While a majority of Mizrachi Jews forced from their homes in Arab countries went to Israel, not all did - suggesting that the move was anything but “voluntary.” For instance, many Jews who fled Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco did not go to Israel but relocated to France. Many Jews expelled from other Arab countries came to the U.S. But then, when you wish to present an ahistorical narrative, facts are likely to get in the way.
It was not just the Jews who fled Islamic countries, all non-Muslims whatever their faith or non-faith have emigrated. Life in Muslim countries with Sharia Law is never good. It seems that Muslims dont play well with other people and certainly do not treat them as equals. As far Jewish refugees from Arab Countries hardley talked about ... that unfortunately is the way of the world when it comes to Jews. Today there will be an estimated 100,000 people demonstrating against Israel on a false charge of starving Palesinins. Meanwhile, there is real starvation going on in so many places in the world and especially in Africa but that gets no mention. When the Jews fight a defensive war, there is a false outcry of Genocide and outrage at civilian casualties. Yet, Israel has the lowest ratio of civilian to combatant ratios in military history. We could talk about the hypocrisy and double standards everyday but in regards to the article and the lack of mention of the Jewish refugees. If we want it to get more attention, the Jewish people and the State of Israel and the friends of Jews should be talking about it. Unfortunately, we will not get it from mainstream media. papa j

In recent history, one of the most profound changes in the global religious landscape has been the unrelenting proportional decline of historic Christian communities in the Middle East:
In 1910, Christians represented 13.6% of the Middle East’s population.
In 2010, Christians were only 4.2% of the region.
By 2025, it is expected Christians will constitute 3.6%.
The Islamists hate everyone and treat all as second class citizens. Lets not even talk about how Europe is being taken over. Been to Belgium lately Robert, you would freak out my boy. The war is against the West and Israel is fighting for all of us. ahimsa, papa j
I still don't understand why Jews are not allowed to have a land of their own. What is the problem? Every other nation gets to have a land. It doesn't make sense.
Jews in Iraq were doing fine. They were 30% of the population of Baghdad and they controlled a lot of the economy. Pogroms were not common in the Arab World. Formal dhimmitude ended around 1920 with the decline of the Ottoman Empire.
Plenty of Greeks and Armenians left in the Arab World. Lots of Armenians in Syria and Iran. There are plenty of Arabs to do all that work. 😂 prove that Arab countries were better off when they had lots of Jews. You can’t.
I often wonder if the Muslim world addresses the "brain" drain their policies promoted; whatever happened to the business acumen in these countries (i.e. Armenian craftsmen, Jewish merchants, Algernian musicians and composers, Greek enterpreneurs .... and now the "state" of Muslim counties, a shadow of their past with little hope or plan for the future.
When Palestinians are displaced by Jews, then it is a crime! But, when Jews are displaced by Palestinians, it is an honour! Talk about double standards on steroids! Eh?
This was really well written. Thank you!

All?! Egypt is 20% Christian. Lebanon is 30% Christian. Syria is 12% Christian.

LOTS of ethnic groups don’t get states. The Kurds are one. Plenty in Russia too.
The genocide of other faiths by Muslims are relegated to tiny columns or not reported at all 😡😡
There is genocide of Christians going on in Africa by Muslims .
There is genocide of Hindus happening in Bangladesh by Muslims.
All minorities are persecuted in Pakistan and Bangladesh but no one baits an eyelid 🤬🤬

And then every Jew across the Middle East and North Africa was ethnically cleansed. What's your point?
The Arab Jews mostly despised Zionism in the 1940’s. They were very much afraid it was be bad for them.

Algeria has 300 with more coming back all the time. The government recently built a synagogue for them.
O M G ... you are literally arguing that life is awesome for Jews in Arab and Muslim countries? Wow. Historical revisionism.

It’s not a problem because those Jews don’t want to go back. They were happy to take off.
