Just so hard for one to understand when the enemy we fight is their enemy as well. They know the Islamists will not just stop with Israel, they know Iran and its ideology of hate will come after them next and yet they still abandon Israel and smear it every chance they get. Will the destruction of Israel make it better for the West? Will the Middle East dynamic change in favor of the West? Of course not .... it will only get worse and worse. I really cannot make sense of any of this. And it is not just the Times ....its all of mainstream .... The Washington Post ... CNN .... ABC ......all of them. papa j

I don’t think they believe that about the Islamists. Despite the Ayatollah’s “Death to America” slogan the media seems very neutral towards them. (Along with the Democrat Pary of course.)

IT is not Hate, but Liberal Guilt and Shame, the results of the dissonance caused by the out-of-date Liberal perspective on War and State power as applied to The Middle East Region of the world part of which we have now proven is in alliance with The Nazi Party: Hamas's Alliance with The Nazi Party and plans of Genocide against The Jewish People have all been monitored. The monitoring is with both The NYT and the Authorities here in Europe and in The US.

Fuck the NYT. On October 7, the Hamas terrorists were armed, the Israelis massacred were defenseless. The unanswered question is why did Israel disarm its citizens most of whom are IDF veterans and leave them vulnerable to mass rape and murder by Hamas? An incredibly stupid decision and the Israeli government is clearly culpable. Every Jewish family in Israel (and the US) should have a 9 mm handgun, an AR15 rifle and plenty of ammunition for both. Every adult and teenage member of the family should be proficient in their use. Have anti-gun Jewish politicians in both countries learned nothing from the Holocaust and the latest slaughter? Isn't it time for the Jewish people to tell them to go fuck themselves?

Good Synopsis for NYT, but more concerning to me is the infestation here on Substack.

Elizabeth Nickson, knowing that championing Israel would likely provoke a whirlwind of Jew Hate had only posted a brief paragraph or two since Oct 7 on Israel.

Finally, she couldn't be silent anymore, and posted the truth.

And sure enough, a huge portion of her audience turned out to be drooling Jew Haters and her comments page was filled with idiocy and lies.

I do have one issue with this essay and that is the assertion that the Nazis lost.

I am shocked so few realize the Nazis only lost militarily, politically, they won and that's who is currently running things and why we have migrants and trans and all the rest.

I agree John, and I read Nickson as well. That said, I would posit the following:

1) I don’t think you meant it, but what you wrote about Elizabeth could be taken to mean that she delayed writing anything defending Israel, or championing the truth about Oct. 7, because of concerns she would lose readership. I don’t believe that was the case but it certainly did provoke responses that revealed disturbing levels of antisemitism amongst her readership.

The scope and magnitude of antisemitism we are witnessing in the world is stunning, outrageous, and tragic. But, to this Bible-believing (Tanakh & Brit Hadasha) Christian Zionist, it is entirely consistent with End Time prophecies. ‘Ignorance is bliss’ may indeed be true to a point, but we are way past ‘late’ at realizing the great evil that largely has the world in its grip and is now making powerful moves to complete and secure that reality.

BUT (Behold the Underlying Truth), G-d…

2) I submit that it’s not so much that the Nazis ‘won and that’s who is running things’, as it is the evil being, Lucifer/Satan, and his minions, that survived - and thrived - in the aftermath of that great and tragic conflict. Ultimately, it is they who have inspired and directed the evil aspirations and schemes of mankind across the pages of history, and the world is now poised on the precipice of his prophesied greatest ‘success’ - commonly referred to as ‘The Tribulation’.

