This is a good record of the violence directed against Israeli civilians. I don’t think the average person has any real notion of just how small Israel is (or that Jews are just 0.2% of the world population) and certainly not of the historical facts and realities of this tiny and relatively young country. How this record of violence primarily against Israeli Jews explains why Israel does not get much world sympathy is not directly stated here though.
The reason there is “no” sympathy—and I do believe many people actually do have unvoiced sympathy for Israelis—is because for the past six decades, the world has been fed a false narrative of Israeli aggression and wrong-doing. In the minds of many, Israel/Jews have it coming because all they’ve heard their whole lives is that Jews stole Muslim/Arab land and oppressed Muslims/Arabs—both outright blood libels, but embraced and believed by many. This is merely an extension, an off-shoot, of already well established, centuries-old, irrational Jew hatred. It’s a continuation of the story of the Jewish people—hated for being a people who stayed true to its origins and have refused to die out. The Muslims/Arabs, in general, and hard-core Jew haters hate us all the more because we dared to not only survive as a nation, but we had the audacity to reclaim our birthright and declare Jewish sovereignty in the cradle of Jewish civilization. In order to feel sympathy toward another, one has to genuinely care. “The World,” with notable exceptions, does not care about Jews.
Israelis in Amsterdam were attacked yesterday with ‘possibly three missing.’ Bibi is sending a plane to recover. European, British and American rising Jew hatred and actions may wake us up to Israel’s nightmare.
We must open our eyes and look at the underside of all of this, there is an insidious plan and it is very evil. It involves ALL of us. Beware the enemy within all our countries. A little here a little there, working in the background to undermine everything and anything connected to a democratic government( China,Russia,Africa,Middle East, Pakistani,Yemen,Taiwan,Korea,Eastern Europe and many other hot spots).
Great article I will share with all I know. Except the last paragraph. Why “hence”? This implies a logical sequence of thoughts going from a clear exposition of horrific events to no understanding by the rest of the world to no sympathy. I don’t see the “hence”. Furthermore, is sympathy what the Jewish people need or want? Perhaps more a need for international logical thought, understanding historical fact (as in many of your other articles) and definitive support.
I can only imagine the trauma atmosphere/living trauma daily, how horrible. I pray our Gods protection over Israel, Jerusalem & Jewish citizens. It is a pity that Israel is critized world wide, as they only trying to protect themselves against evil terrorism. The rest of the world would do the same if in the same position, walking in Israels shoes everyday. I 5aise my hat to PM, police, security, IDF,, MILITARY, health practioners, & civilians. Stand in Gods promises & blessings, I pray for all
Such a horrific way to live and yet the knowledge that this is your people and this is your country, your brothers and sisters must make it all so worthwhile.
We, in the Diaspora, respect and admire and love all of you.
On the world stage, very little sympathy goes to Israelis because they are invariably blamed for everything that happens to them. The more barbaric the attack on Israelis, the more they are blamed. It is not as if the world were to realize that Israelis are suffering, they would empathize. Israeli and Jewish suffering is deeply satisfying to the rest of the world. It's pornography. Europe is about to find out what happens to a land when it achieves a majority Muslin population. When the Intifada starts against European Christians, they will still blame the Jews. Even if the Jews were to be wiped out, they would still blame the Jews.
You failed to mention the instigating cause for any of this: the occupation of Palestine by the Invaders who came from Europe because they were persecuted by Germany and other European nations. Until you admit you are not native to that land, you moved there in 2013 to live on stolen land that you should have already known was stolen and was being used to directly oppress millions of innocent people, no one should take a word you say seriously. Your fears are not relevant when you are on the side of the occupier.
At this point it should be clear that those in the west who back the "palestinian" cause are nazis since they are supporting a cause which is overtly about Jewish genocide.
We have done everything possible to secure a peace with these psychopaths. We have done more than any nation in history and put up with more than any tolerated.
Every agreement has been violated, every boundary of decency crossed and after a year of hell fighting with one hand and leg tied behind our backs in a way NO ARMY IN THE HISTORY OF THE PLANET HAS DONE, what have we gotten? Nearly universal condemnation. Sneering, insults, curses.
Brothers. Please. ENOUGH.
Yes we must act civilized, but ENOUGH with trying to get the love of these people. It doesnt exist. Not even for themselves.
There are plenty of good people, but they themselves have to keep quiet for fear of being the next target.
