CNN on several levels are SCUM. As simple as that. CNN's bias and where their sympathies lie are well known. This incident is a tempest in a teapot, and the truly evil Leftist media are trying as always to make this horse march. On any scale of barbarity, the IDF barely BARELY registers. Hamas and the islamic terrorist barbarities are so evil they cannot even be measured. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about the IDF knows and understands their behavior.

Asking a modern MSM journalist (or media org) to engage in some critical introspection is like asking the same of my dog.

They move through the world wrapped in an impenetrable armor of certitude, convinced of their pure hearts and noble intentions, and all else is waved away in a frenzy of cognitive dissonance. You would sooner snatch the halo off an angel than you would off the modern journalist, who imagines her/himself as part of a priesthood committed to justice, even when they're whitewashing another eruption of Jew hate.

MSM journalists are a herd of conjoined minds, they move, think and breathe in lockstep, and if they're ever forced to admit error or change direction (as with Biden in 2024 going overnight from "sharp as a tack" to senile grandpa who needs to retire), they consign their prior stance to the memory hole and it's forgotten in a display of group amnesia. Denials are made in the same language by all the same people, articles and websites are updated, and the herd moves on without looking back and only conceding that "mistakes were made".

And now we know that CNN, BBC, NPR, CBC, PBS, NYT etc etc are all committed to the anti-Zionist agenda, they've joined the Western Social Justice crusade to become the official protector of the Palestinians, whose every wound must be cataloged and publicized but whose every attack must be buried under a mountain of "context".

The MSM is the most powerful weapon in the hands of our globalist progressive oligarchy, who have run to the head of the anti-Israel mob because Israel has both a conservative govt and is the homeland of a particular people, whereas the globalists demand all people be absorbed and dissolved in a universal marketplace. Also, our upper classes are as addicted to cheap virtue as our lower classes are addicted to cheap calories, and there is no easier way to score virtue points than being "pro Palestine", as the Palestinians are happy to play the angry poor brown oppressed victim who stars in every liberal fantasy.

None of these people are "journalists" in the traditional sense. They are whores who buy and sell hatred and rage yet who still think they're entitled to deliver the Sunday sermon. CNN etc are liars and propagandists with ZERO credibility or integrity and they need to be treated as such.

The so called CNN reporter clearly wrote from an anti Israel narrative and misinterpreted traditional Jewish beliefs about the relationship between the Jewish People and the Land of Israel

Israel should have expelled most of these leftist propaganda outlets 25 years ago

An excellent piece as always from Joshua! The attack on CNN reporters by the IDF soldiers was inappropriate, unprofessional and absolutely wrong. Thank you to the IDF for taking quick action to punish those responsible for this incident! All that being said, CNN are not innocent in all this. They are active participants in the Israel-Palestine Conflict. They are blatantly biased against Israel and for the Palestinians. They basically were Hamas fanboys during the Gaza War doing apologetics for them, attacking Israel while never doing any criticism of Hamas, publishing unverified claims, repeating unverified information, doing a false moral equivalence between a genocidal terrorist group and a free, multicultural democracy, not providing important context, never criticizing the Palestinians or treating them as if they have agency too, ignoring or minimizing the violence inflicted on Israelis, and shaping the conflict rather than reporting on in an objective, fair and balanced way. CNN condemns terrorist groups in other countries. But they'll makes excuses all day long for Palestinian terrorists. CNN infantilizes Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad while holding Israel to impossibly high standards. The rest of the mainstream media is no better.

Its interesting to me how CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, BBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post never have on or talk to, actual experts on Israel or the conflict. I've never seen 60 Minutes or CNN talk to Noa Tishby, Einat Wilf, Daniel Gordis, Yossi Klein Halevi, John Spencer, Andrew Fox, Benny Morris, Tom Segev, Anita Shapira, Efraim Karsh, Michael Bar-Zohar, Ronen Bergman, Michael Oren, Emily Schrader, Yoseph Haddad, Noor Dahri, Loay Alshareef, Dana Horn, or Deborah E. Lipstadt. Nor do they ever have on pro-peace Palestinians like Bassem Eid, John Aziz, Hamza Howidy, Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, and the Green Prince. Yet they will platform human garbage like Dave Smith, Hasan Piker, Andrew Tate, Norman Finkelstein, Mehdi Hasan, Bassem Youssef, Noura Erakat, Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Owen Jones, and Ash Sarkar.

Good lists! I would also like to see Yishai Fleischer on 60 Minutes, to make the case for so-called settlers in Judea.

@Joshua .. as usual, you think, compile & write brilliantly. Great articulation .. this essay is worthy of an award. Its content superb, and so well explained. I love the line .. ‘it doesn’t justify it, but it does explain why’.

Thank you

When I see Wolf Blitzer and Jake Taper, two jews, disparage isreal in favor if it's enemies, it truly sickens me. They Always invoke " may his memory be a blessing " like they are good jews. But in reality, they are the worst. They could do so much more to be pro jewish, but choose not to, I guess to keep their jobs.

Writing from the prospective of supporting the war on Iran: News outlets are all biased. Fox is usually laughable in its sycophancy for Trump, even if they are pro Israel it is not a serious news network. CNN and PBS at least they report the news. I can filter out their bias. Same with the networks. You single out Pleitgen bec he is subject to Iran’s rules when there…at least he’s there.

Diamond’s report on the incident in question was legitimate. I would like to see at least equal time devoted to Israel’s hardships as that with Gaza’s. But again, it’s better than Fox or BBC.

As a conservative who strongly supports Israel and its necessary fight against Hamas and the threats it faces, I was troubled to read reports of some Israeli soldiers acting out of line. Mistakes or misconduct in war are serious and deserve real accountability—no excuses. I am glad they were held accountable. I realize that doesn’t always happen.

But what frustrates me even more is watching people try to wave it all away by pointing at CNN’s well-documented anti-Israel bias and acting like that makes everything okay. That’s not defense of Israel; that’s the exact same intellectual dodge the left uses when they analyze killers and criminals. “The system failed them,” “poverty made them do it,” “the media’s biased against the perpetrator”—whatever it takes to avoid personal responsibility. We don’t get to cherry-pick standards just because we like the side that messed up.

Supporting Israel means wanting it to win cleanly and uphold the moral high ground it claims. Blindly excusing bad behavior because the reporting came from a hostile outlet is weak and hypocritical. Real allies tell the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. Israel is better than that—and its supporters should be too.

I totally understand being angry . But the high ground is always more difficult. The path way less traveled.

Acting out of line? They were too gentle

Josh my friend, that was a lot of text spent on a fact of life which will never change. Like when those of us of a certain age came back from Vietnam and they called us "baby killers." They can all K.M.F.A. then and now.
