Like all of the rest of the lies we’ve been fed, this one needs to be done. Over. Israel blowing up terrorists’ pagers…magnificent strategy. Almost zero collateral damage so the lies of lotsa babies can’t be used as propaganda. By the way…why would an ambassador have a terrorist pager?

Sophisticated and audacious. I’m impressed by the actions of the Jewish state. Israel dealt a serious blow to the terrorists. Thank you from a grateful infidel.

It should have killed more of them. I think the job was rushed, because Hezbollah was on the verge of figuring out the sabotage.

Israel has not taken responsibility for the pager attacks yet, as far as I know. Did I miss it?

Totally agree that pagers are as shady today as they were in the early 90s. The explanation I read is that Hezbollah military leadership was told, years ago, to ditch cell phones for the pagers so that Israel couldn’t listen/geo/locate them. Apparently, no one ever revisited this decision.

Agree that it’s nice that the anti-Israel PR machine won’t have the dead/maimed child images to share around the word. I hope this is just the beginning of Israel thinking about PR.

No I have not heard that Israel has taken responsibility for it and that's fine; the elegance and intelligence of the strategy points to one country only. Israel is simply standing here with a smirk on its face. I love it so much.

The US has become so conflicted and confused that we cannot even express gratitude that one of the architects of the slaughter of so many of our troops over four decades ago was finally brought to justice.

This is an outstanding summary of how the fake peace process was designed from the first as a Trojan horse to bring down the Jewish state. Since Oct 7th it's become nearly impossible to pretend that all the Palestinians want is to live in peace and dignity. The ""core destructive aim" of the Palestinian narrative has been laid bare for all to see. Those who persist in pretending that a two-state solution is just around the corner are either blind, ignorant or malicious in their motivations.

In hindsight, it was always one side that wanted peace and one side that wanted war and genocide. I think all of us in the West and in Israel were guilty of being ethnocentric. We thought if we offered them land and self rule, they would accept peace. We did get peace out of Egypt and Jordan and Syria. Of course, The populace of those countries hates us be we did get peace. We thought the same would happen with the Palestinians but we were wrong. So majority of the West along with Israel were wrong. Over the last 20-30 years ago things changed. There has been a marriage of the Marxists and the Islamists and they have infiltrated our education system and curriculum. Not just against Israel but against the culture of the West so no longer is it naivete or being ethnocentric. It is that we are colonizers and White Oppressors and they have joined completely the Palestina/ Hamas ideology when it comes to Israel. The irony is that once the Islamists are done with Israel, they will go after the Marxists. papa j

I think you summed that up rather well.

Don’t limit yourself to the Palestinian narrative. It is the entire Islamic message.

Abraham Accords

Expand full comment

I had high hopes but look how they voted on the PA UN resolution. Do u think they could say they accept the borders and sovereignty of the Jewish State of Israel including the Temple Mount?

Expand full comment

UN is a kangaroo court. Egypt and Jordan have maintained their peace treaties.

Expand full comment

Egypt colludes a bit with Hamas, no? But as long as it's small scale, this is far better than not having diplomatic relations. Why haven't the accords been extended to Saudi Arabia?

Expand full comment

My understanding is the accords with Saudi were next in line, but stalled when Iran threw a wrench into that machine via the 7 Oct massacre.

Except for "historian" Pappe, I agree. Chomsky is a linguist specialist not historian In today's post by Lyn Julius on blog Point of No Return she takes to task the ahistorical Avi Schlaim over bombings in Baghdad allegedly by "Zionists" to instill fear in Jews to flee. Ha Ha....one could say Israel a this point may have not been so eager for Mizrahi Jews who were so "Arabized," But I can't say for sure...she is however correct that Schlaim is now one of those who want a "unitary secular Democratic state" as Arafat called for which is effing meaninngless.....It means surrendering Jewish rights in our own ancient homeland to Muslim hegemony and Islamic supremacy and ethno nationalist Arab chauvanism in the extreme. What a joke how "ethno -religious " nationalism is applied to Zionism but not to its most extreme example "Palestinianism." The call for an exclusive Arab Islamic state in all of British Mandate Palestine with dhimmi rights for Christians and presumably a few surviving Jews. Maybe even a court Jew as in Iran's racist majlis ...where he can repeat the line that the hamas gives him to read. same as in Iran. So a theocratic, anti gay, anti trans, Judeophobic, western hating state in "unitary" Palestine. What a sick joke. Look at the hate posts on FB as I did today,.....Jews compared to rats and cancer. some names are Muslim Arab some are Hispanic, some are "Anglo" sounding names

Can you give a reference to Shlaim's article? I read a book of his a long time ago, I think "The Iron Wall", which was OK. Why do you say he is ahistorical? I think he is a historian.

"Because while adherence to peace and a revulsion for violence used to be a core tenet of leftist ideology, those days are gone.": Yes but, not really . . . (there's always a 'but'). Left or right, those who treasure the Enlightenment values of rule of law, justice for all, democracy, tolerance (the little things), MUST be willing to walk a tricky double line. What I mean by that is, peace is preferable yes, but when an outside entity threatens our system, we MUST be willing to recognize it quickly and fight like hell to DESTROY that entity -- not negotiate and make peace with it. Well, you can negotiate and make peace with barbarians, AFTER you DEMOLISH them. Then, you rebuild them in your image. Then, you go happily back to the rule of law, justice, democracy and tolerance. That is our challenge. The West cannot afford to be weak. Just think of WW2 and how it was won. That's all you need to know. But remember too how reluctantly the West went to war. That is not good.

Ilan Pappe is conning more and more people; everyone extolling "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine." He gets virtually no pushback. Only found this- must be spread around: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1_dc2wuteg

I will watch the linked video later, but do you understand what is going on with the likes of Pappe and Finkelstein? I read an article by Benny Morris debunking some of Pappe's lies. What is motivating him?

Good question, and the one I have been grappling with ever since. One would think people of their ilk should live in Gaza but no, they live very nicely in the West.

self hate....I don't have any other explanation for these two...for Chomsky, for the whole rancid group which approprited "Jewish" for a communist trotsykite cell called "for peace. " truly deranged they love arab terrorism an dJewish victimes which they heap slurs upon.

Chomsky was just an asshole. Finkelstein seems earnest, and from what I could tell, he doesn't hate himself. Maybe Pappe does, but it seems like too facile an explanation. One can be an individual who doesn't define himself by his ethnicity or cultural background. Even if both P and F hate most Israelis, they don't necessarily hate themselves. And I don't think Pappe hates peacenik Jews, does he? Try harder.

Yes, I think both Finkelstein and Pappe have serious psychological problems, but I don't know exactly what they are. The "chip on the shoulder" probably has a psychological diagnosis, like oppositional personality disorder. Still my scientific mind wants to understand root causes. Many people have disgruntled parents, but they don't turn into such hateful liars.

The so called ‘progressives’ are not progressive at all. They love to rewrite history to suit their own version of it. They claim to deplore racism, unless it involves Israel and the Jewish people.
