If they can recode Jewishness, if they can make the erasure of Jewish legitimacy appear as moral evolution, they will have created the prototype for the global isolation of Jews.
Everyone seems to be missing or overlooking the existential threat facing the Jewish people and the world today, Dan is monitoring the Nazis who are no more than a minor irritation in comparison with the threat we face from islam, while Trump and Witkoff are negotiating peace deals and the future of Israel, the very people he is negotiating with are working on completing their plans to infest Europe and the UK with untold hatred of Jews, Qatar, Iran, UAE, and everyone of these sycophant nations have us cornered, they now own every major western university campus, they are plowing funds into every western election including the USA, Canada and Australia, the fall of NYC, is catastrophic.
We have ignored the severity of this problem for far to long and while we have been working on our lives and making everything we do about living today, they have been playing the long game and have been eroding and buying their way into everything we thought we had under control, we are now almost completely isolated, so make no mistake we are in deep trouble and it may already be to late to recover from this, islam is coming for us, and when they are done with us they will turn on those that helped them to get us, this does not end well for the Jews, for Israel or for the world.
As was seen on Oct 7th, these savage animals have absolutely no moral compass, they have no rules or ethics, they are savage killers out of the stone age and unless the world puts them back into their cages or into pine boxes, we are going to feel the terror that these vile creatures are about to unleash on civilized society over the next 10 to 15 years.
You are right, I missed Turkey and Erdogan, he is the personification of evil and he has Nukes on his soil, he may not be in control of them today but the moment he believes he has the upper hand he will turf out the Americans and Nuke Israel, you can bet on it!
The Jewish Social Justice Committees will Kvell over this guy. He will play into their hands by professing his love for his Jewish friends, the Bar Mitzvah’s he has attended, etc. They will eat it up. All the while he will destroy any relationship between NYC and Israel. Once the Jews have no homeland of significance any more, at least by NYC standards, and no country to protect them, they will be next. Watch and learn.
I am always impressed with the quality of thought in these writings from Future of Jewish - but I think that what starts as a very legitimate way of spreading more intelligent, considered and educated information can become so despairing in the constant reiteration that everything is terrible, it can cause people to shut off. The traditional Jewish press do this in Britain, with almost every article telling us that everyone hates us. Be aware about what is happening around the world, but the level of alarmism can be soul destroying.
Neil, I understand your frustration, and we try to find a balance. But right now we can’t ignore that antisemitism is completely out of control and pretending it away is not a strategy. We need to be vigilant and educate people on how antisemitism is being twisted to appear as virtuous. This is not the blatant Nazi antisemitism. It is more sophisticated and therefore has the ability to be more dangerous.
Then our talented people should put their heads together and figure out how we got here to such a precarious stage in our history. What can our people do to wake up from their slumber?
It's a balance, for sure. I have previously admitted to being fixated on our current circumstances. I am a positive person by nature, however the blindness of the electorate in total (not recognizing the snake charmer they just elected), scares me.
Yes, and it simply is not true that everyone hates us either! We monitors have had extraordinary support from non-Jewish Partners as we successfully and easily proved the Nazis had re-formed The Nazi Party. In many places now, the Jewish input is really appreciated.
In my experience, hatred against Jews is used by unscrupulous Leaders here in Europe TO MAKE MONEY. This is the real reason it is currently being backed by Elements of The State. Once this Program is understood and proved and shown, people see Hatred for what it is. The danger of Nazism as the original Terrorist Ideology which killed 50 Million white people is that it is the route psychopaths take to commit mass murder. Thus, Freedom is lethally threatened for everyone under Nazism. This is true, and well understood. Jews are appreciated as a defence against Nazism.
I am an Anti-Nazi monitor here in London UK. We have been supplying analysis and counter intelligence about the Re-formation of The Nazi Party here in Europe who were supported by Nazi-sympathising Elements in the spy agencies here, for the CST and the Authorities here. We have been very successful outing these people. We post here to the Future of Jewish website. We will keep you informed!
Neil, I appreciate your sentiment .. and yes, to the extreme, the worry is soul destroying. So we have to be ultra resilient. As the late Rabbi Sacks (z'l) of the UK pointed out, there are antisemites in every generation, and this Jew hate virus is forever mutating.
In a way, it is the antizionism of fellow Jews that is the most demoralizing for me. And it is not all about strangers, but also people in my congregation and family. It is as if rejecting Israel or condemning Netanyahu will save them from jew-hatred on the political left. Total assimilation will not save them, of course, even if they forget who they are.
I’m not informed enough to comment on this particular account, but I definitely feel a “doomscrolling” vibe around a lot of Jewish oriented social media these days. I mean I get it to a degree, but we also don’t need to put the worst possible spin on everything and sink into despair and anger.
