This is an excellent post, accurately delineating Israel's current situation and its best paths forward.

Amid Tisha B’Av lamentations, recall that Jeremiah also said, "This I call to mind and therefore I have hope. The loving kindness of the Lord is everlasting; His mercies are new every morning and never end. Great is His faithfulness".

During this Tisha B’Av may Israel recall the steadfastness of Ezra and Nehimiah during the Babylonian 'aliyah'. They faced down the Arabs and finished rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem with swords in hand. They trusted in Israel's God.

He who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. Am Yisrael Chai.

Amen. Love it. They worked on the wall, tool in one hand and weapon in the other.

Amen, Mr. Schecter. Israel must completely rid themselves of these terrorists. While the nations lie and conspire…

Unfortunately the London mayor decided to withdraw the people of London's council money from arms investments, to try and make them stop selling weapons to israel, a choosing of sides if ever there was one, and the gormless labour party will do nothing.

Actually we find that The Strong are shunned in some parts of the Global culture across the planet: In fact, Jealousy against Strong and Successful people is what motivates this part of the Culture, as some people seek to shackle and silence what The Ordinary People themselves know: When threatened, Only the strong survive. And nowhere is this more true than in The Middle East. So, roll on a Trump victory, and the same for Israel too. For only through VICTORY against Islamism (as against Totalitarian Nazism and Communism before it) comes PEACE, so that the Liberal Freedoms we all value here in The West can continue.

This is so difficult. I fervently want Israel to survive; I believe it will even with Kamala in charge. But I don't know whether democracy in the U.S. will survive if Trump wins, nor do I wish to live under christian sharia law. In addition, Trump is not a friend (of Israel) you can count on: 1) He has no real ideology, but only pursues what he thinks is in his own best interest; 2) He is often isolationist in his ramblings; 3) He has been known to bend a knee to Putin, who is no friend to Israel. There was a fourth, but I forget. I cannot bring myself to vote for a narcissistic sociopath -- and surely Trump is that. So . . . Kamala it will have to be and we can replace her four years later. I pray, I pray Israel will survive long enough. (Israel has to become less dependent on the U.S. as well).

Iran with The Bomb mortally threatens The West. Trump is the only Candidate who will remove Iran's Nuclear Weapons (their 800 kilograms of Enriched Uranium, and the Fluorine Centrifuges) from Islamist Tehran by total pressure or Force of Arms if needs be. I am not keen on religious Extremists of any sort, or the Christian Sharia you speak of. But only Islamism, which is the Terrorist branch of Islam, at present threatens World Nuclear Holocaust.

I don't totally disagree with you. I get it. I just don't entirely ntrust Trump, for the reasons given. But I completely agree that we should get rid of these extremist barbarians. They pose a real threat and I don't understand why the West has become so complacent. Seems they will fight to the death for "trans rights" and let the barbarians in at the gate.

Best wishes, Robin. I have no problem with ordinary Persians. But the terrorist Islamism of the Iranian Regime as it backs Terrorism in The West and tries to get Nuclear weapons, has got to go. Yes, 'Trans' Rights is crap too, but that is another story.

The Persian people are cool, as far as I know. By and large they are not happy with the Islamist regime, I think. Anyway, good exchange. Best wishes to you, too.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. First of all, VERY important point about how the Holocaust began, i.e., the separating out of Jews from the rest of the world, and the world getting comfortable with the idea that Jews are different and dangerous and not worth rescuing. Second, the entire ending about lamentation being all well and good, but we also need resolve to act -- and the list of actions is spot on. This gave me goosebumps.

Fuck the International Medical Students Association. They should be suspending muslims. Maybe they should boycott all the medical innovations made by Israelis as well. Why should we expect cowards to stand with Israel when they won't even protect and defend their own nations. Look at how islam is taking over Europe. The west is completely cowed and disgraceful. Not an ounce of courage from a single institution.

In cowardly European fashion they banned the Jews instead of the muslim barbarians.

Victory means more of these animals in Gaza dead . Eradicate them like locusts.

The bastards aren’t cheering in the streets and passing out candy now. None of them are innocent. They fully support what they did on October 7.

Torah do warn that if you don't keep the "Law" the land will spit you out, or was it, vomit you out.

Why does Yisrael ignore the evidence of this fact occuring.

After thousands of years of the same countries and the same words a person would think, don't they ever get tired? But we are only taking about Jewish lives. Jews are nothing to get concerned about. So what if the Arab world wants to kill all the Jews. And lay waste to Israel. They stood by and watched the Nazi's until they had to act. Oh well what is a few more dead Jews. Everybody will get over it, just as long as we don't have to get involved.

When the Muslim world takes the fight to the western world and into the centers western culture. When the Muslim teachings start to be regurgitated in the good Christian homes. When their children say you and your ways are wrong, Mom and Dad, and I am going to join my Muslim community and fight against you. On that day "Mom and Dad" will wring their hands and say, where did we go wrong? Maybe the moms and dads of the world will be able to stem the tide, but I doubt it. Evil can be made to look most attractive and pleasant, until the kids get their first taste of blood. I don't need parents I have my Muslim brotherhood to help me. On that day moms and dads the world over will come to know the pain that Israel has been put through and continues to suffer with. Jewish lives only matter to Jewish moms and dads. After all those Jews are not like us. They are funny looking and what is with that language of theirs? I don't want my kids hanging out with them.

The world is screwed up enough, we don't need more confused thinking. We need straight, harsh daylight, thinking and honest dialog. We need honest examination of who does what. Not what is said but behavior in the world. Who took out the World Trade Center? And while it was burning were not the cities of the Arab world ringing with laughter and joy at our pain?

But the west has memory problems. Not only with their own leaders but how they look at the Arab world.

The bottom line is money. Let's be honest. That is what all the actions of all the world are about. Greed. No one cares about anything when they salivating over the millions and millions of dollars, pounds, Deutch Marks and gold they can make. As long as the world puts their greed above people's lives nothing will really change. But by the time everyone wakes up to that reality it will be too late. And the only taste in their mouths will be the ashes of yet another war.

So go ahead, convince yourself how good and noble your intentions are but remember who helps and who destroys. In your hour of mourning who was with you and who was dancing in the streets.

We are praying daily that the Jewish people will recognize Jesus Christ as their Messiah and return to Him. Both 586 B.C. and 70 A.D. were sent as judgment on Israel, but God is not finished with Israel, and He is ever mindful of His covenant. Deliverance can come only from Him.
