Given the overwhelming success of our adversaries in the communications war, across the landscapes, we would be foolish not to adopt similar strategic, cohesive, comprehensive and organizational tactics. There is no time left for ad-hoc luck and experimentation in implementing effective outcomes on a fragmented basis. This project requires top tier organizational leadership to dedevelop the various required strategies, funding and steps to carry out this ambitious task. The bar has already been set and we have need expeditious outcomes to effectively state our case across multiple venues.
Gary, why did you write this article? You don't care what the Jew on the street thinks. You said so in your essay .... all you care about are what the large donors think and not the guy or girl who might donate 10, 20, 100, 200 a year. You big shots get together and you do your thing. The important thing is the money, you guys are really great in that campaign department. Got one today from WIN and a Statement from ADL. Yesterday, I got one from Maccabee Task Force and the list goes on and on. You are certainly unified in that regard. You say the same things ..... How we are at a crucial period and the answer is always money. Send money and we will get the job done.
Guess what Gary? You guys are doing a shit job. The enemy is literally destroying us. If we care about results, you should all be fired. Thats the truth of it. Buddy, you haven't even come up with a good chant to counter "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free"? What's our unified catchy soundbite slogan? What can the kids wear that looks cool to counter the Keffiyeh? Cant you guys come up with something?
I dont want to keep ranting .... I have written so many of the organizations on various issues. My pet one is having all Yeshiva and Jewish schools make self defense classes as part of the curriculum. You can't graduate unless you know how to kick butt. Never even got an answer back ... only more requests for money.
The most important election is coming up in my lifetime and not one of you guys has endorsed a candidate. Why is that? Dont you think that the outcome will determine our future and the future of Israel? Personally, i am a Trump fan but just stop being cowards and endorse one and tell us why. Perhaps you are afraid to endorse because the big donors support a party or are even affiliated with the party or maybe its one of the CEO's? I believe one of the CEO's in one of the large organizations is very very prominent in the Democratic Party. Cant you guys Lead for god sake. You should always have a phone number and a contact name or email address when we have feedback or an issue we want to ask or talk about. You never seem to have a direct contacts name ... why is that? You guys do everything you can to avoid the public. The public may have better ideas than you guys living in the "swamp" or the "ivory tower" but I guess that does not fit the agenda.
Glad you guys were out there schmoozing .... how much donation money was spent on that one?
Such a well-written and thought out comment! Bravo Jerry Kleiner, you were hitting on all cylinders and then some: ineffectiveness, unwilling to fund practical measures to improve safety of Jewish communities, sitting on the fence in this election. I'd rather contribute to Trump's campaign than to many of these organizations.
"My pet one is having all Yeshiva and Jewish schools make self defense classes as part of the curriculum"
When asked for money, I've offered to fund Krav Maga classes for some number of students and then gotten no response.
Some of these organizations become self-perpetuating, using donated funds to raise more funds and accomplishing little of value.
Thanks again Sir!
PS From the river to the sea, Israel is what you see.
Thanks Les and thanks for offering Krav Maga classes. Such a wonderful gesture and it truly is reprehensible that they didn't even have the courtesy to get back to you. Frankly, I am truly surprised that the article was written in the first place. I give the author credit for writing it. I also think you are spot on that they are self-perpetuating, using funds to raise more and doing very little.
Les, one more thing ... please dont call me Sir, call me papa j. Only the wife and parole officer call me Sir.
All the best my boy and keep up the good fight! papa j
PS like the chant, now if you come up with the substitute Keffiyeh, I will vote for you for CEO!
You'll need another CEO then as I'm sartorially outgunned to produce a substitute Keffiyeh. Best I can come up with is some blue and white sailing rope made into a bracelet or necklace ...
Version 2: From the river to the sea, Israel is what you see and it's already free