When the world looks the way it is, there's a fine line between pragmatism and pessimism, and a lot of Jewish publications (particularly those that didn't see this coming) sometimes cross over from hyperbole into hysteria.
Having said that, I think a lot of the conversation right now is trying to get people aligned on what are the challenges we're facing - and these are conversations that are common to many other groups in the world.
The world is changing, the rules that governed the last 80 years will not be the rules that govern the next 80, and noone is really sure what that means because almost noone alive remembers the last time the rules of the world shifted. Everyone feels it, and it's an uncomfortable time for many (not least of which Jews).
Having said that, it's also a time for change, and a time when we can bring about meaningful and positive change for ourselves and the world around us - and so as one of the authors of a lot of pieces which can come off as a little "doom and gloom" I will say that my writing comes from a place of pragmatic optimism - the pragmatic side says "a lot of bad things are happening in the world" and the optimistim says "we survived the pharoah we'll survive this to".
Don't let the doomscrolling get you down - people engage with the content that evokes the most immediate reactions, and that content is usually them getting a better understanding of the problem - when you start to talk about solutions your audience drops off substantially and the engagement is usually much more critical (which is fun if you're someone like me who's interested in solutions, but hard for anyone trying to make a living writing).
Forgive me for saying … but as it is often said, ‘less is more’. This is two articles in one … and the first, for me, is the most concerning and the most alarming one.
Guy Goldstein’s outlining of how Mamdani may approach the Jewish community in NY was a fascinating read.
A summary of Judaism and Islam, as follows ..
9 million diaspora Jews compared to 1,8 billion Muslims
One majority Jewish country compared to between 53 and 57 Muslim majority country
No wonder the politics that world Jewry encounters is so complex. The relationship that diaspora Jews have with Israel varies according to their own domestic political leaning, extent of their beliefs in both our religion, as Jews, and to the extent of how we see Israel.
@bullfrog69 Your second and third paras are my thoughts also. Excellent analysis of how Mandani will proceed. Forewarned is forearmed but then what to do?
Concatenating two articles creates a problem if one wants to share only one.
Mamdani’s enablers and followers will not be satisfied with a fist in the velvet glove approach that is described. These folks are radicals and radicals demand visible actions. Unless Mamdani can mollify them somehow into remaining quiet, he will be forced to be radical too.
That’s what I came here to say- The usual Jew-hating folks will see his election as their green light for violence, harassment and vandalism. He’ll either have to crack down on them or just let it happen with faux sympathy and false declarations of solidarity. I’m pretty sure I know which path he’ll take
The Jew hate in Britain is not currently being addressed enough. The police forces and Crown Prosecutors are not following through and the likes of the General Medical council are allowing medical staff to openly get away with Jew hate remarks and signs.
There are a number of doctors that have posted on social media, for example, Dr Rahmeh Aladwan publicly stated on social media that the Royal Free Hospital was ‘a Jewish supremacy cesspit’. She has also been called out for doing a ‘slit your throat’ gesture at Jewish protestors. Initially the GMC claimed they were only responsible for medical concerns.
It is complicated because the Medical Practitioners Tribunal indicated she has a ‘right to freedom of expression’.
whilst it's all well and good that Davie has resigned .. jumped from a sinking ship .. wouldn't it be more honourable to stay and put things right ? .. as well as lose all entitlements to any bonus sum.
I follow the Jewish Chronicle and sense that BBC is culturally antisemetic and ashamed of Christianity and Judeo-Christian heritage that it has become pro-Islamist. It is more interested in building support and viewership in the Muslim world than it is in balanced reporting. They appear to be institutionally competing with Al Jazeera for Muslim and left wing audiences. Are they taking money or promoting "truths" from Qatar, also?
Mamdani may well like the attention and the ability to protect his extremists, but at some point, the more radical Islamists will put him into an untenable position.
I think, once the New Middle East takes off (after Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and other terror actors are sufficiently neutralized), and Abraham Accords are being signed everywhere and investments begin to flow and business ventures break ground, and peace, prosperity and coexistence breaks out--that all talk about Israel and "legitimacy" will be moot. Israel will be the single most important player in the New Middle East and boycotting or throwing shade on Israel will be seen as ridiculous at best, and at worst--harmful not to Israel, but to the Arab countries trying to rise up and join the 21st century with Israel's help. The New M.E. will be like Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. Only the most ardent Jihadis will keep trying to cause havoc, but they will be far fewer because they will be suppressed, just like the UAE suppressed them. It's a rough road cleaning up the terror, but this is what almost all the countries in the region are counting on, and it depends on Israel making it happen.
