Israelis want a real and lasting peace. Not ever being allowed to win the war by international pressure or giving land for peace is over. Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood must be defeated!
Absolutely. When you have a dangerous enemy who refuses to back down you have no choice but to decimate them to the point of unconditional surrender. THEN you will have peace.
Critics never say what Israel should have done in the face of the October 7 massacre. That tells you their rhetoric is just hiding antisemitism and trying to make it respectable. It isn’t and they aren’t.
We are living in an Orwellian world. Up is down, self defense is genocide, peace lovers are war mongers and terrorists are victims. It's exhausting dealing with the hate and ignorance from every corner. Am Ysrael Chai!
Israel is gearing up to manufacture more of its own war machine, which is absolutely necessary. We cannot be dependent on how the latest U.S. Prez wants to manipulate the stock market, or voting polls. And we have to care a lot less about what anybody says.
Given the growing trend in the US that is open hostility to Israel and Jews in general, Israel must be prepared to deal with future US administrations and legislatures that will not only withhold weaponry but might very well arm Israel's enemies even more than they are doing now.
I agree with Dinah Leffert. Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR, Hezbollah, Houthis, ISIS, etc. etc. ad nauseam all must be defeated never to rise again.
You are right. I just want us to get comfortable using words that are a lot less "polite" than "defeat" or "self-defense." We need to destroy barbarians util they surrender unconditionally. That is how you defend yourself, and escape the repeating cycle of attack / cease-fire / attack / cease-fire. No more. We are Athens, yes; we must be willing to become Sparta and go back to being Athens only when the enemy is destroyed.
True. I fear that those who have gone against Israel will not be banished until the Lord Himself does it as he's stated in the Hebrew Bible. I promised myself I'd write about what happens to all these people, and I've never gotten around to it, but it's all there and the Lord knows exactly what becomes of all of them.
Of course Israel wants peace but at what price? They are surrounded by Mad Mullahs keeping their Islamic populations endlessly riled up regarding the sheer existence of the Jewish state. Israel should defend itself and to Hell with their critics in Europe and the US masquerading as Hamas killers with the "River to the Sea" nonsense and wearing keffiyehs.
I’ve maintained that Hamas knew exactly how Israel would respond after October 7th and were more than willing to let Israel come and sacrifice their own people and destroy their cities for police gain. And it seems to have worked. I am in no position to suggest how Israel could have responded differently or more strategicall , limited response would still have created the backlash and immediate condemnation present on October 8th even before the invasion. No understanding, no empathy no acknowledgement of the unthinkable brutality. Just “lets blame Israel”.
Israel could be accused of playing right into Hamas’s hands but Israel’s denunciation as a genocidal regime would most likely not have diminished. But what now? What might a new government be able to bring about? Rabin tried 20 years ago. Is there the will within the Israelis to try something different? Could the US or some other party help be a broker for peace? In the region? The Saudi perhaps? Am I being totally unrealistic in thinking this? In Arabic they also greet each other with Shalom.
"That is why I refuse the demand that we prove our peacefulness by becoming easier to destroy." You and anyone who supports Israel must begin to think philosophically about what you face from the new alliance of the left and followers of Islam (FOI). To be clear, I never tell people what to do unless I think it is a matter of survival. The left is now fully nihilist. That is, the left rejects any facts which clash with their ideology with prejudice and all human values, honesty, competence, integrity, excellence, beauty, etc., and above all justice, as such. As a direct result, the left hates the good for being good and any institution run by lefties is philosophically poisoned. (Our movie business here in America is a good example.) You can see a symptom of this basic philosophic disease in the left's recent alliance with FOI and decisions such as the awarding of said peace prize to someone who accuses Israel of genocide when in fact, Israel is simply defending itself. I believe it was Daniel Greenfield who pointed out that the world is now involved in a war between savages and those who value civilization. Personally I support freedom and individual rights and civilization and therefore as a non Jew, I support Israel.
I always find it ironic when American politicians throw out the comment that 'yes 1,200 Israelis were killed on October 7th, but the 70,000 Palestinians (this number is a lie by the way) deaths are disproportionate and genocidal'. I tell these purveyors of morality, that during WW2 no US civilians were killed by enemy operations against the homeland, yet the US incinerated over 250,000 Japanese in two days, and 20,000 German civilians in the bombings of Dresden and Cologne.
"A peace that depends on Jews accepting permanent vulnerability contains a very old arrangement beneath its reassuring vocabulary: Other people decide how much danger we must tolerate, and we are judged by how quietly we tolerate it." So well written.
Every single war was started by "them"; the idea that Israelis don't want peace is patently absurd.

Good point
Thank you Vanessa Berg!

October will be an eventful month, perhaps a biblical prophecy.
Vote accordingly.

No thanks, I don’t put on the shoes of murdering psychopaths.
