Jonathan Glazer embarrassed himself with his muddle headed garbage. He obviously prefers the unseen dead or dying Jews of his movie than living ones with uniforms and guns. There is also an internalized sense that we Jews relish victimhood and can’t deal with fighting back. It’s disgusting.

The British White paper kept so many of those European Jews from having a place to emigrate to when the Nazis trapped them in Europe. Learn some of your own history Jonathan.

You get another thumbs up. Normally I lose it when the use antisemitism as a word is so frequent. In this case kudos just a setup to make the point about Jew hatred and Jewish self hatred. Take it from a guy that grew up with “let’s go fly a kike and it’s you”. We need to stand up for ourselves in this world and educate others to the insidiousness of Jew hatred.

You hit the nail right on the head. The writer Max Nordau said it best: "The greatest triumph of the antisemites is to have the Jews see themselves through antisemitic eyes." Jonathan Glazer is a poster boy for this crowd of deluded self-haters who have transcended their Judaism. Here's my favorite take-down:

I am especially impressed with the ‘superiority’ concept where there becomes a cognitive dissonance when behaviors of Jews/Israel aren’t perfect. I’ve seen young people with expensive Jewish day school educations willing to throw the baby out with the bath water because they were ‘deceived’ that Israel isn’t all kibbutzniks singing kumbaya. How naive- the world is real, and people and governments aren’t perfect but that doesn’t make them bad. There is always room to improve

🙌👏 Bravo!🏆Is it not true though that being a self-hating Jew comes after other self-hating issues? All projections start somewhere within so obviously someone who makes a movie about the holocaust is still working out his own issues with his own Jewish heritage. Whether he wins an Oscar or not is irrelevant. But using that podium to add fuel to the fire is disgusting and shameful because he used the most sensitive Jewish history for his own glory. Period. He made that clear.

So tired of the duplicitous, self-loathing Hollywood Left (actually, the entire global Left). And the latest venom spewed by Schumer shows exactly how ignorant and evil the Democrat Party has become (and how cozy they are with Iran). I apologize for the repeat gripe, but I don’t understand how any American Jew can vote Democrat.

I was so pleased to read your comments here. I watched that Oscars speech and was so shocked by it!! In Britain we have a large group of these liberal Jews appearing as commentators on various channels - they are anathema to me, where is their identity, what do they stand for? What is their purpose? Other than what you say, to blend in. I find it appalling.

Self hating Jews live in a bubble disconnected from the Jewish world surrounded by the so called liberal left who demonstrate at every perceived injustice. If you live in this world and these are your "friends" you aren't going to go against the grain on Israel/Gaza/Palestine, climate change of trans rights. So they march alongside people who support and glorified the death of your fellow Jews in Israel. They blot out or ignore the fact these people would do the same to them, given half a chance because theyre an anti-Zionist. They don't think Jews deserve a country of their own.

I regard self hating Jews as traitors and have no time for them.

Joshua, you're on fire with this article. People like Jonathan Glazer, who are Jew hating, really believe that if they criticize what Israel or Jews are doing and supporting, that the actual Jew haters will embrace them. They may embrace them until a crisis erupts in their midst, and watch how quickly they will turn. One example was in Poland, when the Jews found out their "friends and neighbors" who they thought were genuine, gave them up quickly when the Nazis arrived.

What’s interesting is Jonathan Glazer’s movie has nothing to do with Judaism and is taken place outside the walls of a concentration camp. Yet he felt the need to expose his self hatred anyway.

Instead of a comment, I will tell you a parable.

One day a Jew got tired of being a Jew. And he decided to completely change his life. He divorced his Jewish wife, moved to a country with a minimal Jewish population, changed his religion, and became a Catholic. He also changed his first and last name and everyone now called him (well, let’s say) Javier Gonzalez.

He lived for many years without remembering that he was a Jew, observing other traditions and not at all different from the people who surrounded him. He was pleased and believed that he had made the right choice.

One day he heard someone asking his neighbors on the street, “How can I find Javier Gonzalez?”

And they answer him: “We have two Javier Gonzalez, which one do you need, the one with the butcher shop at the end of the street or the one who is Jewish?”

(several conclusions can be drawn from the parable, and I use this each time depending on the topic)

Excellent piece - Glazer embarrassed himself by colluding with the same people who will throw him under the bus the moment he ceases to be of use to them. Assimilation is a poor long term survival strategy for Jews.

A couple of thoughts: 1) I hated it that Madoff and Epstein were Jewish BECAUSE I knew that anti-semites would use it to reinforce their anti-semitism. 2) The idea that "I'm just like you" so you shouldn't hate me is actually not egalitarian or inclusive (or whatever you want to call it). We should be willing to accept the differences, applaud them, revel in them, enjoy them -- so long as they are not barbarians. What we are fighting now is not a different religion or race or dietary proclivities; it's an ideological death cult. THAT, is not acceptable.

In fact, the Holocaust was sometimes carried out against Jews who had assimilated into German culture and are "just like them". So that's NEVER a protective shield. Overall, my understanding is that Nazis simply hated Jews at the level of race. Not really different now, as the reason for the hate changes constantly from one century to another, from one country to another. Some humans need to hate the "other."

The Jewish people were assimilated in Germany. In fact, they were extremely loyal citizens, loved their country, and often identified primarily as Germans, not Jews. They did not dream of what was coming for them.

All true. Very sad and after Schumer made his despicable plea to dictate who should run a Democracy I feel lost in America. In Islam a Jew who sides with the enemy ( or any denomination) is a dhimmi. Dhimmis pay a Jiza tax to be able to survive. Glazer sold his soul and for that he will be shamed by Hashem. He is now dead to me. I don't care how brilliant his films are now or in the future..I will never support him and I feel sadness for his children.

Jews are experiencing the divide between high-status Jews playing the eliteness game (which, by the way, appears to have deep roots in heretical Christianity - weird, eh?) and all the other Jews, who value the pursuit of national values that strengthen the State, whether that State is Israel, the USA, or another. Humanity’s collective high-status people, who are playing the eliteness game, need to be evangelized to play the citizen/patriot game instead (I am a Christian, so I must add that the Jesus’s disciple game is superior to both - make up your own mind).