That’s the plan - it remains to be executed. Meanwhile, the Qatar money inflicted generational damage that will also remain to be seen if it can be undone in relatively shorter time.
To Daniel: I like the idea of asking how important Jewishness is to a person, rather than synagogue affiliation. I, for one, no longer attend synagogue and consider myself an atheist. HOWEVER, I am completely and emphatically Jewish in terms of culture (ethics, humor, food), a passionate love of Israel, and DNA. Just saying.
Mamdani himself will wear velvet gloves, but his radical buddies will launch organized attacks knowing that he won't prosecute them. There are organized Muslim settlements in upstate NY and in NJ that are heavily armed.
We Jews are not alone. Has Mamdani forgotten about the Nazis! Well, we in London have not. We have monitored The Nazi Party’s re-formation again, right here in Europe, all now recorded. The Nazis tried to do the same to The Russian People, and the Ukraine War, started by Nazi militia who murdered Russians in The Donbas who were backed by the German BND. The Nazi scumbags have FAILED there, just as they have failed against Israel. Remember! There are billions of us, and so few of them. So, do not be scared of the failed Nazi effort to take us one-by-one. They are just pathetic hate-filled Nazi scum. Only the Anti-Nazi State Power of Israel, and of Russia, is the massive final and immutable and successful bulwark against Nazism, as Mamdani will soon learn once he is reminded what re-emergent Nazism had plans for here in Europe. Hatred is pathetic and always looses in the end. But it takes state power to successfully organise against Genocide.
Both of these essays bring to mind the recent post from Thomas P Balasz about Al Jolson and "the Jazz Singer".
It seems to me that whether others love or hate us, they ALL believe that that have the right to define us and instruct us in just who we are and set the boundaries on our rights. Problem is, it is ever-shifting.
This is one of those times when for our own wellbeing we need to remind ourselves that other people are a mistake, but cannot afford to turn inward because it is too dangerous.
very smart analysis of the DSA/Mamdani strategy going forward. As framed as ultra white privileged and oppressive, Jews will be as written in this piece, tolerated on the basis of their dejudaizing just as Israel must be de Judaized/Zionized into a bland "nation of all its people" to win his "recognition. As to who is a Jew: as Howard Jacobson wrote in The Finkler Question, there's a range of boomers and gen Z whose Jewishness is based on "shame." Israel being the source of their great and overwhelming shame so that parody Jewish seders and sukkahs are created for the real victims in the victim game, the Palestine Arabic speakers...now referred to as the Palestinians. Jews who learned to repeat tikkun olam ad nauseum and how they are best at being Jewish by not being Jewish. The one religion never to be mocked, questioned, satirized or critiqued: Islam. And the one people beyond reproach of any kind including mass rape, murder and so forth....the 'Palestinians" Terror is an appropriate response and even admirable for the oppressed. Unless it's Jews...then terror is terror.
This is a fight against the best propagandists in the world & they’ve been at this for a while.
Do we fight on the narrative front or not? Israel has those skills - will they engage them?
Also, every year American universities graduate 100s of 1000s of freshly brainwashed antizionists . It is imperative that we do something about that. But what?
Excellent insights! We are in an era of moral inversion, totally ungrounded and in a giddy ethical free-fall, like Alice in Wonderland.

I don't understand how we allow ANY foreign monies into universities That's the system that needs to be overhauled; not Parks and Rec.
Totally agree. I'm awaiting a second 9/11.
(Personally, I prefer pine boxes, but I will reluctantly opt for cages.)
I would question whether the UAE is in the same nest of Turkey, Iran and Qatar .. but I stand to be corrected.
You are right, I missed Turkey and Erdogan, he is the personification of evil and he has Nukes on his soil, he may not be in control of them today but the moment he believes he has the upper hand he will turf out the Americans and Nuke Israel, you can bet on it!

I try to follow England because we are 15 years behind. Do you see any helpful analysis in Britain?

To Guy: First, your piece brought tears to my eyes -- the kind of tears that recognize the real possibility of terror looming in the near distance.
"It is not imposed by religion but by virtue, not by threat of death but by fear of moral disapproval." We must stop caring about disapproval.
We should stop calling mamdani a socialist. He's a totalitarian marxist and jihadist terrorist.
@Joshua, thank you for sharing these two scripts.

It’s not being addressed at all.
I hadn’t heard of medical staffs doing that stuff openly, it’s even worse in Britain than I realized. Drifting into Third Reich territory
There are a number of doctors that have posted on social media, for example, Dr Rahmeh Aladwan publicly stated on social media that the Royal Free Hospital was ‘a Jewish supremacy cesspit’. The covid playbook all over again ! The tyranny of virtue as Mr. Lewis called it is the most oppressive of all forms.