BUT (Behold the Underlying Truth), G-d…

No doubt there are many amongst the readers here who take issue with my faith and its corresponding worldview. I can’t do anything to change that; only the Spirit of G-d can open the eyes and hearts of individuals to see the true realities of this world, and their own lives. But I will make this final proposition:

The G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob reigns supreme over all creation, and He is pulling back the curtains to reveal what has largely been hidden (often in plain sight) in our world, to wake people up, and turn the hearts of many to Him for salvation. And He has never abandoned - nor will He ever abandon - His People, Israel. A refining fire is coming upon the entire world; that much is certain and inescapable. BUT, He will be with His Chosen People in the midst of it, and bring those who are truly ‘Abraham’s seed’ out of it, into the glorious fulfillment of His promised Earthly Kingdom.

Malachi 3:1-4

“1 Behold, I am sending My messenger to clear the way before Me, and the Lord whom you seek shall come to His Temple suddenly. As for the angel of the covenant that you desire, he is already coming. 2 But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can hold out when he appears? For he is like a smelter’s fire and like fuller’s lye. 3 He shall act like a smelter and purger of silver; and he shall purify the descendants of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they shall present offerings in righteousness. 4 Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasing to the LORD as in the days of yore and in the years of old.”

Malachi 3:6-7

6 For I am the LORD—I have not changed; and you are the children of Jacob—you have not ceased to be. 7 From the very days of your fathers you have turned away from My laws and have not observed them. Turn back to Me, and I will turn back to you—said the LORD of Hosts. But you ask, “How shall we turn back?"

The answer to that particular question is to be found in the entirety of the Word of G-d, but it can only become clearly recognized and received by the work of the Spirit of G-d, operating in the hearts of the humble who understand their sinful nature, their need of forgiveness and cleansing, and the need to seek Him for that redemption and salvation. A time of choosing is upon us all, but there is a particular focus on the Chosen People. May those who read take it to heart, and choose well.

Jeremiah 29:11-14

“11 For I am mindful of the plans I have made concerning you—declares the LORD—plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a hopeful future. 12 When you call Me, and come and pray to Me, I will give heed to you. 13 You will search for Me and find Me, if only you seek Me wholeheartedly.

14 I will be at hand for you—declares the LORD—and I will restore your fortunes. And I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places to which I have banished you—declares the LORD—and I will bring you back to the place from which I have exiled you.”

May the Lord continue to restrain and expose the evil that threatens the world, and is ultimately directed at His People, Israel. May He give her leaders and defenders wisdom, courage, power, and victory over her many enemies - both within and from without the camp - and may He turn the hearts of His People to seek, follow, and worship Him in truth and spirit, that they may be saved and walk in the fullness of His will - forever.

Excellent essay.

Equally guilty are the loyal Jewish subscribers to the Times. Somewhat akin to those Jewish old timers who were such admirers of FDR despite his refusal to order the bombing of the death camps. Today it’s the current crop of progressive Jews who are starstruck with the Obamas, Bernie Sanders, and NPR.

Oh and let’s not forget those who were so proud to demonstrate their “fairness” when the ACLU was successful in striking a blow for civil liberties by allowing Nazis to march in Skokie, Illinois. Sad.

I have put the whole of the Demographic and Military Argument, which has an unavoidable Right wing perspective because State Power is Right wing when it protects the People inside Nation states with armies and borders, from attack or impoverishment, to the NYT. Their editorial board is actually quite appreciative of my work because it is backed up with 500 pages of our years of monitoring here in Europe (which is with The ADL, The CST, The Jewish Agency, and the Authorities here in Europe) of The Nazis who have now re-formed The Nazi Party and who have attacked both The Jewish People and The State of Israel as well as The Russian People. Cognitive Dissonance, and its consequences for Jews, in Liberal institutions is not unique to the NYT. But the facts of Re-emergent Nazism and its backers high inside The State are now on the record, because this is now fact. We have also monitored The NYT now changing because they acknowledge these realities too. Am Israel Chai.

