Israel is condemned for the innocent deaths and we all mourn innocent victims, but the responsibility lies with the Palestinian Hamas. Just like the German government has to take responsibility for innocent deaths in WW2 as did the Japanese government which swore to NEVER go to war again.

Israel, God has looked after you since the days of Abraham - about 4000 years - and He's not going to let you down now. But are you being faithful to Him? We Christians are praying for you to receive your Messiah and recommit yourselves to serve Him. The whole world will benefit.

"I hope one day you will wake up and realize that picking fights you cannot win — only to cowardly cry about it every time you lose — is nothing short of laughable, not least profusely ineffective." Even mores, it is pitiful. What happened on Oct 7 has been a defining moment in my life. Make no mistake, I was always a huge supporter of Israel, but now: 1) any politician who does not support Israel will never get my vote or a single dollar; 2) any organization who does not support Israel will no longer get a single dollar; 3) I've come to realize that we Jews have been oppressed over and over again in all four corners of the world and we mourn, yes but then we get up and move on and create amazing things. We do not live as victims. I have lost patience with all people and groups who live as victims; 4) I am suddenly acutely aware of the beauty and the wonderment of western civilization, whereas I had taken it for granted. No we are not perfect; history has been cruel to everyone. We must constantly improve our systems, our philosophies, our ethics, our behavior. But there is nothing better. 5) In order to keep that which we have, I celebrate for the time our military, our intelligence agencies, and our law enforcement. (My husband doesn't recognize me).

Joshua – your articles continue to amaze me. This is an outstanding piece. The truth rings out and helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel (no nasty pun intended). My mother’s stern words echo in my ears – “Get on with it!”

I am so sick and tired of people playing the victim card. They should take a page from the Israeli handbook. STOP BEING A VICTIM, GET UP AND RESPECT YOURSELF. BUILD SOMETHING WORTHWHILE for yourselves and your children AND stop the hate.

There are victims – millions of them. Any nation, race or people who have been oppressed, persecuted, marginalised, terrorised, racially discriminated against, slaughtered, enslaved, terrorised, colonised, occupied and basically been treated like shite – and there are many, have every right to be aggrieved and angry.

Their terrible situation must be acknowledged and wherever possible, the world should support and help them – BUT then for heaven’s sake then they must GET ON WITH IT! Stop being the victim, stop stealing the aid, stop moaning about how unfair the world is and hold out the begging bowl demanding more and more, while sinking further into a sh-t hole that they and their elected leaders have created.

I see this all over the world – victimhood instead of getting up, dusting yourself off and forging ahead. Can you imagine what Gaza could have been with all the billions in aid that they were GIVEN? It could have been a Mediterranean tourist mecca (really - no pun intended). Instead, it became a cesspit like so many other ‘third-world’ countries.

Mark Twain famously said: “Palestine is desolate and unlovely. And why should it be otherwise? Can the curse of the Deity beautify a land? Palestine is no more of this work-day world. It is sacred to poetry and tradition – it is dream-land.” However, the Israelis turned this desolate place into a rich and abundant homeland where diverse peoples can live side-by-side, respecting each other and living in relative harmony. They made the ‘desert bloom’. And this, is what drives the arabs mad. They did not make the desert bloom. They want what you made. They want it for free. They want it now and the world better be awake – they will demand more tomorrow. Worst of all – they have explicitly stated to the world that their goal is the annihilation of Israel. Simple – they want all the Jews dead. How stupid are their ‘supporters’ in accepting that this genocidal statement is OK?

And yet, through your writing and the attitude of many Jewish people that I know is the shrug of the shoulders, and just getting on with it. I admire that and it should be a lesson for all of us.

Excellent Joshua. I am not Jewish but I fervently support Israel and the Jewish people worldwide, especially here in America. I don’t know how many non Jew Israel /Jewish supporters there are in this country but I suspect the number is very large. Know that there are many praying for you and supporting you as best we can.
