You did such a wonderful job of telling one of my favorite stories, David and Goliath. As Winston Churchill said, "Without victory there is no survival," and the Israelis know this only too well.

Thank you for writing this article. The David and Goliath story or metaphor is more revelant today than ever.

This is one of my favourite Biblical stories. Joshua, what an amazing job you have done on this! Absolutely true and I believe Israel will prevail.

Israel must and will prevail…good will always ultimately triumph over evil, and Hamas is pure evil!

The ending made me chuckle. Well done.

Polyspermy? Is that a fancy way of saying gang raped? 🤔

Back in those days, from my understanding, it was concerned tribal/communal for many men to simultaneously try to impregnate a woman. It was consensual, I guess.

I read that one female hostage had sperm from like 57 different men when tested. I'm sure in their sick minds that was consensual too. Thankfully no Goliath will be born this time around.

I found the narrative sorely lacking.

Specifically, lacking David's soul stirring response to Goliath:

You come to me with sword, spear and shield: But I come to you in the name of The Lord of Hosts, the God of The Armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand; and I will smite you and take your head from you and I will give The Host of The Philistines to the fowls of the air and the beasts of the Earth;that all the Earth may know that there is a God in Israel and all this assembly shall know that The Lord saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is The Lord's and he will give you into our hands.

Yes, we know how it ends, but you left out the most important part:The Why of it.

Beautifully told, Joshua. Kudos! Could you share the source of the David and Goliath image in the header? I've never seen it before.
