Brilliant! This thinking is why Israel will NEVER disappear from the map.

Population of Greece: 9.9 million

Population of UAE: 11.5 million

Population of Azerbaijan: 10.4 million

Population of Jordan: 11.5 million

Population of Israel: 10.2 million.

Is it pure coincidence that these nations that are becoming trusted partners of Israel all have nearly the same population as Israel? Or is this part of Israeli strategic intent? I wonder.

Similar sized countries, all with larger, threatening neighbours.

I love reading your thoughts and have always admired what you have done for Israel and how you have done it. You rise above political gameplay and think with vision. Thank you for sharing this and I do so hope it works. These countries being similar in size is, I think, an advantage to both understanding and cohesion.

I hope this all works out as expected. And I hope Israeli planners Will never wilfully blind themselves to unexpected dangers again and that Israel will be prepared for a world in which the United States is no longer an ally.

Yoav, thank you for sharing some fundamental points on regional security. Sitting in London, my radar is highly tuned to any issue relating to Israel, its security’ its politics and anything Jewish, especially in the diaspora. Yesterday I read that Katz, defence minister says prepare for ‘all out war’, specifically with the West Bank. Then it dawned on me, could an ‘all out war’

be a pre cursor to Netanyahu’s tactics to get the elections delayed / postponed ?

Excellent read - thank you- I worry the most of Turkey, 4th largest conventional army in the world, Trump failed to arm the Kurds Bowing to Erdogan.

I believe Trump will burry Iranian Nukes before he leaves office.

For Isreal our natural Ally in the Middle East - I sense growing acceptance to work with new allies and Abraham Accord helping in no small measure.

Armenia could be a useful ally against Turkey.

1"Woe to rebellious children," says the Lord, "to take counsel but not from Me, and to appoint a ruler but not of My spirit, in order to add sin upon sin.

2Those who go to descend to Egypt, and they have not asked of My mouth, to strengthen themselves with the strength of Pharaoh and to take shelter in the shade of Egypt.

3And the strength of Pharaoh shall be to you for shame, and the shelter in the shade of Egypt for disgrace.

I hope this helps the region but I am deeply suspicious whenever I see the excuse of Iran and its proxies, Iraq was the danger but the weapons of mass destruction turned out to be a lie, now Iran has the same accusation.

General, Israel is thinking strategically with these other countries for which you are to be commended. However regarding the US if the Democrats and their DSA allies ever come back to power Israel will once again have an ally in name only remembering the previous administration's hostility toward the Jewish state. I'm aware that Israel is building a homegrown defense industry which is necessary considering the worldwide hostility toward your country and eliminating the need to appease various countries to gain access to their military hardware.