Don't be down-hearted. On the ground, Jewish people are well organised. We have martialled all the arguments to counter the Anti-Semites and the Nazis and the Racists who are using (and proved to be using) the Palestinian issue to attack The Jewish People. These counter-arguments are now available online for us all to use. I have sent all my posts to the Jewish Defence organisations here in Britain, where I am based. We have fully monitored the Re-formation of The Nazi Party which we have heard has the backing of Nazi Elements in The State, including The British MI6, and German BND: All now in the Record. If you want our stuff, send me your email address. Best Wishes Am Israel Chai!
Jerry, What I meant by 'Defence Organisation' is the ADL in the US, The CST here in The UK: These are not just physical defence against The Nazis, but are just as valuable organisations which gather and protect the record of the rise of Neo-Nazism against us, so lawful action can be taken. Best Wishes.
As I read this I thought about Meir Kahane....I think he was extreme but he made some very reasonable comments about Jewish self assertion. And that should be our learned lesson from the antisemitic tidal wave. Our enemies are not just in Muslim organization....the Beinarts, the "Anglo" White professors with their keffiyahs.....a defensive posture is no longer enough....go on the offensive. Stop the apologizing. stop we support Israel but.... the "settements" but the episodes of vigilante attacks on Arabs, but the dead Arab kids Hamas uses as human shields....if the Asian, Pacific student union of Harvard and Columbia and NYU, the Latino coalition, the queers against Israel genocide....don't ally with us....fcuk them.
Ryan, The Rebbe (that's what he was called) was truly a wonderful man who loved his people with all his heart. I know later on when living in Israel he went extreme but what he did for Jews like me living in the projects and bad neighborhoods cannot be praised enough. Also, one of the most charismatic people I have met in my lifetime.
True collaboration or teamwork should mean that different players or organizations can work at their areas of expertise without compromising red lines such as Halacha
Divisiveness – often toxic divisiveness – is what destroyed ancient Israel and it’s one of the reasons we haven’t been able to launch an effective global PR campaign to destroy the false narratives of our enemies. I realize that we will never get Jews – and our myriad organizations – to agree on many things but key points to agree on are this:
- Hamas – and all of Iran’s proxies – must be eliminated.
- All remaining Jewish hostages held by Hamas must be returned to us
- Gaza, Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights and all of Jerusalem must be under Israel’s control
- The current Iranian regime must be eliminated, either by Israel alone or through an alliance, depending on what US administration Israel must deal with.
Much depends on whether this is viewed as an effort to work more efficiently and more broadly or whether it looks like a power grab by the JNF.
If this is a well-planned effort to fight anti-Semitism on campus rather than a power grab, then one might well ask why major organizations devoted to this cause, like Christians United for Israel (cufi.org) were not included. Wouldn't coordination with such large groups be efficient and effective?
After the response of some Jewish groups to Oct 7, not just JVP but also various groups of rabbis for ceasefire and others, it would make sense to exclude some Jewish groups but include some Christian ones in the fight against anti-Semitism.
Are you sure there is an organized Jewish world? Was there ever? My students always tell me that Judaism's beauty lies in its diversity. However, at some point, this diversity seems to backfire. The issue of who is a Jew is as old as being a Jew itself. Why is that the case? I have been sharing some essays from Muslim thinkers—not because I endorse their way of thinking—but because I see a much more unified approach. The ummah is not as divided (beyond Sunni and Shia questions). But maybe it is and want to learn about it and welcome being proven wrong.
I am not sure it by force. The idea of submission is also works for their unity. I am not saying I endorse it, all I am saying that often they appear more united and there are very few cases of speaking against ummah. But yes, the next comment is accurate.

I enjoyed this a lot....more rhyming chants.....they don't have a monopoly on chants. IN MY NAME.

Dan, I dont know of a Jewish Defense organization in Canada or the US. There is nothing like the JDL. I will send you my email in a private message.

Israeli General Amir Avivi has the correct vision for Israel if we want Israel to survive. Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyHxkxf_Gc4

And I agree with George Lubell.
Islam is a more top-down religion. Beliefs and policy are decided at the top.
Aren’t they unified because of force not consent?
I am not sure it by force. The idea of submission is also works for their unity. I am not saying I endorse it, all I am saying that often they appear more united and there are very few cases of speaking against ummah. But yes, the next comment is accurate.
Yes, I coupled physical and psychological forces together, but you differentiated them.
