Very well written and argued but you’re missing a key point. Douglas Murray who I think it fantastic not only came off poorly but missed opportunities to make the right points and overemphasized the wrong points. And with snark. I think he was taken aback by the vapidity and ignorance of the guest but he accepted the invite to debate.
The Rabbis of the Talmud tell us that truth prevails and falsehood fails because of the spelling of truth and falsehood in Hebrew because truth is well supported and falsehoods are unsupported
Really well put. The onus is on us to work out a way to discern between valid information and pure populist or other opinion. In 2025 that is not easy. So many deeply compromised / captured institutions .
Truth is now an option on a menu of choices. And also whose truth? It is a narrative-driven world. Facts are also optional. It is the impression of truth, now merely one of the ways to sway the masses. I love Douglas Murray, but scolding the new media kings by Oxbridge standards will not a media rockstar make. And new books? Who reads them?
Excellent commentary. I was one of the first authors involved in the new self-publishing move in 1995 or so. That has been taken over by podcasts and substack. I was born on D-Day. I grew up in the fifties and have seen a lot. Most of it has been anti-G-d. It won't be fixed until the King of Israel is on the throne—in the near future.
When Musk said to his “supporters” recently, “ You are the media”, he was stating something simultaneously true and ridiculous. Namely that the barriers to entry for the new media are much reduced compared to old media -the only criterion appears to be popularity and, because of that, journalistic rigour is increasingly an anachronism. Sadly, there are too many examples of partisan bias and moral cowardice in much of the old media and many of its defenders are simply talking to themselves in an ever diminishing echo chamber.
Yes, definitely "Truth must prevail ".....But unfortunately it have been a lot of lies an distortion of the truth in the media.....and the worst part of it, lots of people believe them !!!!.....

Whatever happened to: Who, what, when, where ,Why, the facts? No bias, just the facts.
"Seek ye the truth, for the truth shall set you free." While doing so, it's a good idea to ensure that your ammunition locker is well stocked.
