I agree, this has to be followed through to the end! The horrendous trail of death, destruction and terror that these monsters have left behind must stop. That can only happen by serious tactics. How anyone can have sympathy for them, I can’t understand. They are evil to the core!

You capture the violence and tragedies to our families and nation clearly and with attention to the texture of Israeli lives.

"Terrorism works," you write. 💯. You also ask, "Will the civilized world take measures that make it impossible for Hamas to ever again be a model for terror, or will the horror be preserved in memory only, a precedent rather than a warning?" We know the answer: Terror works and the Arab/Muslim perversions of Life continue and actually capture the imagination and desire of many, many Western citizens.

We see the perversion of integrity and decency spreading in the UK, Europe, and the US.

Israel and Jews who understand must expect to stand alone with the few non-Jews who understand. I'm sorry to express such pessimism. Governments, Media, Corporations, K-12 teachers, Entertainers, Academics have taken corruption and perversion to new, dizzying heights.

Strengthen ourselves, families, and friends. Prepare, grow. Strengthen our ties to one another and the words of Torah and the Christian tradition.

Incidentally, I just picked up a book by Barbara Tuchman (of Guns of August fame), called The March of Folly. It discusses folly and perverse govt policies that are against the interests of their citizens and countries. (She acknowledges 3 other reasons for going against one's interests but focuses on folly.)

But today, it is not only the govt and elites, it is even the citizens. Yes, mind boggling.

Hamas, because of the release of thousands of convicted terrorists will consider the agreement as a victory, a validation of the 10/7 tragedy and a valid recruitmentg vehicle.

Only Israel can see to it that the Palestinians pay the heavy price they should be paying. But will the Israeli public, each and every member of that public, insist that this be done?

If Hamas lives up to its reputation of never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity, then they will balk at the implementation of the rest of the peace process. They are already refusing to completely disarm, and they are insisting that no one from outside the territory be allowed to participate in the management of the rebirth of Gazan society. The question is WHEN this happens, will president Trump actually keep his word and let Israel finish the job? Keeping the other Muslim countries in whatever coalition had been cobbled together is going to be difficult.

As I've said before... the only legacy of the Palestinians is terror and the crap we have to go through in the airport security maze... and now also hostage taking and torture... besides scamming the world into financing them for life and generations...

One can only hope that the Mossad might have come up with something to stymie all those almost released terrorists...

An amazing piece every Israeli official and citizen should be reading right now, Joshua! The only way the international community can really ensure the end of the war is if Hamas can somehow be neutralized and taken out of the picture altogether. But I just don’t see how that’s realistic. The Trump Peace Plan is naive idealism at its worst. Saving the hostages but leaving Hamas in power would be a victory for Hamas and would send a message to every terrorist group on Earth that terrorism work. Trump sounds like Neville Chamberlain proclaiming this deal will lead to “eternal peace!” It will do nothing of the sort. What will is what happened the last time there was a ceasefire. Israel will get the hostages back, Hamas will get the Palestinian prisoners, Hamas will violate the ceasefire, and the war will be back on again. If something seems to good to be true, then it is. I tell you this peace deal is too good to be true! It’s a good (if flawed) deal on paper but it will never translate to reality. Why? For the simple fact Hamas can’t be trusted to hold up their end of the bargain. They will never disarm and surrender to Israel that for them, would be a humiliation.

Like the Imperial Japanese in World War II, Hamas is fighting for victory or death. Furthermore, how do we know that the GITA members wouldn’t just be killed by Hamas or some other comparable Jihadist group and simply takeover? Who would handle de-radicalization? Even if it was a good country for the job would it work? So if they send Hamas into exile, what if they were to comeback? What all the celebration of the Gaza peace plan ignores is all these crucial questions. The devil is in the details folks. I give it a few months before Trump’s peace plan totally implodes. Israel must see this war through and totally destroy Hamas to the point they will never be a significant factor in the region ever again just as the United States and its allies did to ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Nothing else will do, it is the only path to a decisive victory for Israel.

There is NO responsible Palestinian entity who can run Gaza after the war! Israel has only one choice: annex Gaza and reoccupy and resettle it. That is how you ensure Israel’s security and a better life for the Palestinian people. No international effort in Gaza no matter how well-intentioned can do the job. Palestinians will be given permanent residence and representation in the Knesset. Those who’ve earned it can become Israeli citizens. That’s probably the most realistic way to go. Gazans who wish to resettle should be allowed to do so and be resettled in the Gulf States, Egypt and Jordan as well as Indonesia and Latin America. Israel should handle demilitarization, deradicalizion and de-Hamasfication of the strip themselves. I don’t trust the UN to that.

We saw well fed Hamas thugs celebrating a restaurant in Gaza named Nova and Hamas demand that Israel release the bodies of the Sinwars for a martyr’s funeral .When Hamas disarms and is out of the picture this war will be over

Israel has never been allowed to win a war except for once against Egypt. All other times the world calls for a cease fire and Israel complies, to their detriment. “War is all hell” said Sherman about the Civil War. We have a world addicted to peace where Palestine is concerned and Israel will have to do what it needs to do, regardless of world pressure. The Jews and Israel will be blamed anyway, so we need to wage war on terror until it is eradicated. Israel also needs tougher PR and a tougher stance against organizations like the United Nations, which is anti Jewish, anti Israel and anti Zionist at its core. There are countries that do not believe in Israel’s right to exist ages members of this antisemitic organization, and Israel needs to resign from it until certain conditions are met.

The media is the same; anti Jew and pro terror, especially the NYT. It is time Israel fought back with facts. They can win the war and the PR war but making Israel safe from terror is their #1 priority.
