how eerily and scarily relevant this is today, with Israel still being accused of murder of innocents, and Jews elsewhere tripping over themselves to apologize, "as a Jew, I'm not like those others..." "He who excuses himself, accuses himself" indeed.
The man who wrote this brilliant and irrefutable speech, helped in a very important way, to prepare for Eretz Israel. G-d, historically, seems to defend and fight for his people, the Jews, when they are on the land, Eretz Israel. As He is doing now, with fervor. Thank G-d for the Land, his Land, your Land.
This article makes a strong case for the State of Israel. It brings home the point of what life is like without Israel. Antisemitism will be around as long as there is Christianity and Islam. It is a core tenet in both religions. A military and economic successful Jewish state is a lot for both religions theologically deal with.
Yes my morning reading makes me proud and confident. Now I am going to my weight lifting class to get stronger, just in case. Shabbat Shalom to all you people who just read this piece. XO🇮🇱🇺🇸
Wow! The prescience of Jabotinsky’s words makes them incredibly powerful. He really covers all the bases. Thank you so much for sharing his message. As awful as the current situation is, we know what to expect if we do not stand up strongly against our enemies and hold our heads up proudly among our neighbours. Mollification should be permanently tossed out of our toolkit. Israel has taught us that. October 7th and its aftermath confirmed it. Am Yisrael Chai!!
wowee.... hits the nail on the head don't it? I winced a mite hearin' that J felt that a lotta joos would become mad or unhinged under the near-endless pressures of bein' under attack, that barrage of hate.... over 100 years later it (thankfully!) ain't the case at all but I could see THAT part bein' used against us. In fact, most accounts I've read about HIM....are purdy ugly--he an' "Rabbi Kook" are both deemed bloodthirsty kooks! Of course... the "devil's in the details" an' Jabotinsky seems a lot LESS nutty when you read what'e wrote.... it's spot-on.
Frankly, livin' as pariahs duz affect the mental state of anybuddy... yer always lookin' behind you, one fist clenched....we in the dispora (over a couple generations) have mostly relaxed--now again we gotta wartch our dang backs... Defenses will surely go up--an' we'll be charged with full out paranoia an' mental illness fer "seein'" thangs... like antisemitism... lurkin' in the shadows. Of course it's there...always has been...
In my mind I too wanna tell our accuzers ta "go ta hell" (I think in Yiddish it's woise... "gai in drerd" in mah haus was saved fer those guilty of the most vile crimes, not just biAssed idiots)... HOWEVAH, tho' we gotta stop splainin' an' apologizin' as if we were guilty... I think the "go to hell" attytude is also ill-advised.... we are already thought of as bein' arrogant, rude, conceited, obstinate (wull... we do have some such in our midst lol) but I think the best way is to "not dignify that question/those accusations with an answer" an' to show aplomb, self-respect, an' not let sweat bead upon the brow.... If we act as if we mean it....methinks we come off far better.
I will say (thinkin' of that stack on the Brits) that Murray, Phillips, & Hausdorf have that aplomb, that sense of not lettin' the uglies get to 'em, the calm confidence. We all could use a speck've that "keep calm" self-control....it gives NOTHIN' back to our "enemies" an' shows us to be above them when they spit at us, growl with contorted faces, an' eject expletives of hate. We are an emotional people fer sure...but when our emotions git the best of us....we do ourselfs the worst harm.... This IZ a message for some of "us" in the US an' in Israel who git all frothed up an' say "shart" unworthy of THEMSELFS... I git it. But if children kin sit at dinner tables an' not throw food, we much teach our otherwise good/decent leaders to think 'fore they speak an' not behave like ill-mannered children in public... We've all heard it. We've all winced....
So sure, like JabbaTinsky--we kin all think "go ta h.e.double-toothpicks" (keepin' this in our minds' eye...) but we must always know that nasty back talk an' ugly rhetoric harms us JUST as much as grovelin' apologetic signs of guilt. No turnin' out our pockets. Calm confidence (icy if needed...) like our friends over the pond! (Bein' an act-russ myself prone ta drama....I also know that folks READ body language, they look at the tilt of yer head, the cadence....we must "act" the part of a proud people...not give 'em what they want...for all eyes ARE upon us an' we must care....
ALL the world's a STAGE...don' fer git it! :-) (an' with us joos, unlike with any other people, one bad "performance" kin turn the "haus" full out against us).
Non of the bullshit and the set-ups by AntiSemites high in The State matters anyway, because we now have our own country. So Good riddance, and fuck them. But Please do keep the testimony of people like Jabotinsky in print, because this shows what Jewish people have had to put up with.

This is what i need every morning.
This is relevant more than ever, yes. And thanks to social media, the spread of lies are worse than ever.

Jabotinsky’s words today are as correct as when they were first written!
Thank you... so relevant still unfortunately... shabbat shalom
He was a great inspiration and leader. Also check out this poem/song: Left of the Jordan
With the catch phrase: There are two banks of the Jordan: / This is ours – That one also!
