the basis for anti-Semitism and racism without religion, in the beginning it was purely a gospel of the Christian religion.
Wow! Thank you for this Mr. johnson! So well stated. Speaking to the holocaust one of my favourite antisememitic slanders is the " How could the Israel commit a genocide, when they had one perpetrated on them!" There is so much wrong with this statement! Will share this far and wide!
What an impressive article: I applaud your knowledge and your erudite writing.
Thank you for penning this. I have a great love for the Jewish people and Israel. May this information help people understand what Antisemitism looks like, so they can renounce it.
Judaism is not a religion. It is a nation whose existence is based on the revelation of the Torah. or does anyone claim that יהוה created religion. It gets worse when someone claims that Moses created the Torah. Although Moses knew a lot, he did not understand how our time has come to this point. Today, Moses would be a diamond, as the head of any country.
My home and business in Yamit, were taken for the Jimmy Carter "peace Accord" I wrote Love and Betrayal, an historical novel about it.
The Lubavitch Rebbe told Begin not to give them a " grain of sand." My theory is that if Yamut and the Sinai wasn't given to Egypt we wouldn't be in this terrible situation today.

Thank you Mr Johnson. A Really good thorough look at Anti-Zionism. Much appreciated.
A very heartfelt Thank You Mr. Johnson.

Thank you for your kind words, Jerry. These are dark times, but we will keep fighting for what is right!

Ummm ... what part of this history do you have an issue with?