Why do I think replacing all these ‘leftist’ comments with ‘right wing’ ones would fit on any media account that catered to Fox News watchers, and all the right wing newspapers that try to influence Jews to vote for Trump? This is slanted, biased ‘reporting’ from a writer that makes the Future of Jewish look like Trumpism! Read more than just the headlines of The NY Times. Consider reading all the articles, and yes those great opinion writers to get a more complete picture! When you think Thomas Friedman is anti- Israel you really lose your audience.

Lmfao Elaine there is ONE [often crazy and antisemitic] Fox News against probably a dozen major liberal-leaning broadcast networks and papers, and as mentioned in this essay the NYT is the largest and most “reputable” which is why I focused on them.

I also read the contents of NYT articles and they very much mirror what the headlines espouse. I think it’s honestly quite sad that you are so fragile about the sanctity of a single NYT writer’s words (or even if it was multiple— you would think this was quite obvious, but for those too dense or triggered to understand what I was getting at, please note that having a few token pro-Israel or moderate writers doesn’t reverse the overarching narrative of the paper, which is unequivocally anti-Israel) that you are unable to see the forest for the trees.

Since you have set out to make me some kind of far-right fanatic (LMAO, do you do that every time you encounter information that challenges your worldview?), enjoy a smattering of my social justice writing that is probably far more than you’ve ever contributed to advancing a progressive agenda and opening people’s minds to injustice. Have a nice day!

Lmao which one is it, Elaine— am I one-sided because I am allegedly a right wing fanatic, or is it that I read NYT *and* write (not “read” as you said but WROTE those) social justice articles which makes me a left-wing fanatic?

For clarity, I write about liberal/progressive values, and I regularly read from liberal AND conservative-leaning publications! Pot—> kettle on the accusations of being pedantic, but sure, when you’re caught with your tail between your legs on being parochial and reactionary, I suppose you say what you must to cover your tracks!

Also, try to take a deep breath and read before your respond— I never called YOU a “progressive.” I referred to my OWN writings and political experience and affiliation in most of my adult life as “progressive,” very specifically in the sense of being on the more left-end of the liberal spectrum; I always identified and voted as a liberal in my adult life. And yet, again, going back to YOUR fragile words, you set out to make me look like a Trump fanatic, because I challenged you.

And you still haven’t been able to refute anything I’ve said in the article, presumably because you worship liberalism and a co-opted Reform version of “tikkun olam” as your divine idol more than you connect with any of the critical thinking that Judaism engenders. Enjoy your golden Kamala statue 💩

Expand full comment
Elaine Adelman's avatar

Re the last comment before your response was cut off: when you referred to yourself as a progressive you were trying to appear as more enlightened than you appeared to this reader. That, In my view, would only be done if you thought I admired progressives. I’ve had several exchanges with different writers but never had the experience of being told that I was “parochial ,’ reactionary’ and had ‘a tail between my legs,’ so I thank you for confirming my initial reaction to your article- one that lacked honesty and balance. That’s a Jewish and Zionist perspective you should cultivate.

I’m shedding light on antisemitic biases in the NYT and you’re triggered because you worship Kamala like a golden calf, because you have your priorities twisted. Again, you can’t actually refute anything said in my essay because you’re too busy feeling resentful that someone challenged your beloved liberal media and that you can’t fit them into a box (because of your parochial and reactionary worldview, dear)!

Expand full comment
Elaine Adelman's avatar

Each response from you becomes more insulting. Your calling me a Christian Jew is insulting not just to me but to Christians. How do you purport to know the kind of Jew I am? I can presume the kind of Jew you are even though I do know you except through your crude retorts. You can not be very confident of your writing ability or you wouldn’t have to hurl insults at people because they don’t agree with your position. You also assume that not only am I, dear, but that I, love the liberal media, whoever they are. I love the New York Times, foibles and all but the real low blow is your alluding to Kamala Harris to a golden calf! Keep posting your diatribes but no matter what you write you lack credibility based on the thin skin you exhibit. Btw, The NY Times will not be calling!! I’ll be surprised if you even have a future with The Future of Jewish !
