Thank you, timely and very well written. I'm forwarding this to a couple of American friends who asked me at dinner a few days ago if I didn't feel bad at all for the "poor Palestinians".

There’s an Israel derangement syndrome that Iike all derangement syndromes is not a function of excess empathy or misplaced empathy but of violently inclined hatred. All wars create shortages. The amount of effort that went into feeding Gaza was extraordinary while extreme malnutrition is still a problem in many parts of the

world. If you go to extraordinary

lengths to avoid any of the consequences of war, you stunt the sense of loss that changes minds. I am not sure what Israel seeks to accomplish. They have terrorists a highly sympathetic population and hamas is not gone the population is being coddled in wartime (im speaking specifically just about war I have eyes I see the rubble)

But how is this going to end any cycle. And the world doesn’t care about the Palestinians who don’t wage war and think this incessant war machine and fascist kleptocracy isn’t a way forward or they at the very least want to live life and not make the eradication of Israel a reason for being. The media is so corrupt it’s not even worth analyzing. It’s a state media and may as well be an arm of the Hamas ministry. I read an interview where a Palestinian complained there’s no variety of food and listed the foods they crave and yes I’m sure this was true but a little perspective. The media could never address 1. Hamas stealing food reselling it at extortionate prices 2. The rampant genocidal violence taught in unrwa schools (if this continues good luck having peace ever) 3. Hamas using their own including the most vulnerable as human shields. 4. The complicity of much of the population (but what do you expect given the schools and the propaganda and life under Hamas- oh antifa do you know what anti fascism means?) 5. Floating a two state solution like it’s never been floated and rejected. Now it would just lead to a full scale war. Since we’ve established resettling refugees in any of the huge spaces of their “brethren” is off limits that Israel can barely annex any areas what would happen following a full scale war? What exactly is Gaza? It’s not a state just because Israel blockades them partially and Egypt wholly (no uproar there) but Hamas is totally in charge and the area received enormous foreign aid to the point where Gaza is richer than alot of super impoverished countries and not poorer than most of their neighbors. So what happens? Hamas pretends they’re country building and build a war machine. They terrorize any dissenters and throw people off roofs (wait for the tweets on Israel throwing people off roofs- I’ve seen it- and I don’t even have the conscience to outline who tweeted it but let’s just say nothing shields one from being evil or a totally deliberate purposeful agent of dishonesty not being clergy not being a PhD. I felt sick when a mother detailed the body weight of one of the hostages found shot dead in the tunnel. NONE of the hostages were treated well but you see degrees of inhumanity and torture. The Red Cross is a vile organization. Obviously one was better off being held captive in a civilian home than in the tunnels. But you hit the nail on the head. Well fed captors delivering skeletons. The media doesn’t care. They reported that the girls were in their IDF uniforms like they didn’t see the girls kidnapped in their pajamas and maybe they should’ve done their homework. I appreciate what you’re doing it’s such important work but you’re trying to deconstruct a mass pathology in a kafkaesque world. You’re trying to follow a logic that people won’t even engage in because one millimeter into it their worldview and assertions shatter so the only recourse is to devise greater lies. I figured no one was starving not just bc of contrarian reports but bc of the amount of food flooding into the area and bc I know if people were starving (and it would only be Hamas fault if they were given the aid delivered) not a day would go by without seeing skeletal Palestinians in the news but it never materialized. I’m happy no one is starving but I’m not happy the war wasn’t finished. I hate humanity I really do for seeing what Israel trades to get hostages back how these deals are “fair.” So even if you suspend disbelief of the moral monstrosity of calling Palestinian murderers hostages that are being traded why can’t people be rational enough to see how lopsided these deals are bc Hamas is grotesque and Israel is moral.
