Isaiah says nothing of the sort and certainly does not mention Jesus by name.. And the difference between Judaism and Chritinity is that Abraham did not atually sacrifice his son but in Christianity God does!
What an impressive post. Thank you. This is the meaning of the Biblical phrase " when Yeshurun gets too fat, it kicks over the traces" Deuteronomy 32:15
As an agnostic, my comment will come in the form of 2 wonderful quotes.
1. “There are good people who do good things, there are bad people who do bad things, but to get a good person to do a bad thing takes religion.”
2. "You can pray all you want but eventually David had to pick up a stone and act against Goliath"
In other words, do whatever you need to do to make you feel good inside but dont sit and pray while others are fighting and dying to protect your ass. Also, realize that morality does not necessarily come from religious teachings.
"That does not mean to say that we cannot criticize; that we cannot complain about corruption, dishonesty, failed policies, missed opportunities, wherever it comes from. It is no different to a parent having a delinquent child and trying to help them change." This is similar to what I say when people ask me how I can love my country -- America -- even though it's flawed. America for me, and Israel for you, are like family. They don't have to be perfect for us to love them deeply.

G'mar Chativa Tova

Yes compltely agree.
Your first quote is just that, a pithy statement that is a lot less clever and more out of touch with reality than it sounds.
Your second quote, based on the narrative from the Book of Samuel, is spot on.
G'mar chatimah tovah to you, too. (And, yes, I caught your cute little joke.)
Thank you for both !!! And Gmar Tov!
Perhaps, as in the case of all tragedies, we should begin by asking where was man
The second Temple was destroyed because of sinat chinam. Unfortunately, we had no shortage of this before October 7.
Don't blame G-d - sometimes He has to do things to remind us not to hate each other.
God already did atone for sin in the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity and the Jewish Messiah. See Isaiah 53.
With all the proof texts cited in the Christian Bible, could you tell me where Isaiah 53 is mentioned?
Isaiah 53 is in the Old Testament.
"That does not mean to say that we cannot criticize; that we cannot complain about corruption, dishonesty, failed policies, missed opportunities, wherever it comes from. It is no different to a parent having a delinquent child and trying to help them change." If the world is an example of God’s work, I would say he is not doing a good job
Knock knock anyone home in that head of yours?
Stepen, thank you for making this cynical old man laugh today! Be well and all the best. papa j
