Back in the 1970s the antisemitism was so intense in the Massachusetts public schools and so systemic (teachers and principal) that my parents took my sister and me out of school and sent my sister and me to private schools (which was quite a stretch for finances but that's another affair). So I haven't dealt with Massachusetts public schools since 1974.

I few years ago I read the book The Fatal Embrace by Benjamin Ginsburg. While published in 1999, I find it still relevant. My takeaway is that while small minded bigotry against Jews has always been present and pervasive, organized demonstrations and violence almost always require those with a specific agenda and deep pockets to finance it, be it state actors or those with access to power. Follow the money!

Too many diaspora Jewish organizations continue to trumpet the need for “education” and “building bridges.” The past two years demonstrate this approach didn’t work. It’s time for Jews to fight back without worrying who is offended - the world certainly doesn’t care if Jews are endangered let alone offended. In addition, it’s time to empower the younger generation of Jews who are not being taught the importance of Zionism, who don’t understand the history of Jews and Israel, and who are told that “tikkun olam” is Judaism. The Diaspora needs to reinvent itself or make Aliyah.
I few years ago I read the book The Fatal Embrace by Benjamin Ginsburg. While published in 1999, I find it still relevant. My takeaway is that while small minded bigotry against Jews has always been present and pervasive, organized demonstrations and violence almost always require those with a specific agenda and deep pockets to finance it, be it state actors or those with access to power. Follow the money!

The NSW cops & premier are happy to take the kudos for handling the day of the massacre reasonably well. But as the article points out they laid the groundwork for the terrorists by teaching them they can do what they want and will get away with it.
2 full years of *choosing* to simply not enforce the law was a lesson learned by the terrorists. I am glad the provocative and aggressive bullies that have been monopolising city & uni locations will now be curtailed. These were not protests but "territorial marking", meant to intimidate the public as a whole, not just Jews specifically.
