This is a must read article, for better understanding Israel’s going to the aid of the Druze in Syria. Uplifting actually..

Imagine how the Palestinian Arabs would have thrived if only they had followed the example of the Druze.

Some updating is needed in the article:

1. It's now Major-General Ghassam Alian (not Col.) and he is currently the head of COGAT.

2. Brig. Gen. Hisham Ibrahim was the previous commander of the IDF Armored Corps.

In both cases, those are impressive achievements for any career officer.

Meanwhile the usual Satan's in the international "community" denounce Israel for "encroaching on Syria" while doing nothing to protect the Druze population.

I live right next to a Druze village. There is a true feeling of brotherhood. Personally, I would love it if many Syrian Druze would come join their brothers in Israel. They are a great asset to the nation.

I am very proud of the IDF for how they have stood by the Druze, who have bled for and stood by Israel. If all the Arabs were as honorable and righteous as the Druze, there would have been peace in the Middle East decades ago.

Thank you for this article highlighting Israel's loyalty in standing with the Druze people. Few in the broader international community have even heard of the Druze, let alone know of the years of cooperation between them & Israel. Those who bless Israel will be in turn be blessed by Israel & her God!

Many Christians supported & still do Israel. Why did you say they didn't?

Most of the Arab Christian population in Israel did not support the Jewish state

It feels like many more Christian Arabs publicly support Israel. I believe many Arab Muslim Israelis do so as well, but are more reticent to declare so publicly. I live in an area of The Galille where there are Arab Muslims, Christians and Druze villages all around and my village has quite a few of each group living here. Life is harmonious here. The only friction I am aware of is the Mosques play the call to prayer on loudspeakers many times a day, including 5 am. The volume varies, sometimes it sounds like it is inside my bedroom. Some neighbors report it as a disturbance. Other than that we get along wonderfully.

Terrible shame the Arab nations had not attacked and tried to destroy Israel and the Palestinian people of Gaza and Yehudah and Samaria (the West Bank ) began terrorist attacks in Israel and taught the children to strive to destroy Israel. Regional cooperation would have allowed all to flourish.

30 years ago it was different... I am happy to know that attitudes have changed
