I am absolutely convinced that you will see off your enemies! Your claim on the land is so strong. The Old Testament recounts your history and wherever you dig in Israel there is evidence of you in history. Your determination and love for your Country gives you strength. You will succeed! Stay strong and stay safe.

Another photo of the IDF taking Jerusalem was the one with Moshe Dayan and I think Yitzhak Rabin wearing helmets as they walked through the city. I was in high school when they took the city and was glad to see Jews back in Jerusalem. The other event was when President Trump moved the US embassy into the city. He caught Hell for that but knew it was the right thing to do.

The Jewish people have survived attempt after attempt to destroy them. This Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish people should celebrate that they are still here despite all that has been thrown at them over the past three millennia! Hamas and their allies are no different, the Jewish people and the state of Israel will outlive them too! Shana Tova to the Israeli people and the global Jewish community! 🍎🍯

So true, amazingly so. The tiniest of peoples, outliving all the others which invaded them.

I have some small comments on historic items:

the Egyptians were not only the villains of the Exodus. Egypt was constantly raiding and occupying Canaan. Archaeology confirms it. It is one of the reasons, besides the memories of the Exodus, that it was not just a memory, but a compounded trauma, something the Israelites had every reason never to forget. They had been slaves of Egypt twice over.

The other historic fact is that Joshua never conquered Canaan. There was no conquest from the outside. Israel emerged organically from Canaan. They were Canaanites, called Israel as worshippers of only one God, the chief , father of the gods, El. Israel means El rules.

With the influx of the Egyptian southern immigration including Levites, it became the Ancient Israel that merged God(s), YHWH and EL, a common syncretic action, the nation that acquired a moral code, and remembered their origins in Mesopotamia.

The book of Joshua might have been created to continue Moses' legacy. In fact, so much of this book parallels Moses' and the Exodus' contingent related events. The Rabbis were never crazy about the book of Joshua.

Archaeology relatively recently confirmed that the events told in the book were not historical. On the contrary, the archaeology and textual evidence show the Canaanite past and peaceful merger with the southern migration to be the historic truth.

This is important because not having " conquered" the land by force , like Muslims and others did, gives moral legitimacy to the history of a people that all it did was migrate , like Arabs so much like to do, like all populations have done, and the Israel that fought for their land and their freedom, against hostile peoples and empires. And still does.
