Thank you, Josh. I agree. What you wrote really gets at the crux of the matter- all the groups advocating fir the Palestinians have a vested interest in maximizing their suffering and keeping them perpetual victims that can be uses to villify Israel. There is no incentive at all to better their situation or solve their problems.
Regarding the far left supporters of Hamas in America, at least some of whom are probably paid agitators by Iran or others, this would seem an ideal time for ICE to raid a few mosques in Michigan, or Queens, or elsewhere, and check the papers of some worshippers.
Someone needs to cut the Gordian knot and end this merry go round. That someone must be the American president, the only one with sufficient leverage to force real change.
In 2004, Arab League spokesman Hisham Youssef bluntly stated “Palestinians live in very bad conditions. That official policy is meant to preserve their Palestinian identity. If every Palestinian who sought refuge in a certain country was integrated and accommodated into that country, there won’t be any reason for them to return to Palestine.”
In other words, the Arab elite see no benefit in allowing Palestinians to establish lives that are not centered around conflict with Israel. As long as they remain a permanent underclass within the Middle East, they keep the focus of the Arab masses and Western observers firmly fixed on the alleged evils of Zionism, rather than on the human rights abuses and socio-economic inequities prevalent within the Arab states.
Theodor Herzl wrote, "...However much I may worship personality, I do not regret its disappearance. Whoever can, will, and must perish, let him perish. But the distinctive nationality of Jews neither can, will, nor must be destroyed."
There have been many times throughout history
when the Jewish people did not have benefactors fawning over their existence.
The Palestinians are a unique bunch. Huge swathes of the world and world organizations fawn over their existence.
I don't believe they are poor actually.
What was Herzl saying? Seems to me he was saying: We're stuck being here one way or the other. We might as well improve our situation by our own efforts.
Isn't that what every nationality must do?
Millions of ethnic Germans were evicted from their ancestral lands after WW2. The German government estimates up to 2 million were murdered.
Only a very few obscure sources even mention that event.
Millions of Muslims and Hindus were evicted from their lands because of the 1947 partition of Indian. The murders are in the millions.
That historical event is discussed slightly more than the German refugees from the post WW2 1940s but still can hardly be compared to the world wide fawning over the Palestinan cause.
The Palestinian nationality has always been deeply connected to destroying the Jewish State, whether every individual Palestinian admits that or not.
The answer to this supposed quagmire is not that complicated.
The many cases of hypocrisy either regarding refugees or the rights of indigenous peoples for self determination....Tibet, East Turkmenistan, Kurdistan, Sudanese genocide, the fifty year occupation and creation of apartheid Northern Cyprus ....all criminal and worthy of demonstrations. There are ZERO demonstrators for any cause except the leftist cause of all causes. the destruction of Israel.
Precisely . Thank You once again. I would like to add one thing . Those terrorists are financing their business ( Terrorism is very profitable and big money business) making and selling drugs all over the world. That way terrorists are making unstable the whole world 😡 I have been trying to understand why Trump don’t believe in those promises that HASHEM ALMIGHTY has given to Jews ?? Two and half Jewish tribes have their land on eastern side of Jordan River, the Third Temple and the Kingdom of Yisrael ( Davidic Dynasty) are eternal and Sanhedrin is also in the Third Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem Very Soon Baruch HASHEM 🙌🙏🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱🙌🙏
Joshua you live in Israel and so have I presume contact with enough Arabs to know how they "really feel." The videos on you tube where questions are posed to Arabs in Israel and the West Bank and also to Israeli Jew is depressing. Mainly for the attitudes expressed by the Arabs. No sense of recognition of the two "rights." No, One is right and the other intruding Jews...back to Poland. Just as they are chanting here in the USA.
The big problem is the UN's and EU's connivance to keep these people perpetual refugees. Or as George Costanza would say "sticking it" to the Jews.
That bogus "refugee "status of millions more than the original 600K or so...not including the bourgeois who began fleeing for Cairo and Beirut before the Arab instigated civil war and then the Arab states' invasion of Israel. I am glad that President Trump is calling out racist antisemitism here in the USA and talking honestly again with Saudis, Emiratis and the others. Including "Palestinians." Biden, for whom I voted, was a disaster. In every regard.
Repeating that name created by the Roman Empire. and using the name of a lie nation (Palestinian), is already starting to get boring. Does the history of nations know a people (Palestinian) before 1900 let alone 1945. Why repeat the name created by the Romans? A lie. which the world has fallen in love with.
A lie. when it is repeated often enough, it begins to become the truth.
Having complete faith in Trump and his uncanny persistence in defiance of everybody, he will keep pushing his ideas non-stop. Pretty soon, he will start mentioning the billions we have given Egypt and Jordan over the years and apply more pressure. Its a chess game and at worst he is putting all the Arab countries in a defensive posture and that in turn will create an atmosphere of compromise.
I dont know about anyone else but damn, Its so good to have a President that is strong and will do and say things like Trump and who is a true ally to Jews and Israel.

Oh I wish!!

Great piece. Thank you for it.

I refuse to use the language of the intifada by saying the P word. Moderate Gazans are getting shot and killed in the streets right now by Hamas.
great analysis.

Well said- it's shameful how Palestinian leaders have treated their people all these years.
