I am neither a Jew, nor Israeli, but I support Israel and the Jewish people fully. Things are going down the drain here in the Netherlands at an hitherto unexpected scale. Be thankful that you have Israel. Make sure Israel is and stays safe as, alas, it is the only safe place for Jews. I will do whatever I can to help you, but the forces of darkness and the sheer suicidal mindset of "progressive" westerners are overwhelming.
Empathy? Intellectual honesty? From the "world"? Ha! I can also hope that one day kosher pigs will fly, but I doubt it will happen any time soon. Meanwhile, keep the shields polished brightly and keep intentions true as the b.s. continues to swirl.
WOW! That was such an insightful article. I completely agree with almost everything you said. It is vital that God’s people live in the land that God gave them, follow the mandates that were laid out and worship God in the way they were commanded.
The only thing I would point out is that as populations move around the world, it is almost a requirement that they assimilate into their new home, as much as possible. This affords them a time of transition into their new society. Some traditions and even their believes will stay the same, as they are deep rooted, but as generations come along, a connection to them will die out. That is the price of moving to a new country.
The Tanakh has a much clearer statement of what the pagan nations will do, which is still in the future. The Tanakh does not at any point give a positive view of the nations, and even those who have to serve as so-called "slaves" (the picture given by the scriptures) will come or will have to ("however you want to understand") a nation called ISRAEL. Well, but that is the picture given by the Tanakh, and I do not doubt that it will come true, maybe not in my lifetime, but Israel is now, it was not yet 1947.
God told the Israelites not to “assimilate”: worship their gods, take on their traditions, marry their women, etc., so basically, live among them but not become them.
The way I read that verse is that y’all will keep yourselves from becoming like non-Jews, but can still live in other countries. By virtue of living in those countries and thriving , those countries will be blessed by your presence. Is that correct?
The antisemites consider Israel a colonial state that should be abolished while at the same time not wanting Jews to exist within their own nations. What they want is Jewish genocide, period.
"I'm Jewish." Yes, but what are you? "I'm Jewish" Where did your people come from? How many times in my now long life have I gone through this. We are our diaspora identities. Even when we were repellent to the societies in which we lived. Here in America....we're a religion. Furthermore we're now in 2024 a newly minted race: "White Jews" The late Danny Thomas I learn was apparently p o c. I guess F. Murray Abraham an Assyrian is too. Is Armenia a p o c land or European? How about Spain. So ....obsession with Israel....either hating Israel or loving Israel. The recent vote shows indifference to Israel is pretty much the American Jewish stance. it's down the list of issues. And hey "what about the Israeli crimes?" Those settlements. How horrible. NY Times, NYorker makes that clear to its many Jewish reader. Zionism maybe throughout Jewish history but Herzl , an assimilated Jew, repulsed by the Drefyuss case was charismatic enough to start modern political Zionism in response to antisemitism. The West that hates and resents us knows that without this movement Palestine would be an Arab state with a powerless Jewish minority ,,,very small, their lives in Europe would be bliss...A Europe without Jews. The Myth of Palestine...the Myth of the equal treatment of Jews in the Muslim mideast....No ONE teaches. Seems like a number of Jewish STudies dept. actually teach the Palestine narrative as the preferred version of history. Or that the Jews actually do not exist as a people as a nation....we're a religious community only....just as the Palestine narrative would have it. Or WE'RE a RACE....WHITE JEW
Anti-Semitism seems to be different for some than for others, For me, the image of anti-Semitism can already be found in the Acts of the Apostles, i.e. in the New Testament.
No matter how you blame Herzl for political Zionism or the revival of anti-Semitism, so in the territory of the land of Canaan, there would hardly be life like it is today in any form without the Arab Emirate state.
But the Jewish state now exists, and the old hatred continues, as it has continued for 2000 years. That too becomes clear by reading history. With theo-philosophical thinking it has become a hatred of religions, which is really a one-sided hatred. Jesus has just become politicized, thanks to school education, or can it be called civilized? Nowadays, in the era of new illiteracy, its fruits are harvested as lack of conversation skills.
I don't "blame" Herzl for Zionism in modern form. Far from it....how he was able to go from an assimilated Jew to founder of this movement is remarkable. He galvanized Jews for taking control of their destiny. What is the Arab Emirate state in the land of Canaan? Hate of religions doesn't extend to Islam which has been intersectionalized with Leftist apocalyptic utopian romanticism.
I meant that no one else has the ability or the means to build the land of Canaan except the Arab Emirates. They have for a few years too. Christians have hatred for both the Jewish people and the believers of Islam. Christians consider Judaism a religion, even though it is not a religion. The Torah does not make the 12 tribes a religion, as the Christians call it a religion. Orthodoxy is a religion, which is culturally linked to Judaism as the largest community.

“ . . . And in you all the nations of the earth will be blessed.” The nations won’t accept it. So we return.
The Tanakh has a much clearer statement of what the pagan nations will do, which is still in the future. May I have the chapter and verse for that?
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you. Genesis 12:3
Thanks, Steve.

I don't have such a high opinion of myself. I hope others are blessed by my presence, as I am blessed in theirs.
Your piece, maybe unintentionally, supports the idea that Israel resulted out of antisemitism because you state that Jews needed protection.
The antisemites consider Israel a colonial state that should be abolished while at the same time not wanting Jews to exist within their own nations. What they want is Jewish genocide, period.

Excellent. You're such a great writer, Joshua!
