Amazing piece and such moral clarity . How important a principle that peace without defence is no peace at all ! I so wish this piece is read widely . Victor

A masterpiece.

"We say shalom when we meet because we hope every encounter is a peaceful one.". I hope that we collectively accept that "Kumbayah reached its Use-by-Date on Simchat Torah (Oct 7, 2023)". I hope our pre-emptive talent and ideal is ready and able because this still the beginning of a new and greater phase unfolding in order to blossom.

Just as the romantically inclined suffer unrequited love, the jews suffer unrequited peace. Pathetically seeking to live in peace with those who seek to annihilate them is foolish. Peace through strength is the only way forward and hopefully the Jewish peaceniks will have figured that out since 10/7.

יִרְמְיָהוּ shalom shalom v'ein shalom.

יד וַיְרַפְּאוּ אֶת-שֶׁבֶר עַמִּי, עַל-נְקַלָּה--לֵאמֹר, שָׁלוֹם שָׁלוֹם; וְאֵין, שָׁלוֹם.

14 They have healed also the hurt of My people lightly, saying: 'Peace, peace', when there is no peace.

The basic prerequisite for peace is justice. "Everyone talks of peace, but not of justice"

Jews worldwide understand anti-Semitism. Many, if not most, have experienced it. What we haven't experienced is living under a constant threat of death. Still, Israelis hope for peace eventually. The best way to achieve peace is to prepare for war. That does not mean to fight, only be prepared to fight. So when there is war, Israelis are prepared to fight. This is not what they want, but it is what they have been given. Never confuse the willingness to fight with the necessity to fight. Israeli Jews know what they must do to survive, to eventually experience peace. Pray that the Lord will always bless the Israelis with the strength to do what is necessary.