We. Must. FIGHT.
Fight and win. There is NO OTHER OPTION.
To paraphrase Patrick Henry, we have pleaded, we have cajoled, we have begged, we have argued, we have tolerated insult and injury that no nation on earth would put up with and agreed to conditions that no one has ever survived.
But do you understand why Israelis chant “School is out - we killed all the kids!”; or demand the right to sodomise Palestinians; or have “Daddy’s Home” policies; or shoot children in the head; or keep a count of how many knees they have shot out; or chant “Death to Arabs” in the March of Flags? You don’t think that perahps you are confusing the cause and the effect?
“The [Patra] restaurant was a symbolic target due to its popularity among civilians, emphasizing the Palestinians’ use of bombings to sow fear in public spaces”
I beg to differ. Whom you kill you name as your real enemy. When targeting civilians for slaughter, you are declaring that not the state, not its policies, not the military, but the very people who make up their Nation are the enemy you want wipe out. Some cynics might call this genocide, but in today's world it would only be genocide if the victims were not Jewish. Otherwise, Jews defending themselves against genocidal attacks are the ones committing genocide, and the ones slaughtering Jews are merely engaged in heroic resistance by any means.
“leftist Prime Minister Ehud Barak, made significant proposals”
Reading through the ensuing list, Barak's offers were not “proposals” but capitulations to Arab demands in a Chamberlainian act of appeasement, as was Perez and Olmert's offers to them for vague, abstract promises of good will, recognition, and peace. Israel and America might have brushed aside the Khartoum Resolution of 1967 “No peace with Israel, No negotiation with Israel, No recognition of Israel,” but the Arabs evidently did not.
“Yasser Arafat, then the leader of the Palestinians, ultimately spurned this offer, believing it did not meet Palestinian demands”
As signatory to the Oslo Accord, Arafat didn't spurn an offer, he reneged on a binding contract in keeping with the principles enunciated in Dat al Harb (House of War) derived directly from the Qu'uran. According to these two authoritative sources, a peace treat with an enemy is valid for 10 years — unless you become militarily superior during that time, at which point you are within your rights to violate the treaty and attack your enemy.
“In Israel, the front line is everywhere, and the concept of a safe, distant 'elsewhere' is a luxury that simply does not exist. Such are the horrific realities for Israelis that outsiders will never understand.
Hence why, on the world stage, very little sympathy gets thrown our way.”
Another reason the world displays very little sympathy for Jews is that culturally Jews have for millennia been portrayed through negative stereotypes as evident in entertainment and news media as well as being the butt of popular jokes.
People in the west will understand eventually (humans have this amazing capacity to understand things they have not experienced themselves directly), they just need more time and more information (like this article), explained in a rational and calm manner. The narrative that has to be dismantled is that the terrorism occurs BECAUSE of the oppression (which exists, no doubt, but it is not causal of terrorism in any major way) of Palestinians.
I recall leaving my violin once at a bus station when I was about 7-8 years old (we had so much more freedom in Israel, despite the terrorism, as children than modern children in the US), and then upon realizing it, coming back to no violin. Luckily, my mother thought to call the police, and sure enough, the bomb squad had it... Also luckily they didn't blow it up. I still have that violin. My grandmother left it for me--she had played it in the Bucharest philharmonic, so it has an emotional value.
I recall being shown short films as a child, warning us not to pick up what may look like toys on the ground (they could be plastic explosives).
I recall going to a bomb shelter that was really just a storage room when sirens rang, it had more psychological than utilitarian value. I recall girls crying about their dads going to the front. I was lucky that my dad only had to go to Ichilov hospital to work in the blood bank.
I recall all the kids watching two dogs copulating, only to be interrupted by Yankush's sister coming to tell him that their dad (a medic) was killed when his helicopter was shot down.
But there are also many positive memories of growing up with alot of freedom and community and beautiful groves of oranges and Eucalyptus trees and creative, nature-based games where we didn't need to buy anything.

Very insightful article as to what it means to live in Israel and the constant deadly pressure Israeli’s are under.

Jews are indigenous to the land. You can cry harder
You can just say you're a Nazi. You don't have to pretend. Zio. Terrorist. Baby killer.
Seek help

Most of the leftist Jew haters simply don't care.
The Leftist Jew Haters just got fucked in the US Presidential Election. Beware however of the Jew-Hating Nazis on The Far Right....!

Bullshit lie
Hmmm. Try, “I refuse to dignify that with a response”, in future.
No. You lie and I am going to call you out on it.
