What a moving essay. When I toured Israel with my former Toronto congregation in 2019, we met with a lone soldier. This should be included in every itinerary. There is so much to revere in each and every individual. So much to be grateful to them for . . .

Another impressive essay Joshua…thank you for your continuing education about Israel and the Jewish people. I always read your words first thing each morning. It will, of course go into the folder of your work I am keeping. They could make another book for you to publish. In America, we have an all volunteer military, mostly volunteering from the “red states.” It depends on the culture of the military. When the Biden woke, DEI, transgender culture was recently reoriented toward a warrior culture, the number of volunteers switched from inadequate numbers to exceeding the goal. These volunteers are honored in their home cultures, but unfortunately not in the louder dominant culture of blue cities, states and universities. We are fortunate to have this volunteer military.
