Mark Carney apparently beat England and France to the mark in officially declaring that Canada recognizes a Palestinian state. How does he have the conceit to speak for all of Canada? He certainly doesn’t speak for me.
In 2015, Carney’s predecessor, Justin Trudeau, declared Canada to be the first post national state, another first for the true north strong and free. Trudeau reasoned this because, “There is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada.” So how then does Carney get to speak for all of Canada, saying that all Canadians are just fine with rewarding a terrorist organization with its own state, even while it is still in the throes of its raison d’etre, the total destruction of Israel and its Jewish people?
True, the past two years’ attacks on Jewish communities in Canada, the university encampments, the synagogue and Jewish school shootings and so on, mean that some Canadians are indeed rejoicing at Carney’s declaration. But I hope that this is not “mainstream,” or “core,” to Canada’s identity, and that many more Canadians would object, if Carney ever bothered to find out what they actually think, before speaking for them.

Mark Carney apparently beat England and France to the mark in officially declaring that Canada recognizes a Palestinian state. How does he have the conceit to speak for all of Canada? He certainly doesn’t speak for me.
In 2015, Carney’s predecessor, Justin Trudeau, declared Canada to be the first post national state, another first for the true north strong and free. Trudeau reasoned this because, “There is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada.” So how then does Carney get to speak for all of Canada, saying that all Canadians are just fine with rewarding a terrorist organization with its own state, even while it is still in the throes of its raison d’etre, the total destruction of Israel and its Jewish people?
True, the past two years’ attacks on Jewish communities in Canada, the university encampments, the synagogue and Jewish school shootings and so on, mean that some Canadians are indeed rejoicing at Carney’s declaration. But I hope that this is not “mainstream,” or “core,” to Canada’s identity, and that many more Canadians would object, if Carney ever bothered to find out what they actually think, before speaking for them.
The erstwhile PM should amend his statement accordingly, at the very minimum, to say, “The Canadian government recognizes a Palestinian state.” It is arrogant to think that he has the moral right to speak for all Canadians and for the entity of Canada, especially when he speaks in support of a terrorist, jihadi organization.

Excellent essay. Good thing any declaration of recognition of a Pal State is 100 % meaningless and has absolutely zero power to do a damn thing. These Western leaders have ensured that the terrorists now will continue to believe they have a chance of "winning." Instead, they face more death, destruction and eventual expulsion and/or relocation. There will be no Pal state unless one is created out of a Muslim Country, or better yet, in one of the countries "recognizing" a Pal state. Bibi already made a partial comment about all this (that there will NEVER be a Pal state) and has announced a full comment is coming soon.
I’m sorry to say every word of this article is true, Joshua! You didn’t miss a beat and were on point in your criticisms of the international community and the western left. The Red-Green alliance is very real and it has hijacked the left. Today, Britain, France, Canada, Australia, Andorra, Ireland, Portugal, and Malta all voted to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN today. It was a HUGE mistake! But it was done purely for political reasons as left-wing governments are beholden to the woke leftists and Jihadists that have taken over their party. Many of these countries’ governments are trying to save the political careers because they are wildly unpopular. But what they are doing is rewarding Hamas and giving them a big PR victory. Now, Hamas can say to the Palestinian people “Look what we got you! A state! International recognition! You can believe in us and together we’ll achieve mutual liberation!”
Starmer and Macron remind me of Chamberlain and Daladier in their knowing capitulation to Hitler and Mussolini at Munich in 1938. No left-wing political party can be trusted anymore to protect the Jewish people in the West. They must look to the right and the center for protection. As for the international community, they are SO naive about the Palestinians! They were all for the Oslo Accords in 1993 and the Camp David Talks in 2000. They fell for the lie that Yasser Arafat was willing to live in peace with Israel. In public he pretended to, but in private he spoke of intifada revolution and conquering the rest of the holy land when the chance came. He helped wreck Oslo and turned down the proposed Camp David peace agreement even though Bill Clinton and Ehud Barak gave him everything he wanted and more. He was never serious about peace and the hardliners in Palestinian society were only to happy to all they could to collapse the peace process as well.
Today, Fatah and Hamas show no interest whatsoever in peace. Abbas and his Islamist counterparts want it all from the river to sea and want it to be Judenrein. There would be no place for a Jewish state in their perfect scenario for the holy land. So why does the dimwitted international community keep insisting on the long dead and buried two-state solution? Why do they think recognizing a Palestinian state and emboldening Iran and its proxies is a good idea? They are total fools and their purely symbolic moves mean absolutely nothing! The United Nations is a corrupt joke at this point. The European Union is broken and has lost its way. Britain, France, Canada, and Australia are run by weak, pathetic excuses for “men” who are kowtowing to Arab and Muslim voters to save their dying political careers. But as polls show, Starmer and Macron for instance, don’t speak for the silent majority of Brits and Frenchmen. Across the political spectrum left, right and center, the vast majority of the British and French public oppose the recognition of the Palestinian state.
These performative moves won’t lead to peace but to greater legitimacy for Jihadists. Also, you are going to recognize a Palestinian state with NO conditions?!
